High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 3050: Food Refining

  • Next Chapter

The Yellow Flowered Cat plucked a tuft of fur from its tail and tossed it into the ‘Four Symbols Heaven and Earth.’

Once the tuft entered the translucent orb, it instantly transformed into a group of identical Tabby Cats, meowing and waving their fluffy little paws, raining down on the curled-up Tiber Dragon.

In the ‘Four Symbols Heaven and Earth,’ their sizes seemed comparable, but one was suppressed by the heavens and earth while the other was empowered. With this transformation, the Tiber Dragon was like a ball being knocked around by the flock of Flower Cats.

The bronze Giant Dragon struggled to move its claws, attempting to wield Talent Magic and reverse time, but no matter where it appeared on the timeline, there was always a group of Flower Cats gleefully pouncing upon it.

Bam!

Bam! Bam!

The collision between cat paws and the dragon’s scale armor emitted heavy clashing sounds, echoing beyond the ‘Four Symbols Heaven and Earth,’ resonating between the towering and steep ice walls of the Abyss, then emerging from the already widened crack overhead, becoming sharp and piercing, eventually swept away by the gale on the ice field, whimpering all the way till they slowly dissipated at the ice field’s edge.

The Shadow Cat watched this scene, suddenly feeling a bit sentimental.

When this Tiber Dragon first appeared on the Black Prison Battlefield, its arrogance was overwhelming, manipulating thousands of Wizards and Demons on the battlefield with a legendary-level Talent Magic. Back then, the young Wizard beside it was merely swept by the aftermath of the Time Magic, resulting in a face full of blood, barely breathing.

How long has it been?

That Bronze Dragon circling above the Black Prison Stronghold has now become the plaything of a group of Flower Cats. And the young Wizard who once lay in the dust now watches calmly and peacefully.

The fickleness of the world, nothing compares, inevitably drawing sighs.

Perhaps it’s because they share the same origin.

As the Shadow Cat was feeling sentimental.

Zheng Qing recalled a conversation between him and Xiao Xiao from long ago.

“This world is truly full of danger.”

The young Legend looked at the Tiber Dragon being savagely beaten by the Flower Cats, feeling a pang of sorrow: “You never know when you’ll suddenly be ganged up on by several Legends…”

“Even a lion uses full strength to hunt a rabbit. You did exactly right.”

The Shadow Cat rarely praised the young man beside it: “Moreover, this Tiber Dragon possesses legendary-level combat strength and is skilled in the annoying Time Magic… even for a true Legendary Wizard, it’s somewhat troublesome. It has already proven this in the Black Prison… you’re here today to establish dominance, you should strike it down with overwhelming force. If accidentally entangled with it for a while longer, it might show weakness to others.”

“Strike down? Why strike down?” The Yellow Flowered Cat muttered quietly on the side: “Such a precious variant dragon, it’s wasteful to strike it down… even if we draw some blood every day to sell, it wouldn’t be embarrassing!”

Boom!

Inside the translucent light ball, the Tiber Dragon, battered by the Flower Cats, slammed hard against the sphere’s wall, accompanied by intense sounds from within the light ball. The whole world seemed to tremble a few times.

“Thank you… but that’s not what I meant.”

Zheng Qing ignored the noisy mutterings from the Yellow Flowered Cat, thanked the Shadow Cat, then squinted his eyes, disregarding the fierce battle so close by, his gaze already drifted somewhere unknown:

“I remembered a sentence Xiao Xiao told me—some caves we cannot enter because a ‘Dragon inside’ sign is hanging at the entrance. Back then I told him, when that cave appeared before me, the choice was no longer in my hands. If I didn’t enter the cave, perhaps the old dragon inside would extend its neck, poke its head out, and then eat me whole… if I entered the cave, maybe the old dragon inside would show some mercy, allowing me to write a will or take a bath before eating me.”

The Tiber Dragon stood at the cave entrance.

When it chose to abandon its prolonged hibernation in the Black Prison, merging ‘Vortex’ with ‘Mark Bridget,’ standing at the gate of Legend, the only outcome left for it was: either hide beneath the icy abyss, being killed by someone from the school; or come out from this icy abyss, being killed by someone from the school.”

“Will you give it a chance to write a will?” the Shadow Cat countered.

The young Legend remained silent for a few seconds, ultimately not giving a definite answer: “If it has such a need… hmmm, it looks about done?”

Not far off, inside the translucent light ball, the Tiber Dragon had already lost consciousness, unable to maintain the ‘pocket watch’ form, languishing in mid-air like a limp noodle.

Bam!

A sound like glass shattering, this was the result of the four leading Legends actively dismissing the ‘Four Symbols Heaven and Earth.’ The Tiber Dragon softly fell to the bank of the black river. Although no longer restrained by ‘Four Symbols Heaven and Earth,’ it did not wholly resume its previous size, looking like a dead giant snake.

The yellow Tabby Cats landed lightly.

The leading Flower Cat stepped forward, bit the neck of the Tiber Dragon, leisurely dragging it before Zheng Qing, spat out the prize, politely raised its chin, then, along with the other Flower Cats, transformed into streams of light, returning to the tip of the Yellow Flowered Cat’s tail.

The Yellow Flowered Cat lifted its tail, bringing it to its mouth, tilted its head, and licked the tuft of fur that had just returned.

A faint layer of blood seemed to remain.

Ptooey!

It spat to the side, then smacked its lips and shook its head: “——Surely not a proper Legend, the taste is off! This blood carries a spicy flavor, obviously its splitting and merging techniques aren’t orthodox, overly stimulating its potential.”

“——You’ve tasted a proper Legend?” the Blue snake hissed, dangling its body down from Zheng Qing’s ear, eagerly looking at the Yellow Flowered Cat with delight.

“So new!” the Flower Cat wiped its nose, slightly raising its chin: “Back then, I followed the old man up to the heavens and down to the earth, where haven’t I been? What haven’t I eaten? I’ve seen a lot! It’s only later…”

Its voice suddenly dropped.

Zheng Qing shook his head, unable to empathize with this cat.

“——What are you going to do with it?”

The Shadow Cat tilted its head, glanced at the Law book hanging from Zheng Qing’s belt, thinking if it added the snake’s name inside, it might be a compromise. But considering if a genuine Demon resides within Xuanhuang Palace, it felt awkward.

Zheng Qing did not touch the Law book.

Instead, he reached into his pocket, took out a silver pocket watch. It was a birthday gift from his teacher. In his palm, the silver pocket watch, with those intricate runes on the case, swam like fish in water, emitting seven-colored radiance.

He lifted his hand, casting a soft red Magic Power, capturing the Tiber Dragon, approaching the pocket watch.

Click! Click, click!

The silvery watch chain, like a long snake, swiftly extended out, coiled around the Tiber Dragon. Following closely, those intricate runes on the case, like greedy piranhas, surged along the silver chain, frenziedly devouring the unconscious Tiber Dragon’s flesh and blood. The severe pain roused the Tiber Dragon awake again, it roared, pleaded, struggled fiercely, yet the silver chain tightly bound it within, unable to move.

From scale armor.

To flesh and blood.

Then to bone.

Zheng Qing silently watched as those runes gradually consumed the Tiber Dragon completely, watched as the runes’ forms became more intricate and magnificent, watched as the silvery watch chain lazily retract into his palm.

His heart like an Ancient Well Without Waves.
