Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method

Chapter 771: Three More Candidates Want Problems

  • Next Chapter

Somewhere far away from the ancient dragon fortress hub, in a hidden space cut off from normal cosmic perception, several figures sat around a circular black table.

The room was silent, dark, and filled with countless floating system symbols.

Each symbol belonged to a different candidate.

However, at this moment, one of those symbols had gone completely dim.

The golden-red mark that represented Kairox had shattered, and for several seconds, none of the figures spoke.

Finally, one woman sitting at the edge of the table opened her eyes.

Her pupils were silver, and her voice was calm but cold. "Kairox is dead."

Across from her, a large man covered in black armor leaned back in his chair. "Impossible. Kairox was not weak."

A third figure, a pale young man with a lazy smile, tapped his finger against the table. "Not weak? He was one of the stronger candidates in our circle. He had already hunted dragons, killed weaker candidates, and built an entire Dragon Slayer army."

The armored man frowned. "Exactly. Which means only another candidate could have killed him."

The silver-eyed woman nodded slowly. "That is the most likely answer."

Their group was not public, and it had no official name recognized by the outside world.

However, among themselves, they called it [The Chosen Ones].

A gathering of candidates who believed themselves above normal gods, races, and cosmic powers.

The lazy young man smiled faintly. "Interesting. To think a candidate dared to interfere with us."

The armored man slammed one fist lightly onto the table. "Dared? He killed one of ours."

The silver-eyed woman remained calm. "Do not let anger make you stupid. Kairox was powerful, yes, but his strength was heavily specialized."

The armored man glanced at her. "Specialized?"

She casually replied, "He hunted dragons, and his System basically made him specialize in fighting them. Against other races, or even other candidates, his advantage wasn’t nearly as overwhelming."

The lazy young man chuckled. "In other words, he was terrifying to dragons, but not necessarily terrifying to everyone."

The armored man snorted. "Even so, killing him is not simple."

"No," the silver-eyed woman agreed. "It is not simple. Whoever killed him is at least strong enough to defeat a top dragon hunter candidate. That alone is worth caution."

The lazy young man leaned forward, resting his chin on one hand. "So what do we do? Send one person? Investigate first? Or pretend we didn’t notice?"

The armored man’s eyes flashed. "We are three. Why worry so much? We go together and crush this troublemaker before he becomes a problem."

The silver-eyed woman gave him a cold glance. "That confidence is exactly how candidates die."

He sneered. "And overcaution is how opportunities disappear."

The lazy young man laughed softly. "Both of you are annoying, but I agree with part of that. We shouldn’t underestimate him. But we also shouldn’t let him grow."

He waved his hand, and Kairox’s shattered golden-red symbol floated above the table. "First, we find out who killed him."

The silver-eyed woman stared at the broken symbol, and soon a faint image flickered within it.

For only a brief instant, they saw a man with purple-black-white eyes standing over the remains of Kairox’s System fragments.

The armored man narrowed his eyes. "That’s him?"

The lazy young man’s smile widened. "Doesn’t really look that dangerous."

The silver-eyed woman’s gaze sharpened. "You sure? I can feel it. He’s dangerous."

The armored man stood up. "Good. Then he’s worth killing."

The lazy young man chuckled and rose from his chair as well. "Let’s deal with this troublemaker before his ego gets even bigger."

The silver-eyed woman remained seated for a moment longer before finally standing as well. "Fine. But remember this."

Her silver eyes reflected Garion’s fading image. "Kairox died because he thought his System made him superior."

She turned toward the others. "If we make the same mistake, we might end up following him. You’d better remember that."

The other two simply waved off her warning, making her sneer as she muttered under her breath, "Then don’t blame me if I end up betraying you two."

---

One week passed quickly.

When the blue-white barrier finally disappeared, the Dragon Gods who had been waiting outside immediately turned their attention toward the island.

The next moment, even they fell silent, because [Divine Dragon God Gym Island] looked completely different from what they had expected.

Half of the island had become a catastrophic disaster world filled with countless world-destroying calamities.

Basically, if there was something capable of destroying a world, you could probably find it somewhere here.

Dahlia stood proudly beside Garion with her hands resting on the control panel. "Hehe. Looks pretty good, right?"

Atlas looked exhausted.

[Pretty good? Half the island looks like the universe came here to have a mental breakdown.]

Garion grinned, completely ignoring Atlas. "Hahaha! Of course it’s good, Dahlia. This place is meant for training dragons, so naturally we need to make it hell for them."

Dahlia laughed along with him. "Ahaha! Exactly! And since all these disasters came from me, the Disaster Dragon, this place will also naturally suppress and pressure other dragons. Basically, it’s perfect as a dragon training ground."

Garion’s grin widened even further when he heard that. "Even better! If they can survive training here, those dragons will come out tough as hell."

Meanwhile, the other half of the island was completely different and, compared to the disaster zone, almost looked normal because it had been transformed into a massive luxury divine gym resort.

There were enormous training halls built for dragon bodies, wide enough for even giant dragons to move freely.

There were gravity cardio tracks, divine weight-training areas equipped with special weights ranging from tens to thousands of tons, and massive swimming pools whose water conditions could be adjusted into various types.

There was even a special sparring hall for anyone who wanted to fight seriously.

The place was nearly impossible to destroy, as it had been built from special materials and reinforced by multiple formations connected throughout the island.

There were also restaurants, cafeterias, supplement stores, recovery hospitals, luxury hotels, gardens, meditation zones, healing springs, and even a giant reception plaza marked with the glowing symbol of God Gym.

Rachel had personally designed the recovery and hospitality areas, so the entire peaceful half of the island felt warm, elegant, and comfortable.

Arden and Mersha had also taken care of the gardens and supplement labs, making sure everything produced there was potent enough to actually work on dragons.

The Dragon Gods who had just arrived were basically stunned, their eyes widening as one of them finally muttered, "Isn’t this basically just a resort?"
