Hidden Marriage: Pamper Me Gently, My Sweetie
Chapter 1984 - 1978: Not the Same Person
Xiaojian suddenly stood up, lifted his head, and abruptly fixed his gaze on the Staff member inside. His pitch‑black little eyes seemed to burst with some murky color, and a few people at the side immediately walked over and grabbed that Staff member in one move.
Ye Ning froze. "Xiaojian..."
Xiaojian held Ye Ning’s hand, but his eyes were still icily locked on the people in front, his indifferent gaze seeming cold enough to freeze into ice.
His ink‑dark pupils had already turned into a wash of ashen black, with not a trace of color left.
"You hurt my sister. Not a single one of you is getting away."
He finished, then flicked his hand. "Seal this place off for me. No one responsible is allowed to leave."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Xiaojian went on, "Now..." He suddenly let go of Ye Ning, picked up the gun from the ground, then raised it and came up to that Staff member.
Ye Ning paused, still not having processed it yet,
never expecting Xiaojian to grab the thing, look at that Staff member with a face full of shock and cowardice, and directly slam the gun’s butt down across his face with a sharp crack.
The corner of the man’s mouth instantly spilled red blood.
And Xiaojian looked in no way like he intended to stop, continuing to hit him like that.
Another sharp crack.
Twice.
Three times.
Ye Ning stared, dumbfounded at the scene, suddenly feeling that the person in front of her—was he really Xiaojian?
Was he really that little boy she knew, the one who didn’t even know how to speak up when he was being bullied?
Yet the people beside them just watched this, all with indifferent expressions, as if they were long used to such scenes.
Ye Ning kept watching like that, watching.
She hurriedly walked over.
"Alright, Xiaojian, it’s fine now, I’m fine, stop hitting."
Xiaojian turned his head back, his eyes reddened, still brimming with unspent fury.
He looked at Ye Ning, heart aching. "You’re bleeding, and you call that fine."
"It was just an accident, of course I’m fine."
"No, it must hurt a lot. I’ll blow on it for you."
"Okay, okay, if Xiaojian blows on it for me, it’ll be fine."
Xiaojian held Ye Ning’s hand, bowed his head, and carefully blew on her wound twice.
Like that, he was completely different from the Xiaojian who’d just been beating someone—two utterly different people—making Ye Ning stare at him, her lips moving silently. She slowly wrapped her arms around Xiaojian. "Alright, let’s go back now. I’ll find some medicine to put on it."
"Ah, right." He lifted his head; in his eyes there suddenly seemed to appear a surge of kingly dominance.
"Take my sister to the hospital."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
He held Ye Ning’s hand and walked out, but when they reached the door, he suddenly turned and said, "I want to know what happens to the people here."
"Yes, Your Majesty, rest assured."
A chill ran through Ye Ning’s heart.
She turned back and looked at QM and Gu Qingcheng off to the side.
The expressions on both their faces were clearly the same as Ye Ning’s.
They had already been shocked by what had just happened.
They finally arrived at the hospital.
Xiaojian was extremely irritable, seeing how big the wound was, how much blood it was shedding, and how it even looked like it would leave a scar. That only made him lose his temper and curse everyone out, one by one.
In the end, only after someone came to report on the aftermath at the amusement park did he finally walk out.
Ye Ning then slowly walked out as well, and outside she saw Zuo Qirui standing there.
She murmured as she walked up beside him.
She looked at him, wanting to speak yet holding back.
Zuo Qirui smiled, as if he already understood what she wanted to say.
"Yes, that’s exactly His Majesty’s temperament. I hope you can get used to it."
