Chapter 1127: Chapter 812: Reunion After a Long Separation
As one of the three major Magic Schools in Europe, located in the country where the famous Alchemist Nicolas Flamel was born, France is equally renowned in the Magic Realm.
Although its fame and reputation are not as prominent as the United Kingdom, there is one thing... The Minister of Magic in France can proudly say at diplomatic meetings that, for the past few centuries, no infamous Dark Wizard has ever emerged from their country, making its reputation far better than the United Kingdom by countless times.
It was only seventy years ago that Grindelwald suddenly came here and held a rally, breaking France’s centuries-long peace.
But that was the only time. Since Grindelwald, this side has remained peaceful, making French Wizards appear more leisurely than those in the United Kingdom.
In Paris, at the center of Place de Furstemberg, is a uniquely shaped building that, from the outside, looks like an arrow pointing to the left, essentially a vertical triangle.
Its unique design attracts a lot of attention, making it a local attraction, though most people don’t know that this building is even more famous in the Magic Realm.
Because this is the renowned French Ministry of Magic, which is also Kael’s destination for this journey.
Although the drunken Muggle didn’t respond to Kael’s words, upon hearing the question, the answer had already appeared in his mind.
So Kael didn’t need an answer, for the Wampus Cat saw everything clearly, including the exact location and the city’s map route.
Fortunately, Kael was not far from Place de Furstemberg at the time, just a few streets away, and arrived within half an hour.
At eight o’clock, Kael looked at the massive glass door in front of him, adjusted his clothes, and calmly walked over.
He wasn’t concerned about security or the open door, but approached the fountain in front of the building.
There are two statues here. Kael pondered for a moment and chose the Pegasus statue on the left. As he walked over, the Pegasus’s wings lifted, revealing a passage.
With one step, the scene before him transformed instantly.
The bustling streets and skyscrapers vanished, replaced by a series of uniquely shaped buildings, with passersby no longer wearing suits, dresses, or fashionable shirts, but the distinctive robes of Wizards.
The French "Diagon Alley."
Of course, it definitely isn’t called Diagon Alley here, but the meaning is the same: a Shop Street accessible only to Wizards.
"Luckily, I didn’t choose wrongly." Kael breathed a sigh of relief. He remembered that Fleur had mentioned there were two open entrances here, one leading to this place and the other to the Ministry of Magic. If he had accidentally taken the wrong path, he would have to explain to the Aurors why he was here.
Thankfully, his memory was quite good.
Kael continued walking forward, curiously observing the shops on the French side.
To the left of the entrance is a large candy store, at least five times larger than Honeydukes, filled with various candies in styles Kael hadn’t seen before, more than half of which were chocolate.
It might be because Beauxbatons also started school, so there weren’t many people in the store.
Opposite the candy store should be a stationery shop, even though Kael couldn’t understand the French signs written in a special font, he recognized Quills and Parchment, and didn’t need to read the signs.
Further ahead were the Broomstick Shop, pet shop, bookstore, souvenir shop, second-hand goods store, and the most conspicuous in the middle of the street, the Gringotts Wizarding Bank made of white marble.
The types of shops here were very similar to those in Diagon Alley, but the styles were completely different.
Diagon Alley maintains a centuries-old traditional style, with buildings from the last century... or even earlier, never appearing out of place in any era.
In contrast, the French side was obviously newer, with many buildings Kael could tell at a glance were recent creations.
There was even an anti-theft door on the Broomstick Shop... one of those metal security doors.
Kael found it hard to believe such a thing could withstand the Unlocking Charm.
He kept walking forward, passing Gringotts and a noisy bar, and stopped near the end of the street.
"Prince Apothecary."
Kael glanced at its conventional French sign and nodded, "This should be the place."
But what puzzled Kael was that all the surrounding shops were open for business, yet this place was closed, with no goods displayed in the windows.
Could it be that Conna was not here?
Kael was momentarily stunned, then took another look at the sign.
Prince... this can’t be wrong, it’s hard to think that there could be another Prince here in France.
With a trial mindset, he stepped forward and knocked on the door.
There was no response from inside.
He knocked several more times, yielding the same result.
"Really? Not in?"
Kael was somewhat puzzled. How could it be that no one was here, with Fleur’s address and the shop name matching?
Could it be that Conna didn’t open a shop here in France and went somewhere else?
As Kael hesitated whether to send Fleur’s letter, there was finally some movement inside the shop.
"Sorry, not operating today."
The moment he heard the voice, Kael felt relieved.
Even though she spoke in French, Kael could still recognize it was Conna speaking.
