Chapter 2660: Story 2661: The Seventh Child

  • Next Chapter

The kingdom began to bleed.

Red liquid filled the cracks beneath Kael’s feet.

The seventh mark on his chest burned hotter.

Kael gripped his sword.

“Who is that child?”

The creature behind the throne remained silent.

Then the voice came.

“Brother...”

The sixth child stared into darkness.

“I know that voice.”

Azael turned sharply.

“You heard it before?”

The sixth child nodded.

“In the place where my name was erased.”

The stranger stepped forward.

“Do not answer it.”

Kael looked at him.

“Why?”

“Because the seventh does not call from outside.”

The throne suddenly shattered.

A black hand rose from beneath it.

Lena released a wave of red energy.

The hand stopped.

Elias’s golden veins flared.

Azael raised his weapon.

The fifth child spread his wings.

All six stood together.

Then the seventh mark on Kael’s chest opened like an eye.

A vision struck.

He saw seven cradles.

Six children slept.

The seventh cradle stood apart.

A woman of white fire held a newborn.

Behind her stood the King Before Kings.

But his crown was broken.

Kael heard his ancient voice.

“Hide him.”

The woman screamed.

“I cannot.”

“You must.”

“From whom?”

The king looked into the darkness.

“From the one who has no beginning.”

The vision changed.

The seventh child was carried through darkness.

Something followed.

It had no body, face, or name.

Only a single white eye.

Kael suddenly understood.

“The seventh child was not stolen.”

Everyone looked at him.

“He was hidden.”

The stranger became pale.

“Yes.”

“By whom?”

Before he could answer, the kingdom shook.

A heartbeat echoed.

Boom.

The sixth child fell.

Boom.

Elias grabbed his chest.

Boom.

Lena’s red symbol burned.

The fifth child whispered,

“It is waking.”

Kael looked at the creature behind the throne.

“What is waking?”

The creature finally spoke.

“Not what.”

Its crown cracked.

“Who.”

The bones fell away.

Beneath them stood a warrior.

He looked human.

Long silver hair covered it.

His armor was white.

His eyes were empty.

Azael stepped backward.

“I know him.”

Kael stared.

“Who?”

Azael’s voice trembled.

“The one who trained me in darkness.”

The warrior lifted his head.

“I did not train you.”

Azael froze.

“I prepared you.”

“For what?”

The warrior pointed at Kael.

“To kill Azrael.”

Kael raised his blade.

He smiled.

“But that was before I remembered the seventh.”

The sixth child stood.

“Who am I?”

The warrior looked at him.

“You are the forgotten brother.”

The fifth child stepped forward.

“And the seventh?”

The warrior turned toward Kael.

“The seventh is not a child.”

Silence filled the kingdom.

Kael’s blood froze.

“Then what is it?”

The warrior pointed at the glowing mark on Kael’s chest.

“The seventh is the soul that remembers all six.”

The mark exploded with light.

Every symbol appeared around him.

Azael’s.

Lena’s.

Elias’s.

The fifth child’s.

The sixth child’s.

And the empty seventh.

They connected.

The warrior whispered,

“Now the First Soul can awaken.”

The kingdom cried.

And beneath Kael’s feet, something opened its eyes.
