Chapter 1128: Chapter 213: Silent Terror (Part 3)

His gaze, like a poisoned dagger, instantly locked onto Sir William.

The hall fell into dead silence for a second.

The new Poppets seated among the guests maintained their "elegant postures," but their eyes collectively shifted towards the intruder.

The Vampires, Werewolves, and other Poppets stationed on the stage also slowly adjusted their standing positions, facing the two conflicting parties.

William’s wheelchair came to a halt. He turned around and looked at Bloren, not with surprise, but with an almost weary calm.

"Mr. Bloren."

William said coldly, "Is there something you need at this late hour? I don’t recall inviting you to today’s exhibition?"

He cast his gaze at another person who hurriedly followed Bloren into the venue.

Illari, sweating profusely, explained nervously:

"I... I didn’t mean to, Mr. Bloren suddenly found me, he saw those people... and then asked me what’s going on..."

He had been following Bloren for a long time and couldn’t lie when questioned.

"Oh, that’s rather impolite of you, Bloren."

William said, "You’re both my guests; it’s not like in the past when you hid in the sewers, arguing the ranks over a piece of moldy bread."

Illari lowered his head.

Bloren let out a cold laugh, filled with barely contained mockery and resentment:

"Manners? Sir William, talking about manners with someone who shut his doors for more than twenty consecutive days, letting his assistant fob off ’old friends’ with excuses? Isn’t that a bit ridiculous?"

He took a few steps forward, his boots crunching on broken glass, emitting a sharp "creak":

"Like a despised dog, I’m waiting for news in your manor!"

"Those chubby, well-dressed guests can swagger in, being thoughtfully entertained by your assistant, attending your groundbreaking exhibition."

"And I—who provided you with the crucial technical support, helped you resolve countless troubles, even placed the remaining forces of the Scourers in your hands—can’t even receive an invitation?"

His voice grew louder, finally unleashing the anger suppressed for many days:

"Sir, is this how the Stonefield Clan treats partners? Use and discard? Burn bridges after crossing?!"

"Watch your words!"

Chris couldn’t help but step forward, standing in front of his grandfather’s wheelchair, his face full of displeasure and contempt:

"Who do you think you’re talking to? Stonefield doesn’t need to explain our arrangements to anyone! Especially not to a stray dog—"

William lifted his withered hand, gently patting his grandson’s arm, signaling him to step back.

Chris obediently took half a step back, but his eyes remained fixed on Bloren.

William’s gaze returned to Bloren, he smiled, leaning slightly forward, asking with exceptional seriousness:

"So, Mr. Bloren, what do you think... in the current situation, what value do you still have for Stonefield to continue collaborating with you?"

The words were spoken with utmost calm, yet more devastating than any insult.

Bloren’s body began to visibly tremble. Not out of fear, but from extreme anger and humiliation.

"Value? Hahahahaha..."

He let out a series of short and sharp laughter, his Magic Wand slightly trembling from being gripped too tightly.

"William Stonefield, have you grown senile, or do you think Bloren is an idiot?"

He abruptly raised his Magic Wand, pointing at the quietly seated new Poppets in the venue:

"That one! The guy in the third row, I just saw Illari extracting his memory, how is it that in the blink of an eye, he appears perfectly fine in the venue?"

He raised his eyebrows proudly, assertively saying:

"You want to replace these people, William Stonefield! You want to swallow these families’ assets without shedding a drop of blood! Am I wrong?"

"With your plan about to succeed, there’s no way you can abandon our Poppets! With this, you still want to kick me aside and hog all the benefits?"

Bloren sneered, looking at the "speechless" Stonefields, angrily saying:

"Very well. Since you think I have no value... there are others who know how much benefit I can bring them! And your plan... soon, everyone in the world will know!"

"Even Stonefield can’t handle the siege of hundreds of families simultaneously, can it?"

He laughed coldly, determined, but in reality, Bloren had no intention of doing this.

He only wanted to increase his leverage in negotiations for greater benefits.

But on the surface, Bloren decisively turned and said:

"Illari! Take all the Poppets and leave with me! The Stonefield Family isn’t worth us staying!"

The sound echoed in the empty hall.

No one responded.

The Poppets—whether the seated "guests" or the "performers" standing—remained quietly in place, without any movement or even a glance exchanged.

Illari cowered by the door, looking at Bloren, then at William Stonefield, ultimately turning his begging gaze towards the assistant, Paul.

Bloren’s face started to turn white.

He shouted again: "Illari! How dare you disobey me? I said leave!! And you lot—"

He pointed at the Poppets, roaring, "Obey orders!"

The oppressive silence persisted.

Chris’s mouth corner involuntarily lifted, William slowly shook his head, his face showing a cold smile mixed with pity and ridicule:

"Mr. Bloren, do you really think... these Poppets still need to obey your orders?"

He snapped his fingers lightly.

Snap!

A crisp sound.

In the next second, all the Poppets in the venue stood up and turned uniformly in Bloren’s direction.
