Hogwarts: Bloodline Legend
Chapter 1229: An Absurd Era
Chapter 1229: Chapter 395: An Absurd Era
The last thing Ian saw was the red alerts frantically flashing on the control panel, then the entire Time Machine was thrown out of the Time Passage by an irresistible force, plummeting into an unknown time period.
When he woke up again, he found himself lying on a patch of grass. The air was filled with an unfamiliar scent, and the color of the sky seemed unlike any era he remembered. Beside him, the once-cool Time Machine had now become a heap of smoking scrap metal, with occasional electric sparks leaping between the broken wires.
Ian sat up with difficulty and checked his body. Apart from a few scrapes and bruises, he seemed fine. His white robe was soaked with mud and grass, but the golden halo still faintly shimmered beneath his skin. The lead box he carried was still safely inside his robe pocket.
The fragments of the Eye of Ra were unharmed.
“Well, at least the most important thing isn’t lost,” Ian muttered to himself wryly. He dared not be careless and put the lead box, which he hadn’t had time to put into the Money Bag before, into the bag now.
Ian’s Money Bag, after repeated enhancements, wasn’t just an ordinary item with an Enlargement Charm, but also had many Protective Magic spells cast on this space-storage equipment.
After all, with everything he owned packed inside, if an accident resulted in the equipment’s damage, Ian’s belongings would be scattered all over the place.
Just like running into a fairy, who could withstand that?
“Cough cough… Who designed the landing system? They should be sent to dig mines with those who don’t speak the language!” Ian complained as he stood up and looked around.
This was a dark forest, towering ancient trees blocked the sky, and vines coiled around the trunks like snakes. The air was thick with a damp earthy smell and some ancient aura. In the distance, there was the babbling of a stream and the calls of unknown birds. The sky was covered by heavy clouds, blocking out the sun, with only faint daylight filtering through.
“Where is this?” Ian frowned, struggling to stand up, and kicked the smoking wreckage of the Time Machine, “Where is Camelot? Where are the Round Table Knights? There’s not even a shadow of a castle!”
The climate was mild and the vegetation lush. Aside from ruling out that he’d arrived in the Jurassic, he couldn’t determine which era or location he was in for the moment.
The already destroyed Time Machine suddenly emitted one last crackling sound, then fell completely silent.
He took out the Magic Compass he carried with him—a little trick taught by Morgan, capable of sensing the era’s magic fluctuations. But the compass needle spun wildly, eventually stopping at a vague direction, pointing deep into the forest.
“Energy disruption… era confusion?” Ian squinted, “Could it be that force just now didn’t just interfere, but actually threw me into a… unknown time point?”
This was just a guess.
“Damn, am I stuck in this era without a way back?” Ian walked over to inspect the wreckage and found that the core components were also damaged—not impossible to repair, but couldn’t be done easily.
He still had many aspects of this Titan Technology he hadn’t studied thoroughly, plus, even with his excellent skills, he lacked the Alchemy Materials necessary for Miracle Healing.
“The materials used in Titan Technology are different from the materials I have in reserve. Trying to synthesize replacements is quite a workload.” Ian was, after all, a Little Wizard from Hogwarts in the late 20th century. Most of his alchemy material reserves came from that era, quite different from those of the Titans’ era.
Although during time travel, Ian had collected many ancient alchemy materials and had quite a harvest, the ancient alchemy materials still differed from those of the Titans.
After all, no matter how ancient, who could be more ancient than the Titans’ era?
“Looks like I’ll have to find the local Mage for help.” Ian sighed and began salvaging whatever usable items he could from the rubble, mostly the pieces of the Time Machine that could still be used. After all, not everything was blown away; many parts that escaped the full impact of the explosion could be recovered and repaired.
“Actually, there isn’t much left to use, indeed.” Ian stood before the wreckage of the Time Machine, his brows furrowed. Although he had anticipated severe damage, the sight of the smoking scrap metal still made his heart sink.
“Mend as before!”
Ian attempted to take shortcuts with a Mending Charm.
He sighed, waved his Magic Wand lightly, and a golden light shrouded the pieces of the Time Machine. The Mending Spell he had personally upgraded had once rebuilt shattered Pyramid stones and restored the broken Nile River embankments and could even override the consensus of wizards to act on most Magic Items.
However, at this moment, these powerful repair magics had little effect on the wreckage of the Time Machine. The pieces barely quivered and made a few weak clicking sounds, then fell silent again.
“As expected, it won’t work…” Ian muttered to himself. This Time Machine was a fusion of Titan Technology and magical craftsmanship, with complexities far exceeding ordinary Magic Items. Especially the core location’s time drive module, employed cross-dimensional technological principles not manageable by conventional Mending Charms.
He squatted down to examine the rubble closely. The control panel was completely melted, the navigation device shattered into dozens of pieces, and worst of all, the time drive core—the crystal that should have been glowing blue was now dull, its surface covered with cracks, clearly indicating significant damage.
