Chapter 1175 - 86: Avenger_2
Chapter 1175: Chapter 86: Avenger_2
Only these terrifying evils are willing to offer a bit of power for her soul.
But perhaps there will be nothing, and she will be crushed like an ant.
Just as the rumors say, foolish mortals attempt to gain power through demons and devils, only to meet a tragic fate in the end.
But she no longer cares.
Even if there is just a sliver of hope, she will try.
Forsake the dawn.
Forsake faith.
Everything has lost its meaning.
She may not live, but they must die!!!
The woman’s hollow shell is filled with hatred, her faded soul igniting the flames of vengeance, her steps growing more resolute, her dark eyes devoid of emotion, harboring only the belief in mutual destruction.
This is the last resort of ordinary people.
They have no power, no status, no authority, nothing but their own souls.
And in this world, there exists a group of extremely evil beings; these rumored terrifying creatures are eager for any soul.
Sacrifice oneself.
Offer to the Bottomless Abyss, or to Bator Hell, bartering the soul for evil power.
This is one of the origins of sorcerers.
The woman’s figure gradually recedes, disappearing into the darkness before the dawn rises.
Cathedral District.
An elderly man in sumptuous clothing is filled with rage, kneeling in prayer before the statue, but receiving no response. The Lord of Dawn—Lathander remains silent, having not responded to the prayers of the faithful for a long time. Although divine techniques are still routinely bestowed, no High Tier Priest or follower can hear any teachings from the Lord of Dawn.
"My Lord..."
The elder slowly raises his head, never doubting the Lord of Dawn’s determination to uphold goodness and justice.
He is only worried that the Divine Spirit he serves is overly aggressive.
Indeed.
Lathander is a very aggressive Divine Spirit. Even if this led to the Cataclysm of Dawn, He remained as radical as in the past, although He has become much more cautious in His actions.
Some clues suggest.
During and after the eruption of the Saint’s Calamity, the Lord of Dawn—Lathander has been studying the ancient spells that once caused the calamity, seeking a plan to eliminate the dark forces of evil once and for all.
The priests of Lathander are usually a group of passionate idealists.
But it is the Divine Spirit they serve who is the true idealist.
Holy Light.
Heaven Mountain.
The Lord of Dawn—Lathander is seeking the most ancient Primordial Pact; there are three in total. One is in the deepest part of Bator Hell, in the hands of the Lord of Hell—Asmodeus; another is in the clockwork Nirvana of Mechanus, guarded by someone unknown; the last is in Heaven Mountain, placed beside the Supreme Holy Light, bathed in eternal radiance, guarded by a radiant and mysterious Dragon Species, possibly the original Feathered Serpent God.
Very few are aware of the Lord of Dawn’s radical plan.
They are the Mother Earth, the God of Knowledge, and the Goddess of Joy, but until now they remain silent about the matter.
If the Lord of Dawn succeeds, He will become the embodiment of Holy Light.
The Everlasting Radiant Lord!
Only with absolute justice, absolute goodness, and eternal blazing sunlight, can the dark forces of this land be truly eradicated or suppressed.
For this, the Lord of Dawn must sacrifice all His humanity.
Not a sliver of humanity can remain.
Some rumors suggest that the love between the Lord of Dawn and the Mother Earth has rekindled. Now the God of Dawn bathes in the Earth’s gentle embrace, as though held by a maternal embrace, perhaps knowing this is the last reconciliation between them, the Earth reserves her most tender embrace for the dawn rising on the horizon.
No one knows when the Lord of Dawn will ascend to Heaven Mountain.
When He takes that step.
Dawn will transform into eternal blazing sunlight, and the supreme Holy Light from the top of Heaven Mountain will shine upon this land. At that time, a mighty Divine Power very close to the God of Gods will appear representing the forces of goodness and justice.
—The Lord of Radiance!
Outside the cathedral.
A solemn Paladin appears, a hint of compassion on his face.
A Paladin of Tyr.
This God of Justice has just had one eye gouged out, and no one knows what it signifies, though some villains mockingly say, ’Justice (including the God of Justice) should turn a blind eye.’
But unfortunately, they cannot succeed.
Because they are Paladins, the last line of defense for justice.
A time of decay and fall.
Because of the power of the deities, the Paladins can advance without adhering strictly to law and goodness; they become Warriors fighting for the Divine Spirit. However, some ancient Paladin orders still follow tradition, selecting truly lawful and good youths, those idealists willing to sacrifice, subjecting them to rigorous trials and teaching them the doctrines of Paladins.
A true Paladin is forever powerless.
They possess great power, yet cannot truly change anything.
Justice is thus feeble, but never weak.
The Holy Avenger Order.
This weapon-named order is very young, their core doctrine is but one— they are the last line of defense for justice.
In the name of Holy Avengers.
Before they’re all gone, justice will never fade.
That is all.
Perhaps someday in the future, Paladins will forget the tenets of law, goodness, and justice, but that will surely be in a time when they have all perished, and at least now, it is not the case.
