---------------------------------------

Third Person POV

Harrenhal, 101 AC.

---------------------------------------

People ran from one side to the other as the dragon flew over the melee tournament grounds.

Screams came from every direction. Men, women, and children fled in desperation, though the women seemed even more hysterical with their cries. Horses neighed, dogs barked in terror, but no one stood still thinking about anything other than saving their lives from the dragon.

Some shoved others aside while the nobles demanded that their families be taken somewhere safe. Some commoners, however, didn't care about anyone's status. They simply pushed whoever was in front of them as they tried to escape, ignoring the furious shouts of the nobles.

The dragon passed over the area, giving the impression that it would circle around Harrenhal. Its towers looked tiny compared to the size of that creature. That dragon was between 70 and 80 meters long...

"Jon, we have to get out of here!" Jon heard Lyarra shout beside him. She grabbed Jon, who was the only one standing still among the Starks, watching Cannibal as the enormous dragon made another pass through the sky.

"Why is he here...? Is he here because of me?" Jon couldn't help but murmur as the dragon flew back toward them, descending a little lower. His green eyes searched for anything that might catch its attention. If that creature decided to attack, it would be a disaster.

The king was already being escorted away, from what Jon could see. That was when Lyarra finally pulled him, unable to watch him stand there any longer. Seeing the boy standing still at a moment like this certainly irritated her, and Jon ended up being dragged away, though he kept looking at the dragon as it passed over their heads once again.

Another roar echoed, making the ground tremble as the dragon flew overhead in yet another circle.

"What is it doing?" The king watched the dragon as he retreated alongside the Kingsguard and his family. His grandchildren looked up at the sky with concern, while the younger children practically screamed and cried in fear. His great-grandchildren had always been fascinated by dragons, but all it took was seeing an enormous black dragon roaring so menacingly in the sky for even those who admired them to tremble in fear.

The king turned his gaze toward the stands. People had fallen to the ground, pushing one another. Some were already injured by the chaos, trampled underfoot... It was a complete disaster. The horses were completely frantic, trying to break free, many still tethered as they desperately pulled against their restraints.

He searched for the men of the North, but they also seemed to have already left the area.

"Come on! Let's get back to the camp!" Lord Stark carried his daughter in his arms while supporting his wife with the other. Rickon ran behind his father. Lyarra followed close behind, pushing Jon so he would keep moving.

"But do you think he's..." Jon murmured as he watched the dragon circling the sky. Then he thought of something. If it was here because of him...

"Wait... Wait! Let me check something," Jon said as he came to a stop.

"What is going through your head right now, boy? There's a giant dragon about to breathe fire on us, and this is exactly when you want to stop?" Lyarra scolded him, her voice filled with irritation.

"I know... But..." Jon looked lost. "I think I can make him leave."

Lyarra stared at him. "What do you mean by that?"

"Trust me... I didn't want to tell anyone before. I didn't want to say that... maybe the dragon really is here because of me."

"Are you sure?" Lyarra asked when she saw the confidence in Jon's eyes.

As the boy simply nodded, she looked toward her son, who was ahead with the guards. "Mother! What are you doing?" Lord Stark shouted when he realized she had stopped.

"Keep going. Protect Rickon, Lyra, and Alys," Lyarra replied.

The man looked confused and certainly indignant, but he had no choice except to continue following the crowd.

"Let's go somewhere high," Jon said as he ran toward a hill covered with trees.

From there they could see the entire area around Harrenhal: the tournament grounds, the castle farther away, and the camps. The whole place was in complete chaos. People ran in every direction while the frightened screams of women still echoed throughout the area.

The dragon continued circling the region, passing close to them as if searching for something.

"He's looking for me..." Jon murmured. He could feel the dragon's anger.

"What are you planning to do?" Lyarra asked as she crouched beside Jon. The two guards remained nearby at Lyarra's command, staying alert.

"I want to try something." Jon closed his eyes and focused his mind the same way he did whenever he entered the consciousness of animals, seeing, in a way, through their minds.

Immediately, he expanded his consciousness. It invaded the dragon's mind, just as it had in his dreams.

The dragon noticed at once. The enormous creature shook its head and roared.

It had clearly been disturbed by feeling that consciousness trying to invade its mind once again. That only made it even angrier. Its roars grew even louder, spreading even more chaos throughout the area.

"Jon... What did you do?" Lyarra asked. She had certainly noticed the change. The dragon would not have become so enraged without a reason.

"I tried to enter his mind... but I couldn't," Jon said in frustration, while Lyarra abandoned whatever other question she had been about to ask.

At that very moment, Jon seemed to understand the reason for his failure. He could only fully enter the minds of creatures when his consciousness was relaxed, almost empty, when he was asleep.

Maybe he needed to act the same way he did in his dreams. Suddenly, his eyes turned completely white. Entering a dragon's mind demanded far more concentration than entering the mind of any other animal.

Then so be it. His consciousness surged forward with far greater force into the creature's mind, now that Jon devoted all of his attention solely to that.

Lyarra was completely stunned by the boy's eyes before her. She was fortunate that neither of the two guards accompanying them, who were still trembling as they watched the dragon through the treetops from where they were hidden, paid any attention to Jon. She, however, couldn't take her eyes off those completely white eyes.

"Go away... Return to Dragonstone." Jon's voice roared inside the creature's mind.

Just as he had stopped Cannibal from devouring another dragon some time ago, he now tried to impose another command. He only wanted him to leave. To stop causing trouble.

The dragon, however, seemed completely dissatisfied. It roared as it tried to locate Jon.

"Go away." The command persisted, and Cannibal seemed deeply disturbed.

"Go away."

"Go away."

"You can't cause trouble here. Return to Dragonstone."

While the outside world remained engulfed in chaos, with an enormous dragon flying over Harrenhal and thousands of people searching for shelter, a mental battle had begun between a child and a gigantic dragon.

It was already a completely one-sided battle by its very nature, yet Jon still persisted. "Go away... Go away... Go away... Return to Dragonstone."

He kept repeating those words inside Cannibal's mind and tried to deepen the connection, making it even stronger than the one he had forged in his dreams.

Then, all of a sudden, images began to appear in the mind of the gigantic black dragon.

A man entering a gigantic cave atop a mountain.

Green eyes shone in the darkness, followed by a roar and flames.

A white dragon leaped onto the black dragon and knocked it down.

The white dragon flew out of the cave, and the black dragon followed it.

The four-legged white dragon raced through the sky above the sea while being pursued by the black dragon across the heavens.

When they landed for the first time, they were in a land very much like the forests of the North. The man jumped from the white dragon's back and struck one of the black dragon's eyes. The white dragon, whose leg had been injured by the black dragon's teeth, managed to take flight once again.

The pursuit and battle immediately returned to the skies.

The black dragon continued chasing the white creature, but its face was now covered in blood flowing from its wounded eye. Its neck had also been torn open by the white dragon's teeth.

Monstrous roars echoed across the heavens as the white dragon used some kind of ability to increase its speed even further.

The two crossed what appeared to be the North, traveled beyond Braavos, crossed the Dothraki Sea, and continued toward the far north, entering storms and frozen seas.

Then a barrage of lightning struck the black dragon, whose body was covered with metal spears that acted as lightning rods.

At the same time, it was hurled against a gigantic wall of ice created by the white dragon. Krakens carried the black dragon atop the ice to the shore beyond the storm.

The images changed once again.

The black dragon had been tamed by that man.

He called him Vezofēdrur. It meant "Green Phoenix."

The memories kept surfacing. In one of them, that man rode the black dragon as they fought side by side against an army of terrifying blue-eyed creatures.

In another memory, the dragon simply charged at a smaller dragon that never stood a chance. The man wearing an eyepatch who rode that creature could only widen his eyes before being swallowed alive.

A single bite was all it took. The smaller dragon was torn in half.

More and more images passed before Jon.

Until he could no longer endure them.

His eyes returned to normal as a violent headache struck him. Jon groaned in pain and dropped to his knees, immediately being caught by Lyarra before he could collapse to the ground.

"Jon! Jon! Are you alright? What was that?" she asked, deeply worried.

"I... I don't know..." Jon murmured, still trying to catch his breath.

The guards, however, became even more agitated. "My lady! It's coming! The dragon is coming this way!" one of them shouted.

Everyone looked back toward the sky. The enormous dragon was flying straight toward them.

Jon was certain that the dragon had seen those images as well. The creature seemed completely confused too. And so was Jon.

It felt strange to him that the dragon in those visions had been much larger than this one, perhaps thirty or forty meters longer. Once again, that strange feeling overcame him.

It felt as though he were seeing the future. A future incredibly distant, according to the Yi Ti calendar he had witnessed some time ago.

But he barely had time to think about it. The dragon simply beat its wings to slow itself down and landed on the ground.

The guards accompanying them cried out in fear. Since they were hidden atop a tree-covered hill, no one could see them from below.

From beyond the trees, the dragon slowly approached, using the claws on its wings to move across the ground while stretching its head through the treetops, pushing aside every branch as it stared only at the boy and the woman.

The guards trembled, already expecting death. But the dragon, with its greenish eyes full of malice, kept its gaze fixed on Jon.

The boy, in turn, showed no fear. Only curiosity. It was as though he were trying to unravel a mystery he still did not understand.

The dragon seemed to be acting the same way. The two simply stared at each other for several moments.

Then Jon blinked, remembering what he needed to do. "Please... go away," he said in High Valyrian. "Return to Dragonstone."

The dragon blinked a few times, but instead of obeying, it moved even closer. Lyarra was pushed aside as the enormous creature brought its snout right up to Jon.

No one had time to react. Jon simply reached out his hand, expecting to be thrown away. But the dragon stopped the instant it felt his touch.

Its scales were warm, and Jon let out a sigh with a smile he couldn't hold back.

"By the gods..." one of the guards murmured.

Lyarra remained completely tense beside them.

The dragon continued staring at Jon. The hostility from before was gone.

It was just as confused as the boy. Jon looked back into the creature's enormous eyes.

"Please... go away. Your presence here is causing far too much chaos. Return to Dragonstone," he repeated in High Valyrian.

To his surprise, the dragon seemed to respond. Without taking its eyes off the boy, it slowly began to back away.

Everyone remained hidden atop the hill as the enormous head finally disappeared among the trees. Soon after, the creature began to turn its body.

Then it beat its wings, and a roar echoed in the distance.

Caraxes finally took flight. Meleys followed shortly after. Cannibal, however, continued flying east.

The other two dragons began following him, as if they wanted to make sure he truly left.

And fortunately, it seemed they were succeeding. Cannibal never looked back even once.

Jon felt someone grab him by the arm. "Let's go. Quickly!" Lyarra said urgently.

Then she turned to the two guards. "Everything that happened here... you will not tell anyone. Understood?" Her voice was firm. "Not a single word about what happened here. Not even to my son."

"Yes, my lady," both of them replied immediately, swallowing hard.

Lyarra was certain they would obey. And so, the four of them quickly descended the hill.

No one had managed to see them. The small forest had concealed them, preventing them from having to step directly onto the road.

The dragon's presence in that area had drawn too much attention. Taking advantage of the confusion, they blended into the crowd that was still fleeing in complete panic and managed to return to the Northern camp.

Jon had no idea what the hell had happened, but his eyes never stopped looking east, almost able to make out the small figures disappearing beyond the horizon.

"Mother!" Lord Stark shouted as soon as he saw Lyarra approaching. "Mother, what in the gods' name were you thinking? Where did you go?" Rickard demanded.

His gaze shifted between her and Jon. The two guards accompanying them avoided looking at him. They were still extremely nervous and trembling after seeing the head of an enormous dragon so close that it could have crushed them like ants.

"I had to take care of something," Lyarra replied in a firm tone.

"Take care of something? There was a dragon on the loose, Mother!" Rickard said, still irritated. His eyes scanned Lyarra and Jon for any injuries. "I hope you're both alright."

"We're fine. And the dragon is gone," she replied.

Without offering any further explanation, she took Jon by the hand and started leading him toward the tent. "He's a little shaken," she simply said.

Jon looked at her with a confused expression. He wasn't shaken. Before he could say anything, Lyarra gave him a gentle push to keep him walking.

"Jon! Where were you?" Rickon shouted as soon as he saw him.

Lyra also ran toward them. "The dragon is gone, Jon!" she said, but she looked confused as Jon was being dragged away by their grandmother. "Grandma, where are you taking him?" the girl asked.

"We'll be back soon," Lyarra replied before continuing on, leaving the two grandchildren confused.

She led Jon to one of the tents behind the main one, where Jon slept. The boy, still completely bewildered, simply let himself be led along.

As soon as they entered, Lyarra closed the tent flap and sat him down on the bed. Then she crouched in front of him.

"Tell me, Jon... What happened back there?" There were too many coincidences to ignore.

Jon swallowed hard. He wanted to keep that secret. But after what Lyarra had seen, he couldn't simply keep hiding everything.

Even the two guards had been left outside the tent. Neither of them would be allowed to leave before Lyarra spoke with them, despite their already having promised to remain silent.

She still needed to understand exactly what had happened. With a long sigh, Jon began to explain.

He spoke about the dreams. Dreams in which he entered the mind of a dragon. That very same dragon. A creature that lived in an enormous cave on Dragonstone.

Jon explained that the dragon had become extremely enraged after he had stopped it from devouring another dragon while he was still dreaming.

Ever since then, every night when he fell asleep, he felt the creature looking toward the west. As though it were trying to find him. That had continued until this day, when the dragon had simply appeared.

"I wasn't asleep... so I couldn't sense what he was doing before. That's why I had no way of knowing he was coming here."

He then explained how he had tried to use all of his strength to enter the creature's mind and control it. He described how he had needed to concentrate so much power that he had completely lost awareness of his own body.

"It wasn't like entering the mind of any other animal," he explained. "It was... much more difficult. Much more powerful." Then he recounted the images he had seen.

Strange images. Visions of a black dragon beside a man.

Battles.

Other dragons.

Everything seemed to be part of that creature's memories... and his...

As Jon finished explaining, Lyarra remained deep in thought. "Jon, you must not tell anyone about this," she said urgently. "Never let people even suspect that you have any connection to a Targaryen dragon."

"But I've never told anyone. I even kept it hidden from all of you," Jon replied.

Lyarra wasn't offended. She simply nodded. "Exactly. And keep doing that. There are some secrets that shouldn't be shared, not even with us. If it weren't for what we just witnessed, I would have preferred that you kept all of this hidden. It's far too dangerous. It could put all of us at risk."

Jon remained silent for a few moments. "Alright, Grandma." Then he gave a small smile. "Thank you... Thank you for listening to me."

Lyarra stepped closer and hugged him. "You are a Stark, Jon... But above all, you are still my grandson. Even though we don't directly share the same blood, I see a lot of the Starks in you, just as I see it in Rickon, Lyra, and Benjen."

Jon felt a warmth spread through his chest. Without realizing it, a much brighter smile appeared on his face. "Thank you, Grandma."
