Chapter 272: Chapter 166: Slaying a Great Sun with a Single Slash

The mist was uncannily demonic, exuding a cloyingly sweet scent that could bewilder one’s very soul—this was the Spirit Bewitching Heart Poison, her life-source Divine Technique that she had painstakingly cultivated.

"Watch out!" Lin Yue roared in horror upon seeing the sudden turn of events, especially the bizarre pink mist.

The other two defenders were instantly terrified. They knew all too well what it meant to suddenly lose your senses on the battlefield. Ignoring their injuries, the three of them desperately tried to rush over.

In stark contrast were the members of the Demon Race surrounding them.

Seeing the pink mist successfully envelop that terrifying scourge of the Human Race, their eyes flashed with ecstasy, as if victory was already within their grasp.

Many demons couldn’t even stop themselves from letting out bloodthirsty roars.

Within the pink mist, the instant Chi Ling unleashed the poison, her figure shot forward like an arrow released from its bow.

The entirety of her Great Sun Realm Demon Power, which she had been forcibly suppressing, was now unleashed without reservation.

Her palms instantly transformed into sharp claws covered in hard scales. Each nail glinted coldly like a dagger, wielding a terrifying power capable of tearing apart mountains as she stabbed straight for the space between Li Wen’s eyes.

She intended to leave no chance of survival, aiming for a single, fatal strike.

The claw tore through the air, reaching Li Wen’s face in an instant.

However, in that split second, Chi Ling’s demonic eyes, filled with murderous intent and ecstasy, met another pair of eyes.

In them, there was not a hint of confusion, not a shred of hesitation—only an ultimate, icy coldness and... mockery.

Chi Ling froze. Alarm bells screamed wildly in her mind.

Then, she saw her young enemy in the thin mist. The corners of his mouth curved up ever so slightly in an incredibly abrupt arc as he gave her a calm, almost teasing smile.

"You...!" Chi Ling’s breath caught in her throat. A bone-deep chill shot straight up her spine to the crown of her head.

The ecstasy on her face froze solid, replaced by indescribable horror and disbelief.

"How are you unharmed?! Impossible! Any Primordial Spirit Cultivator who has not yet formed a Primordial Spirit will have their consciousness severely wounded and instantly lose their senses upon breathing my Spirit Bewitching Heart Poison! You... don’t tell me you’ve already formed a Primordial Spirit?!"

Her voice was shrill and piercing with utter shock.

Li Wen’s smile turned cold, his gaze as sharp as a blade. His voice carried the icy finality of a death sentence. "The dying have no need for answers."

As the last word fell, the power Li Wen had been gathering in his blade erupted.

This was no longer the efficient precision he had used to clear the field earlier. This time, his blade contained the full might he could command after breaking through to the Late-stage Bright Moon Realm, perfecting his Ninefold Divine Body, and empowering his Primordial Spirit.

It was the ultimate offensive technique from the Profound Dome Rainbow Silence Chapter—"Thunder’s Judgment."

The moment the blade flashed, it was not a blinding bolt of lightning, but something else entirely—as if all the thunder in heaven and earth had been compressed and condensed into a single point.

A condensed beam of deep purple lightning, no thicker than an arm yet radiating an aura of absolute destruction, burst forth!

The beam moved faster than thought, striking before she could react!

In Chi Ling’s eyes, it was not the flash of a blade, but a bolt of destructive tribulation lightning summoned from the depths of the underworld, one that completely ignored her Great Sun Realm protective Demon Power.

It ignored her scales, which were as tough as any magic weapon. Carrying a will that could sever any Law, it struck her body with unerring precision.

SCHLICK—!

There was no earth-shattering explosion, only the soft sound of a sharp blade slicing through butter.

Time seemed to slow to a crawl.

Chi Ling’s lunging figure froze within the pink mist, the expression on her face—a mixture of horror, fear, and disbelief—fixed in place.

A thin red line appeared, running straight down from the crown of her head, through the center of her brow, across the bridge of her nose, between her lips, over her chin and neck, all the way to her torso.

Her entire body had been cleaved in two by that impossibly condensed lightning blade energy.

SSSKT!

The red line suddenly widened, and the two halves of her demonic body—the cuts as smooth as glass—split apart to the left and right.

Her rampant Great Sun Realm Demon Power and vitality gushed out and dissipated like air from a punctured balloon. The last spark of light in the Fox Demon’s eyes dimmed and went out forever.

With her death, the pervading Spirit Bewitching Heart Poison seemed to lose its source of power. It began to churn and boil violently.

It faded at a rate visible to the naked eye, and within a matter of moments, vanished completely from the world.

The crimson-tinged pink mist dissipated completely, revealing the scene at its center.

There, Li Wen hovered in mid-air. His battle armor was unstained by even a speck of dust; his long saber was free of a single drop of blood. Tiny arcs of purple lightning still crackled around his body as his gaze, as cold as a star reflected on a frozen lake, calmly swept across the battlefield.

Directly beneath his feet, the sundered, bleeding halves of the Fox Demon’s corpse were falling limply to the ground.

This scene was like ice water being poured into boiling oil, plunging the entire battlefield into a deathly silence.

The three defenders of the Human Race, Lin Yue and his companions, who had been struggling to rush forward, froze in their tracks. The grief, anxiety, and worry on their faces shattered as if struck by an invisible hammer, replaced by an ultimate, dazed shock that bordered on ecstatic disbelief.

Lin Yue’s mouth hung slightly open, but no sound came out. All he could manage was a short, hoarse gasp.

The other two looked as if they had been struck by lightning. Their eyes were wide as they stared intently at the figure wreathed in purple electricity, as if seeing Li Wen for the first time.

’Strong! Unbelievably strong! That was a Great Sun Realm demon! To be killed so... so cleanly?!’

In stark contrast were the demon troops, who had been roaring in ecstasy just moments before.

Their roars died abruptly, as if their throats had been collectively squeezed.

The ecstasy on their savage faces froze, immediately replaced by a pallor born of pure, unadulterated fear.

The fear was so palpable that some of the lower-level Flying Star Realm demon soldiers began to tremble uncontrollably; some even stumbled backward.

’The Great Sun Realm Fox Demon... their trump card, the secret weapon they had placed all their hopes on... was... just gone?!’

’One-shot by that human?!’

The shock of such a dramatic reversal left their minds completely blank, with nothing remaining but a tremor that shook them to their very souls.

The dead silence lasted only for an instant.

Li Wen was the first to react.

He would never pass up such a golden opportunity—the Demon Race was dazed, their formation was in disarray, and their morale had collapsed.

"Kill!"

A cold command, like a clap of thunder, shattered the silence.

Li Wen became one with his blade, transforming into a purple thunderstorm that tore across the battlefield. He charged without hesitation into the chaotic and panicked ranks of the Demon Race.

The light of his blade was a relentless torrent; with every flash, another demon that tried to stand in his way was effortlessly cut down.

He cared nothing for empty concepts like "fighting honorably" or disdained the notion of "taking advantage of an opponent’s vulnerability." On a battlefield where the survival of his race was at stake, there was only one path: complete annihilation of the enemy.
