The Shadow stood several meters away.

His eyes remained fixed on the deep wound across his arm.

Blood dripped from his fingers, He slowly clenched his fist.

Robert lowered his sword, His breathing was heavy, sweat ran down his face.

His chest rose and fell rapidly, his arm trembled slightly.

Trade Blows… and Reverse Edge…

Both techniques had drained him badly.

Kael noticed.

“You don't look good.”

Robert looked at him “I can handle myself.”

Kael ignored him.

“Rest a bit. I'll try to buy some time.”

Robert took a deep breath and stood straight.

“No.”

He flicked his sword.

“You can't keep up.” His eyes shifted toward the Shadow.

“Nor can you sense him.”

Robert tightened his grip on his sword “I still have plenty left in me.”

Then he looked down at Kael.

“As for you…”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

“Try not to die.”

Kael stretched his shoulders “I've survived this long.”

He looked toward the Shadow.

“You don't have to worry about me.”

The Shadow suddenly coated his body in iron.

“Iron Body.”

CRACK!

He cracked his neck.

Then he stared at both of them “Are you people done with your love talk?” His gaze shifted toward Kael“You are particularly annoying.”

A cold smile appeared.

“And yes…” His body lowered slightly “You've survived long enough.”

The Shadow disappeared.

Kael's eyes widened.

He couldn't sense him anymore.

Robert reacted instantly.

Without looking at Kael, he said—

“Get behind me.”

Robert tightened his grip on his sword.

His tired eyes locked onto the battlefield, he closed his eyes for a moment.

Then took a deep breath.

Blade Intent.

His demeanor suddenly changed.

A faint aura flowed from his body and entered the mana surrounding him.

Kael stared calmly from behind.

He noticed the change and thought inwardly "What did he do?

The Shadow suddenly appeared at Kael's flank.

Robert's eyes snapped open.

“Blade Step.”

SWISH!

Robert's sword moved instantly.

The blade swung toward the Shadow.

The Shadow raised his fist.

“Iron Fist.”

CLANG!

The sword collided with his iron-coated fist.

The Shadow narrowed his eyes.

He immediately used—

“Iron Step!”

WHOOSH!

He burst backward, creating distance between them.

The Shadow stared at Robert “How long can you protect him?”

Robert remained silent.

The Shadow slowly raised his fist.

“You won't last much longer, Maintaining Blade Intent for this long…”

Robert didn't reply.

Kael stared at him.

“How are you sensing him?”

Robert didn't look back.

“A rookie like you won't understand neither I'm I interested in explaining.”

His eyes remained fixed ahead.

“Just know it has something to do with mana.”

Kael's expression became thoughtful.

“Mana…”

He looked around.

“That's right.”

His eyes widened slightly.

“Mana is everywhere.”
