Chapter 1173: Chapter 85: Prelude to the Spider Queen’s Battle (Part 3)

As the mastermind behind the scenes, the Spider Queen transformed herself into a massive cocoon, entering a seemingly ’weakened’ state, but in reality, the Spider Queen Rose would never let herself become truly weak.

The entire process is akin to harvesting souls.

Similar to Duncan’s methods of obtaining souls, all the unfaithful believers perished, their souls reincarnating in the Bottomless Abyss.

It’s unclear how much time has passed.

The disheveled figure of Igdrive departed; she had obtained the answer she sought. The powerful Demon Lord had agreed to meet Spider Queen Rose.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself," an eerie female voice echoed.

Inside the palace.

The devil’s avatar, deep in thought, slowly opened his eyes, gazing at the Witch Queen Egger Vulfu before speaking, causing her expression to change drastically: "Ocus has been resurrected!"

The Witch Queen’s face filled with astonishment, she looked up and asked, "He has been resurrected?"

"Yes," the devil’s avatar nodded and said, "But he hasn’t revealed himself yet; nobody knows what he’s scheming."

What else could it be?

The power of the final words.

The Undying King Ocus merely grasped a fragment of the power of the final words during the battle with the Spider Queen, showing only a glimpse of it. This is power borne from the essence of death. It took him over a century to completely master it, only to ruin it all and be killed once again.

However, Ocus came back to life once more.

Duncan had little interest in the power of the final words because it carried too much uncertainty.

"If Ocus is resurrected."

The Witch Queen Egger Vulfu immediately forgot about the recently defeated Igdrive and said gravely, "Then we must proceed with our subsequent plans with even more caution."

The devil’s avatar raised his hand slowly, patting his knee.

The Witch Queen Egger Vulfu showed a hint of disdain, raising her hand lightly to cast a spell, ensuring there were no impurities on the devil’s avatar’s knee before elegantly sitting down.

"The Spider Queen Rose wants to meet me," the devil’s avatar said slowly.

Spider Queen?

The Witch Queen Egger Vulfu’s expression revealed a hint of concern, she asked solemnly, "What scheming plot is she planning again?"

The devil’s avatar replied calmly, "This time, it seems she has a favor to ask of me."

The Witch Queen’s expression carried a trace of surprise.

The devil’s avatar then said slowly, "The Spider Queen is seeking ascension, and if she does ascend, the Abyssal Web will lose the protection of the Divine Spirit."

"Her enemies will be eager to move."

"My stance is crucial."

"If I can support her, or remain neutral, the process of the Spider Queen’s ascension will be much easier."

The Witch Queen Egger Vulfu examined the devil’s avatar before her with amazement, trying to guess his thoughts. She asked softly, "So what have you decided to do?"

Duncan chuckled and said, "Watch the show."

"In such a gamble, don’t bet rashly."

"Because holding the stakes in hand ensures deterrence, allowing for flexible moves."

"The Spider Queen is not to be trusted."

"It’s about keeping her guessing, letting her play both sides against the middle to make things interesting."

Unsurprisingly, the secret of the Spider Queen’s ascension ritual may also originate from the Bottomless Abyss, given that the Ulga-Sacheck portal is on her level.

It’s a massive stone-walled building near a main tunnel of the Abyssal Web.

Constant low breathing can be heard from within, and there’s a hole spilling foul liquid, from which red fleshy tongues extend, filling the structure.

This undulating fleshy tongue lazily devours any object placed upon it, gradually transporting digested matter to the bizarre depths of the Bottomless Abyss called Ulga-Sacheck.

The Order Brotherhood has cataloged Ulga-Sacheck as the 92nd layer of the Bottomless Abyss, describing it based on its unique perception as—"The Living Layer."

This layer appears to be composed of unimaginably large biological innards, with countless vascular networks flowing like rivers through organic tunnels, massive living blood and tissue organs hanging like fruits from the distant ceiling, secreting corrosive fluid into the living flesh ground beneath, soaking it in natural acid.

Nothing has ever survived too long within Ulga-Sacheck, thus Rose’s servants utilized this hole as an efficient waste disposal and prisoner processing device, occasionally even using it for blood sacrifices.

Only Rose, and a few others, are aware of the secrets within.

Ulga-Sacheck is not truly part of the Bottomless Abyss but rather some colossal entity from the dawn of time, an elder member of the primal chaos, the Unnamable Ones.

When the outer planes formed, this godlike entity had already gone dormant.

Ulga-Sacheck was neither trapped nor captured by the Bottomless Abyss; in fact, as its dormant form traversed the primordial material of the multiverse, the ever-growing Bottomless Abyss enveloped it.

Thus it was trapped.

The Bottomless Abyss acquired a 92nd layer, a living, fleshy layer.

Because its memories can be traced back to an era lost to the river of time, unknown even to the Obiris Demon Lords, Rose occasionally took the risk of delving into Ulga-Sacheck, seeking knowledge of ancient events well before the Divine Spirits.

"A living abyssal layer?"

"Ulga-Sacheck?"

"Is it the surviving chaotic creation?" the Witch Queen Egger Vulfu expressed with great interest.

Duncan slowly shook his head and said, "No."

"It predates the Obiris Demons, or you could say it is one of the living primes of chaos."

The only recorded first-generation chaos demon.

Even before the fall of the Lord of Hell Asmodeus, whom it polluted, ultimately leading to the emergence of Bator Hell.

This creature became a layer of the Bottomless Abyss.

The Bottomless Abyss is vast on each layer, at least the size of a kingdom, with some layers approaching the size of a continent; Ulga-Sacheck is such a dimension. Those who created the Obiris Demons were formidable enormous entities.

This ancient being is much larger than the Obiris Storm Lord Bacher whom Duncan had killed.

And it is unkillable.

Because no one can destroy a layer of the Bottomless Abyss, such an act would directly anger the Abyssal Will itself.

The Witch Queen Egger Vulfu listened in silence.

Occasionally, the Witch Queen would gaze up at the devil before her, feeling increasingly that he was unfathomable.

The Bottomless Abyss has always been ’growing.’

Currently, the recorded layers number 666, yet deep within the Bottomless Abyss, new layers are still ’growing.’

Some ancient secrets are only revealed by killing an Obiris Demon Lord.

That day had come.

Duncan prepared to gather a lesser avatar to travel to the Abyssal Web and meet Spider Queen Rose’s avatar.

The Spider Queen was plotting, and Duncan was determined to watch the spectacle unfold.

He might as well join in the chaos too.
