Chapter 233: Chapter 233 One Post That Changed Everything

Eira ended the call and found everyone in the room watching her.

Kate’s red lips curved into a slow, approving smile. Barry gave her a quiet nod.

"Congratulations."

Alpha Killian looked less impressed. He stood by the window with his arms crossed, his silver-gray eyes fixed on her.

"Filing the case won’t stop Alpha Sebastian tonight," he said. "The court process takes time. By then, he’ll have lawyers, publicists, and half the city feeding the press his version."

A faint trace of mint followed him as he stepped closer.

"So don’t start with the paperwork," he continued. "Start with the truth. Put it where everyone can see it."

Eira understood immediately.

She opened her social media account and typed:

Six weeks ago, I signed a mate-separation agreement with Alpha Sebastian Hale. Two weeks ago, our bond was legally dissolved. We are no longer mated.

She attached two documents, the registered Mate Bond certificate and the official Mate Status Dissolution Certificate.

Alpha Killian liked the post first.

Kate followed, then Barry, Natalie, Miles, Lila , Davies, Beatrice, and Felix.

The comments rushed in almost at once.

Then one comment stood out.

Soren: Is the translation on my end broken?

Eira looked up. "Soren saw it."

"And?"

She handed Alpha Killian the phone.

"Answer him in English," he said. "Make it impossible to misunderstand."

Eira switched keyboards and replied directly. There was no translation error. She and Alpha Alpha Sebastian had been divorced for weeks. The gala where she had appeared on his arm had not been voluntary. Alpha Alpha Sebastian had pressured her into attending.

She ended with a polite apology for any confusion.

Soren read the message at home and nearly knocked over his coffee. His first instinct was to call Alpha Sebastian.

Then his phone filled with alerts.

The post had already reached Fiona.

Barry had sent her a screenshot with a short warning:

The boy Alpha Alpha Sebastian used to control Eira has been found. He’s injured, and the school is under investigation. Eira has gone public and is preparing legal action.

If the Carter Group wants to protect its interests, cut Alpha Alpha Sebastian loose before this spreads further.

Alpha Killian noticed the messages on Barry’s screen and said nothing.

Let the leak spread.

Once the Carters withdrew their support, Alpha Sebastian’s access to capital would shrink fast. The board would demand answers. His legal problems would multiply while his public image collapsed.

For the first time, Alpha Sebastian would have no one left to hide behind.

The post reached Hale Tower before his public-relations team could react.

His phone rang again and again. The executive group chat exploded with accusations, screenshots, and questions he could not answer.

The storm had begun.

The Snowmark deal had barely launched. If the Carters pulled their support, Hale Group might survive the fallout.

Alpha Sebastian would not.

Worse, Eira had found Sam. A lawsuit was coming, and Sam was hurt. Whatever fragile hope Alpha Sebastian had been clinging to had finally snapped.

He called Serena.

"Eira filed," he said, his voice flat. "Get the money ready. Don’t say I didn’t warn you."

He ended the call before she could answer.

--

Serena was at the Winthrop estate. She had taken the call in front of Alpha Victor.

Alpha Victor’s face darkened.

"Serena." His voice shook the room. "This is what you called settled? This is what you said you had handled privately?"

Her phone nearly slipped from her hand.

"I don’t know what happened," she said quickly. "I don’t know why Eira suddenly changed her mind."

"You don’t know?" Alpha Victor’s face had gone pale with rage. "Then who does?"

"Grandfather, I swear, I never thought she would actually file."

"No." His disappointment cut deeper than his anger. "You never thought she could."

"Go to your parents, Serena. They’ve been living off university salaries and research money for years. If they saved anything for you, let them spend it now."

The words left Serena speechless.

She turned and stormed out of the estate.

By the time she reached her car, her anger had given way to panic. A sharp pain twisted through her lower abdomen.

She stopped and pressed a hand against her stomach.

Instead of going home, Serena drove straight to the emergency department and asked to be evaluated.

In the exam room, the emergency physician reviewed Serena’s chart.

"You said you’re about five weeks pregnant?"

Serena nodded. "I saw an OB a few weeks ago. They confirmed the pregnancy and did an ultrasound, but I don’t have the records with me."

"That’s okay. We’ll request them from the office. Since you’re having abdominal pain, we’ll run our own tests today."

He entered several orders into the computer.

"We’ll draw blood, check your urine, and repeat the transvaginal ultrasound. The bloodwork will include your blood type and Rh factor, anemia screening, HIV, hepatitis B and C, and syphilis screening."

Serena shifted uneasily. "I thought some of those tests had already been done."

"They may have been. But until we receive your records, we can’t rely on incomplete information. If any result comes back reactive or abnormal, we’ll run follow-up tests before making a diagnosis."

The doctor stepped out to place the orders.

Serena sat beneath the harsh fluorescent lights with one hand pressed against her abdomen.

Until then, she had treated the pregnancy like another secret she needed to hide.

Now, one thought drowned out everything else.
