Chapter 152: Chapter 118: Demon Cave Gathering, Half a Year Later

The increased bloodline concentration had unexpectedly raised Hua Yiran’s Root Bone by a full grade, reaching Middle A Class.

With this, Hua Yiran’s Root Bone Talent was now considered exceptionally rare.

In the future, with Lu Changfeng’s help, there was a high probability she could advance to the Rebirth Realm.

When the replication interface refreshed next, Lu Changfeng could continue to copy the Demon Fiend Bloodline from Hua Yiran, then inject 2% of the bloodline into each of the Hua Family’s Bone Refining Fifth Layer experts, helping them advance to the Rebirth Realm.

As for Chunzhu, Lu Changfeng currently didn’t possess a Demon Fiend Bloodline that was compatible with her.

Given Chunzhu’s Root Bone, it was highly unlikely she would ever find a compatible Demon Fiend Bloodline.

It couldn’t be helped.

"Brother Changfeng, after the New Year, are you leaving Qin City?" Hua Yiran asked softly, nestled in Lu Changfeng’s embrace.

Now that they were married, Hua Yiran had of course learned Lu Changfeng’s true identity.

After her initial shock, Hua Yiran had resolutely chosen to remain the Saintess.

"Yes. I’ve received word that Hongg Zai’s Four-Color Dragon Army will be fully trained in a few more months."

"When the time comes, I must personally head north and face the Imperial Court alongside the Profound Nether Sect."

"As long as the Imperial Court stands, the Martial Arts Powers in Jiangnan Prefecture will always cling to false hope."

"Only when the Imperial Court is destroyed will the situation in Song Country officially enter a new phase," Lu Changfeng said, a glint in his eyes.

Hua Yiran hugged Lu Changfeng tighter. "Please be careful."

To the side, Chunzhu gently massaged Lu Changfeng’s back before pulling him into her embrace. Nothing needed to be said.

The Imperial Court’s foundations ran deep, and Lu Changfeng wasn’t absolutely confident he could defeat it and the Yunfo Temple backing it.

But before all that, there was something Lu Changfeng needed to take care of.

The Demon Cave gathering.

「The next morning.」

Lu Changfeng found a secluded place and slowly retrieved a letter from his Ba Snake Space.

On the back of the letter was a stunningly lifelike depiction of an ethereally beautiful purple lotus.

The moment he took out the letter, Lu Changfeng immediately felt as if he were being watched.

A line of text was written on the front of the letter.

It specified the time and place for a Demon Cave gathering.

Jiangnan Prefecture, Xing City, the twenty-seventh day, at midnight, Wuu Xing Temple.

Xing City was the northernmost city in Jiangnan Prefecture, only a few hundred miles from Fengg City in Yunyang Prefecture.

Lu Changfeng had received this letter a few days ago.

It had appeared on the desk in his study out of nowhere.

Lu Changfeng had found no trace of how it got there.

To avoid the feeling of being watched, Lu Changfeng had tossed it into his Ba Snake Space.

Just as he expected, the feeling of being watched vanished.

He opened the interface.

The information displayed for the letter was the same as before.

Name: ??? (Unknown)

Root Bone: ???

Talent: ???

Bloodline Talent: [Ancient Purple Lotus Demon 0.00000001%]

"Saint Demon Sect Master? Can you hear me?" Lu Changfeng asked, a sudden thought occurring to him.

A gust of wind blew past, causing the letter to rustle, but nothing else changed.

Lu Changfeng frowned slightly and was just about to return the letter to his Ba Snake Space.

Suddenly, the words on the letter twisted and vanished.

A new line of text appeared on the page: "All hail the Holy Sect Saint Master, whose Divine Techniques pierce the Nine Heavens!"

"Bullshit," Lu Changfeng cursed. "Enough with the smoke and mirrors. If you can find me, why not show your face?"

The writing on the letter vanished.

A new message materialized: "I had no other choice. I hope for the Saint Master’s understanding."

"Tonight, at midnight. I’ll be waiting."

After that, the letter remained unchanged.

Lu Changfeng tossed the letter back into his Ba Snake Space.

Lu Changfeng snatched the Fire Qilin beside him and tossed it into the air. "Alright now, give me a ride."

The Fire Qilin glanced back at Lu Changfeng in midair. He was its treasured human, after all.

And so, the Fire Qilin’s body rapidly expanded, transforming into a medium-sized Qilin over ten feet long.

Lu Changfeng leaped onto its back. Bai Touweng tried to follow, but the Fire Qilin swatted him away with its tail.

Bai Touweng looked on in chagrin but didn’t dare to actually challenge the Ancient Fire Qilin.

"You didn’t receive a letter, so just wait here in Qin City," Lu Changfeng said. "Let’s see what kind of game this Sect Leader is playing."

After speaking, Lu Changfeng took a set of purple robes from his Ba Snake Space and changed into them.

At the same time, his form shifted, and he once again assumed the appearance of the Saint Demon Sect Master.

He gently patted the Fire Qilin’s head. The creature pushed off the air and soared into the sky. Below, Bai Touweng watched them go until they vanished over the horizon moments later.

The Fire Qilin’s Airstride speed was truly exceptional.

It seemed to have an innate ability to ride the wind.

They had departed in the morning, and by noon, Lu Changfeng had already crossed the whole of Jiangnan Prefecture and arrived in Xing City.

He landed outside Xing City and had the Fire Qilin shrink back to its normal size.

Lu Changfeng strode into Xing City.

"Saint Master."

As he was lining up to enter the city, a handsome young man approached Lu Changfeng’s side and bowed respectfully. It was Purple Dragon, who had just broken through to the Rebirth Realm.

After Lu Changfeng infused him with the [Ancient Snow Python] bloodline, he had finally managed to achieve his Rebirth breakthrough a short while ago.

Naturally, Purple Dragon had replaced Purple Zombie as the new leader of the Heavenly Corpse Demon Sect.

"Mm," Lu Changfeng nodded slightly, gesturing for him to fall in behind.

He, too, was here for the Demon Cave gathering.

The two of them continued to queue to enter the city.

They hadn’t walked more than a few steps when a figure rose from a roadside tea stall, bowing respectfully to Lu Changfeng. "Saint Master!"

The newcomer was a monk in a kasaya—it was Xuansha of the Dark Buddha Demon Sect.

"It’s been a while. Join us," Lu Changfeng said.

Xuansha strode forward and took his place by Lu Changfeng’s side.

"Hee hee! You’re all so late!"

A stunningly beautiful woman in a blood-red robe blocked their path, covering her mouth as she giggled, her expression incomparably coquettish.

It was Yui Ya of the Gluttony Demon Sect, another Rebirth Realm expert.

"Your Majesty the Saint Master, would you permit a humble girl like me to follow you?"

Lu Changfeng nodded slightly. After their long journeys, the many Spiritual Embryo Realm experts had consumed a great deal of Spiritual Energy and needed his Heroic Root Bone to recover their Spiritual Power.

"My thanks, Saint Master!" Yui Ya cooed, taking her place behind Lu Changfeng with elegant steps.

Despite the freezing weather, a pair of long, snow-white legs peeked out from her red robes. She didn’t seem to feel the cold, but anyone who saw her certainly did.

And with that, three of the great Demon Sect leaders had appeared.

Lu Changfeng continued toward Wuu Xing Temple.

Wuu Xing Temple had been built in honor of Xing City’s Grand General, Wuu Xing. The temple was located in the northern part of the city and covered a vast area.

Lu Changfeng’s group of four strode on.

Before long, they arrived outside Wuu Xing Temple.

As the man for whom the city was named, Wuu Xing’s influence in Xing City was immense.

The most direct manifestation of this was the bustling activity and thick incense smoke at Wuu Xing Temple.

Worshippers came and went in an endless stream.

"Saint Master!"

Right before the temple gate, a burly man strode over. Strapped to his back was a massive saber that was taller than he was.

"That’s the leader of the Blood Saber Demon Sect," Xuansha said softly.

The Blood Saber Demon Sect was the very same sect whose leader had, a few years ago, unilaterally declared the Western Capital Prefecture to be the ’Demon Country’.

Of course, the leader of the Blood Saber Demon Sect had been utterly unable to unify the Western Capital Prefecture.

Especially after Lu Changfeng, the true Saint Master, had appeared in Yunyang Prefecture, the ’Demon Country’ in the Western Capital Prefecture had become a complete joke.

No one had ever truly considered the Western Capital Prefecture to be the Demon Country.

Now, seeing Lu Changfeng, the Blood Saber Demon Sect’s leader seemed awkward and uneasy, acting like an honest, simple man—whether it was genuine or an act was hard to say.

"Join us," Lu Changfeng said softly.

"Right!"

The Blood Saber leader jogged over to stand behind Lu Changfeng. Sensing the change in the surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Energy, he immediately took a deep, greedy breath of the fragrant air, earning a look of disgust from the leader of the Gluttony Demon Sect.

Lu Changfeng and his entourage sat down in a small courtyard beside Wuu Xing Temple to wait.

The nearby worshippers saw this group of people who were clearly not to be trifled with and naturally didn’t dare to get close.

And so, night fell.

A gaunt old man leaning on a cane, a medicine pouch slung over his back, slowly shuffled toward them.

Though the old man looked as if a gust of wind could blow him over, the moment he appeared, Lu Changfeng noticed the four Demon Sect leaders at his side tense up.

This was the leader of the Bone-Eroding Demon Sect.

Subordinate only to the Saint Demon Sect, he was the Demon Sect leader most skilled in the art of poison. Even a Rebirth Realm expert, if careless for a single moment, could be reduced to a pile of rotten bones by his infamous bone-eroding venom.

"Greetings, Saint Master!" the leader of the Bone-Eroding Demon Sect said, bowing respectfully to Lu Changfeng.

"Come, have a seat," Lu Changfeng invited with a small smile and a gesture.

"I still don’t get it. This is clearly just a temple. What makes it worthy of being a Demon Cave?" the Blood Saber leader grumbled, clearly unconvinced.
