Her Food Livestream Broke the Galaxy
Chapter 822 - 841: I Will Quietly ’Go to Work’ and Then Amaze Everyone
And after a long while, a few more messages popped up.
"I feel like there are four people working here, but it looks like the workload of fourteen...
"Aren’t there way too many patients coming and going?
"I’ve come to peek at the clinic of this year’s top student, Jiang Qiuqiu.
"Live reporting: I’m shocked. I feel like I’m going blind."
Everyone in the group knew Jiang Qiuqiu treated patients quickly, but they hadn’t expected this kind of workflow, nor had they expected it to be this incredibly fast. Patients were in and out in a flash, and she served them by the tableful.
"Zooming in. The patients left, and now she seems to be kneading dough. It looks so fun...
"Ah, she spotted me!"
Jiang Qiuqiu had noticed the student who came to take pictures.
"I thought she’d tell me to leave. Uh, but she gave me something to eat instead. It smells so good!
"It’s so delicious!!!"
And with that, the student who had come to gather intel vanished from the group chat. Meanwhile, a new errand girl had appeared in Jiang Qiuqiu’s clinic.
The recruitment process went something like this:
Jiang Qiuqiu asked, "You’ve been watching for a while. Do you want to eat one?"
"Can I?" the girl asked.
Jiang Qiuqiu handed her a steamed bun. The girl took a bite, looking absolutely shocked.
"It’s so delicious!" she exclaimed. She finished the bun in a few bites, then blinked her eyes and asked, "Can I have another one?"
"Sure," Jiang Qiuqiu joked. "If you help me serve steamed buns for an hour, you can eat a few more."
"Absolutely!!" the girl agreed.
DING! One helper acquired. She was put on duty immediately. Having someone to help definitely made things easier.
The shift continued until evening. After dark, the hospital doors closed. Qiuqiu still had an extra basket of small steamed buns and some filling left over. She packed three generously stuffed buns for her little helper, then stored the rest of the ingredients in a thermostat box to take back to her dorm.
Just before she left work, a young garrison soldier from the front gate hurried over to ask Qiuqiu if she would be coming back tomorrow.
Qiuqiu smiled. "Why do you ask?"
"The people at the gate are all asking," he replied. "So I came to ask for them."
"I’ll be here."
And so, a busy and fulfilling day came to an end. Back in the temporary dorm, everyone enjoyed a hearty meal. Gu Xiang and the others praised Qiuqiu’s cooking to the skies, claiming that the patients treated at Qiuqiu’s clinic were incredibly blessed.
Exhausted, they all went to bed early that night. After they fell asleep, a short video blew up the student group chat.
It was the same student who loved taking photos and videos—and who had eaten quite a few of Qiuqiu’s steamed buns. She had followed the garrison soldier to the front gate. There, she recorded those grimy figures waiting in line. Upon hearing that the clinic would remain open tomorrow, waves of joy washed over them.
They whispered among themselves. Despite their suffering, their eyes still sparkled with hope. Some of the students watching the video were deeply moved.
The next day, many clinics in the hospital opened their doors.
The students had arrived quietly. Some had gotten approval from the hospital director. Others hadn’t, but they came anyway, sharing clinic spaces with their dormmates. After all, having two people work together wasn’t a bad idea. They quietly opened their doors and quietly let the queues in.
These students, arriving in the early hours of the morning, willingly took up their posts on their day off.
Everything proceeded as usual. Truth be told, these patients were rather simple and unworldly. They were very reserved and rarely said thank you. They would walk in with their heads down. After being cured, their joy was visible, but they remained people of few words. They kept their feelings to themselves and rarely directed their smiles at the students.
But watching life after life—lives that shouldn’t have faded away—bloom once more in their hands...
Wasn’t that a form of validation in itself? It was the quiet praise they gave themselves.
