Chapter 1139: Chapter 74: Legion Descends! (Part 2)

The expression of the Enchanting Demon Lord Marita was extremely surprised. The neat steps, the solemn military appearance, without a trace of chaos, seemed like a moving whole, entering the Abyssal Gate with an earth-shaking stride.

This scene was no less shocking than the night elves seeing the endless Burning Legion guards pouring out from the teleportation portal.

Since when did the Demon Legion have this kind of discipline?

What shocked the Enchanting Demon Lord Marita even more was that behind these legion guards, there were still teams of Enchanting Mages. These were people taken from her hands, and now these enchantresses had lost a bit of their frivolous and casual nature. They appeared solemn, their gazes firm, a hint of cold smile at the corners of their mouths, holding unique nine-section whips in their hands. Behind their petite demon wings were gruesome, bloodthirsty hellhounds that followed the Enchanting Mages as if they had signed some contract.

Most incredibly, these enchantresses were not wearing revealing clothes to enhance their temptation power, but rather donning a dark cyan purgatory light armor.

Enchanting Demon Armor.

There was only one explanation, and that was that they had the capability for frontal combat.

Compared to other enchantresses, these Enchanting Mages whom Duncan focused on appeared even more ruthless. They had less of that social butterfly’s casual frivolity and more of that merciless aura akin to a female warrior unit.

"Can enchantresses be trained to this extent?" The Enchanting Demon Lord Marita found it a bit hard to believe.

Why not?

Under Duncan’s iron-blooded control, Enchanting Mages were evolving towards the direction of neutral demons, and he also wielded a portion of the Power of Darkness.

Someone was watching her.

The Enchanting Demon Lord Marita looked up and saw a very tall female figure. The other possessed six slender arms, each holding a blood-colored battle blade. Her lower body was made up of long, muscular legs. Unlike other six-armed serpent demons, this female demon, known as the Mother, exuded the aura of a spellcaster.

Very strong!

Not much weaker than herself, she was probably close to becoming a Subordinate Demon Lord.

Although there were shortcuts to the devil’s ascension, it wasn’t that fast. It was probably Lord Julian who bestowed a part of the Subordinate Demon Lord’s ability upon her.

This powerful demon, named Shaheras Mother, commanded the Enchanting Mages of the Burning Legion. Surrounded by an evil spiritual light, she looked down at the other conventional high-tier demons with a slight, inadvertent mocking smile at the corner of her mouth. She bowed her head and entered the opened Abyssal Gate.

Her memories of a past life still remained.

But as memories of the six-armed serpent demon, it seemed very distant. Now, she was the Shaheras Mother, personally named by her master. Her scream could easily kill weak enemies, and her blades could unleash a storm of death. She had almost no obvious weaknesses, far surpassing conventional high-tier demons both in melee and spellcasting.

These newly born legion demons looked down on the original Tanari demons with a hint of disdain, believing they were the most perfect creations, far superior to other demons.

Of course, this didn’t include the Balo flame demons, because they couldn’t win a fight against them.

A particularly heavy footstep sounded.

Behind the Enchanting Demon Legion were groups of purgatory minotaurs. Their height was generally above three meters, with ferocious horns fitted with specialized helmets to facilitate their mighty charges, shattering enemies with their horns. Their heavy armor was branded with abyssal runes, and they wielded heavy and exaggerated beheading giant axes. However, compared to other demon legions, the purgatory minotaurs had much less discipline, advancing in a loose formation.

Compared to the Root World, the current Burning Legion was still a mixed-army legion.

The mark of the Demon Guards was ’disciplined,’ with a formation basically similar to the infantry legions of the Roman Empire, where a small number of elite guards were ’strictly disciplined,’ equivalent to the garrisoned Forbidden Army of the Roman Empire.

The Enchanting Mage Legion was ’generally disciplined,’ equivalent to the war dog units of the Roman Empire, with hellhounds roughly equivalent to the war dogs trained by the imperial legion.

As for the other units, they could be regarded as mixed barbarian mercenaries.

There were two types of barbarian mercenaries: one was recruited in the later period of the Empire, having undergone complete training and possessing good discipline, while the other was the early Celtic and Germanic barbarian armies of the Roman Empire. Just standing there, it was already a loose formation, capable of forming a crescent formation. Once the battle started with a war cry, they all charged in a swarm.

The tradition within Braveheart was an all-out charge, characteristic of the barbarian units.

This was also the old habit of the Abyssal Legion.

In general, throughout the Bottomless Abyss, except for a few elite high-tier demons, the majority of the demon legions were less disciplined than the barbarian berserkers of Germania. If they were Barbarian Oathsworn Warriors, one wave of frenzied charges could really chop up many low-tier demon cannon fodder, as the Barbarian Oathsworn Warriors were all marked as two or three stars, equivalent to mid-tier warriors.

Waves of heat rolled in.

As the Burning Legion moved, the garrisoned Forbidden Army of the Silver Palace also began to act. Lord Julian reorganized the entire Silver Palace forces, restructuring them into the Forbidden Army and Personal Guard.

One by one, the robust Balo flame demons appeared outside the Silver Palace.

Even though the debut of the Burning Legion was shocking, when groups of Balo flame demons appeared, it still shook everyone’s hearts. Even if Duncan created an Abyss Lord in the future, it would be absolutely impossible to replace the status of the Balo flame demons.
