Chapter 702: Evidence

“Being a dog is not so bad. Hao Jue controls a lot of hidden information. A lot of key players in this city are my dogs. Doesn’t that make you feel a lot better?” The woman let her clothes fall. “So many people are begging to be my dog. Shouldn’t you take advantage of my offer?”

Escape was impossible. This horrible woman had seen Lee Sansi’s face. She would never let him go. Gao Ming couldn’t afford to offend Wan Sheng Gang. It would implicate Ding Xiang and Jia Youzhi.

“Have you come to a decision?” The woman placed her feet on the waiter’s corpse.

“I have.” Gao Ming aimed the gun at the woman’s head. “You should accompany your victims in hell.” The head exploded. Gao Ming fired a few more shots to be safe. He was like a real cleaner and started to expertly wipe away his fingerprints and clean up the crime scene. Gao Ming didn’t get the money but got himself into hot water. His brain spun.

“The woman mentioned that Hao Jue is in control of much hidden information. Are there hidden cameras here? Would they have captured me?” Gao Ming became anxious. He put on the gloves and inspected the room. Finally, he found a black-and-white room card and a red key in the woman’s pocket.

“Room 4018? Isn’t Room 4017 the last?”

Gao Ming exited Room 4017 and inspected the wall. He noticed an indentation in the wall. After he scanned the black-and-white card, he entered a special guestroom. It was filled with surveillance devices and recordings.

“How cunning.” Gao Ming took in the locked cupboards. The different keys corresponded to varying levels of confidentiality. Gao Ming couldn’t access most of them. He tossed the documents and USB drives inside the drawer with the red lock into his bag. After he did that, he searched for videos related to him and deleted them. To be safe, he destroyed the device. Gao Ming was about to leave when he remembered Hei Ao. He entered Hei Ao’s room and dumped Hei Ao’s used items in the woman’s room. Gao Ming left via the elevator. The chaos on the first floor was still ensuing. The conflict between Wan Sheng and Zhu Chuan was deep and historical. However, due to the pressure from the Night Police, they had to form a temporary truce.

Gao Ming reverted to his cowardly self. As he shivered, he didn’t forget to pick up the money from the ground. After getting smacked a few times, he reached the exit and ran away.

He entered the back alley. Jia Youzhi and Ding Xiang were anxious. They approached Gao Ming. “How was it? Did you get the money?”

“I didn’t even see him. The elevator doesn’t have a fourth floor.” Gao Ming grumbled. “Your informant cannot be trusted. The people of Zhu Chuan and Wan Cheng are fighting in the lobby. I was hit a few times. I almost died in there.”

“That’s impossible.” Ding Xiang shook her head. Wu Wei looked disappointed. Jia Youzhi glanced at Gao Ming.

“We are failures at everything. Why would we succeed at this?” Jia Youzhi glanced at his watch. “It’s about to be midnight. We should return to the studio.” The four were disappointed. They combined their money to call a cab and returned to the studio before midnight.

“Quick. Close the doors and windows!” Jia Youzhi ordered. Ding Xiang and Wu Wei moved swiftly.

Gao Ming scanned Lee Sansi’s memory and understood that the city was chaotic at night. Strange deaths were common. Other than the cleaners and night police, even gang members rarely went out at night.

“What are the gang members afraid of? Is something hiding in the city at night?” Gao Ming remembered Yuan Qing’s daughter’s eyes filling up with black lines when she was angry. They looked like worms or capillaries. “This is the dark altar’s world. I need to find the core.”

The streets after midnight were different from the day. Gao Ming wanted to go out to take a look, but his body was too weak.

“Director Lee, we’ve locked all the doors and windows. You should rest. We’ll find Bu Ming again tomorrow.” Wu Wei glanced at the bag Gao Ming carried. She didn’t care and found a spot to sleep.

The lights went out. After Jia Youzhi and Ding Xiang dozed off, Gao Ming got up silently. He walked to the only computer in the studio and uploaded the videos he had gotten earlier into it. The screen lit up. The videos were blurry, but one could see a woman pinned to the wall and hear Hei Ao’s voice. Due to the angle, the woman murdered by Hei Ao didn’t show up on screen. Gao Ming put on the headphones as he planned something huge. His host owed too many people. It was impossible for him to repay all the debts. Therefore, he planned to turn his enemies against each other.

“This computer is so laggy.”

Gao Ming pulled up the video where he shot the crazy woman and started to edit. He wanted to pin Hei Ao as the woman’s killer. During that period of time, only Gao Ming and Hei Ao had been to the fourth floor. Gao Ming was not caught by the camera. No one cared about a small fry like him, so Hei Ao was the biggest suspect.

“Let go! Who do you think you are?”

“I hate bitches like you who don’t know their good fortune! Damn you!”

“I should have killed her a long time ago. How dare she threaten me?”

Hei Ao’s voice was spliced into the video. Gao Ming deleted the original videos, so only the ‘real’ evidence remained.

“If Zhu Chuan and Wan Sheng start fighting, the Night Police will be the happiest. They are highly ambitious. I can make use of that.” Gao Ming sent the prepared video to the drive. “A gang fight will kill many people and create many openings.”

Malice appeared in Lee Sansi’s heart, and it turned into black lines. They crawled through his body. Gao Ming noticed them instantly. When he had an evil thought and put it into action, the black lines hidden in his heart would grow and spread. The black lines strengthened his body and empowered him.

“When Hei Ao and that woman wanted to murder, their eyes were taken over by black lines. Is this the reward for committing sins? What a maddening place.”
