High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices
Chapter 694 691: The True Star Realm Battlefield
Things that ordinary people spent their entire lives striving for and resources that countless others would break their necks fighting over were nothing more than standard privileges for a Grandmaster.
Anna's voice rang out again. "In addition, if you need any special resources or want to take care of specific matters, you can apply directly to the relevant departments through me. As long as it doesn't violate the Federation's core interests, they will generally be approved."
Xu Wuyi nodded without speaking.
He sat beneath the old locust tree, staring at the dense lines of text on the holographic screen, but his mind was elsewhere. If a Grandmaster's privileges were this generous, what about their responsibilities? Lu Shaoyuan's words from yesterday, the secrets of the Star Realm Battlefield, whatever Shen Jin was about to tell him... Those were the things a Grandmaster truly had to face.
While he was lost in thought, Anna suddenly spoke up. "Grandmaster Xu Wuyi, there is one more thing."
Xu Wuyi looked up. "What is it?"
"The Federation Parliament has sent an inquiry asking for your opinion on whether you are willing to have the news of your advancement to Grandmaster announced to the public," Anna explained. She paused for a moment before adding, "Traditionally, the birth of a new Grandmaster is a joyous occasion for the entire Federation and is generally announced. But whether it is actually made public depends entirely on your personal wishes."
Announce it? Xu Wuyi thought for a moment and quickly made a decision.
"Announce it," he said.
Given his current fame, his past battle records were already widespread, and many were even placing bets on when he would advance to Grandmaster. As long as he took action in the future, once a Grandmaster Level battle broke out, his identity definitely couldn't be hidden. Rather than being recognized and sparking wild speculation later, it was better to announce it openly now.
"Understood, I will reply to the Parliament right away," Anna said. After a few seconds of silence, she continued, "The Parliament has received the reply. They stated that they will make a public announcement tomorrow morning, and at the same time, there will be special reports across the major Federation media outlets."
Xu Wuyi nodded and said nothing more.
Early the next morning.
Xu Wuyi woke up as usual, practiced a set of martial arts routines in the courtyard, and prepared to go out for groceries. Just as he reached the entrance, a knock sounded at the courtyard gate. He opened it to find Qin Qinghe standing outside.
Grandmaster Shen Jin had yet to return, but Qin Qinghe had arrived first; evidently, he had already heard the news.
"Senior Brother Qin," Xu Wuyi greeted, momentarily surprised.
Qin Qinghe wasn't wearing his military uniform today. Instead, he was in casual clothes, a bright smile on his face. He carried a bag in his hand containing piping hot meat buns and soy milk.
"Haven't eaten breakfast yet, have you?" Qin Qinghe handed the bag over. "I just passed by a shop and bought this on the way.
"Our teacher is still tied up with some matters and couldn't get away, so he asked me to come back first."
Xu Wuyi took the bag and stepped aside to let Qin Qinghe in. The two sat down on the stone stools in the courtyard. Xu Wuyi opened the bag, took out a bun, and took a bite. It had a rich, savory meat filling with flavorful broth; it tasted quite good.
Qin Qinghe watched him eat and chuckled. "You still have the mind to eat buns today? Haven't you seen the news?"
Xu Wuyi shook his head. "No."
Qin Qinghe took out his personal terminal, tapped a few times, and projected a holographic screen, pushing it in front of Xu Wuyi.
On the screen was a news page. The headline, displayed in the largest font, read: "BREAKING! The Federation's Youngest Grandmaster in History is Born—Xu Wuyi, Twenty-Three Years Old!"
Below the headline was a photo of Xu Wuyi. It was surprisingly clear, though he had no idea where they had found it. In the photo, he was wearing the Star Martial University uniform, standing on the Training Ground with a calm expression.
Further down was a dense textual report detailing his resume: graduating from Star Martial University, participating in multiple special military missions, and his recent advancement to Grandmaster in Xingjing West District. At the end of the report, there was a commentary section:
"A twenty-three-year-old Grandmaster is unprecedented in the entire history of the Federation. Xu Wuyi's emergence marks the Federation's Martial Arts entering a brand-new era.
"We have every reason to believe that this young Grandmaster will bring even more glory to the Federation on the Star Realm Battlefield in the future."
Xu Wuyi read the report with a hint of helplessness on his face, merely continuing to eat his bun.
Qin Qinghe couldn't help but laugh at his unfazed demeanor. "Your mindset is truly steady," he said. "If it were anyone else setting such a record, they would be dying of excitement right now. But you're acting like you're reading the news about someone else entirely."
Xu Wuyi swallowed the bite in his mouth. "There's nothing to be excited about. I wasn't even excited when I advanced."
Qin Qinghe shook his head and didn't say anything more.
Meanwhile, at Star Martial University.
In the early morning campus, students walked in twos and threes along the paths. Some were heading to class, some to the Training Ground, and others to the cafeteria for breakfast. Suddenly, someone cried out in shock.
"Holy shit! Look at the news!"
The voice was loud, instantly drawing the attention of everyone around. A male student stood by the road, staring at his personal terminal with his eyes wide and his jaw slack enough to fit an egg.
The people next to him leaned over. "What's wrong? What news got you all worked up like this?"
The boy held up his personal terminal, and the holographic screen displayed the exact report about Xu Wuyi.
"Xu Wuyi! It's Senior Xu Wuyi from our school! He became a Grandmaster!"
The area fell completely silent for a second before exploding into an uproar.
"What?! Xu Wuyi? Didn't he just graduate not long ago?"
"Yes, yes, yes, that's him! Twenty-three years old, a Grandmaster! Oh my god!"
