Her Cultivation Diary
Chapter 2315: Entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurship?
Qiaoqiao instantly widened his eyes.
It’s a new field he hadn’t encountered, and it sounds so interesting!
"I, I want..."
Xiaoyang looked at him eagerly, his eyes sincere, almost finishing the sentence for him.
Wu Lan hesitated: "If you go to the Imperial City, how will you manage to live?"
This isn’t the same as going to Yang’s house.
Going to a friend’s house means there’s nothing specific to do, people accompany you for meals and entertainment, and you don’t have to worry, it’s very relaxed.
Wu Lan, although missing him, didn’t urge him to come back quickly.
But when it involves career and studies, it’s different.
For example, in Qiaoqiao’s current state, if Xiaoyang has classes during the day, he’d have to rely on household staff or live alone.
Parents are always so concerned.
Even though Qiaoqiao has made great progress and seems no different from ordinary people at first glance, living independently still makes everyone worry.
Song Tan, however, thought it was a great opportunity.
Wu Lan and Song Sancheng always worried about how Qiaoqiao would fare in old age, as if they were heartless, letting siblings fend for themselves once they have families.
They have often imagined Qiaoqiao being lonely, old and without support.
——Perhaps it’s how all parents envision their unmarried, childless children in old age.
While Xiaoyang’s entrepreneurship is uncertain, giving Qiaoqiao a chance to live independently is indeed a great opportunity.
"I think it’s worth considering."
Seeing Qiaoqiao looking at her eagerly, Song Tan smiled, an expression of reassurance:
"You’re nineteen this year; other kids your age are traveling far for university. Even if you don’t have university, joining entrepreneurship is fine too."
"But away from home, you’ll need to clean, wash clothes, cook, go to the supermarket, set up the internet, pick up deliveries, and contact after-service... can you manage these all by yourself?"
No matter what, it’s an unfamiliar environment; even mentally fit adults feel uneasy, let alone Qiaoqiao.
After thinking carefully, Qiaoqiao said:
"I can do all this, but I’ve never actually lived alone, so I don’t know."
Listening to him, Wu Lan couldn’t help but find his honesty amusing: "You’re really honest."
With a few days left before school starts, it’s okay not to rush the decision.
But Xiaoyang, despite mentioning it casually, isn’t irresponsible, now tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep.
On one hand thinking it’s reckless to take Qiaoqiao to an unfamiliar environment; on the other feeling like a father watching his child go far for university—
Though somewhat untimely, his mood is just like this!
After contemplating, he called Mr. Yang.
"Dad!"
He yelled in the dead of night.
Mr. Yang glanced at his phone with squinted eyes, it was three in the morning.
This troublesome kid!
While you don’t sleep, we adults need to maintain our health!
"Speak."
Xiaoyang, unaware of his father’s indifference, blurted out all his thoughts and questions. Mr. Yang, half-awake, responded briefly, leaving only one sentence:
"I’ll check with the company tomorrow."
Then decisively hung up.
While the father-son relationship is hard to define, with Mr. Yang’s word, Xiaoyang didn’t suspect any half-heartedness, and slept soundly.
Having stayed up so late, he barely caught breakfast in the morning, luckily Qiaoqiao saved a big bowl for him, thinking of him.
Thinking of this, Xiaoyang became more earnest, even declaring to Song Tan:
"Sis, you probably didn’t believe me when I said I’d be lifelong brothers with Qiaoqiao. But if we can get along through work, study, and entrepreneurship, the times most prone to conflict—"
"If we can live harmoniously over these, then trust Uncle and Aunt, our Qiaoqiao will always have a staunch brother supporting him!"
After a pause, he quickly added:
"Anything is fine, except gambling."
Mr. Yang is permissive about most things, except this—if dared touch that, he would beat him half dead.
If still unrepentant, Mr. Yang had repeatedly warned, with multiple houses and hiring bodyguards to confine him, he’d support him for life.
He’d rather have a useless son than a gambling addict.
Xiaoyang was indeed serious!
Song Tan never underestimated the aspirations of youth.
She similarly agreed seriously: "We’re considering things too; once decided, we’ll discuss further with Qiaoqiao."
Actually, there’s little need to consider, just seeing Qiaoqiao always following her closely, turning to see those expectant eyes...
She might not fully understand how challenging living outside can be, might not know entrepreneurship might strain friendships.
But like any child who fantasizes living independently outside, Qiaoqiao never explored beyond home, simply wanting to try on his own...
What could she say?
If she weren’t somewhat rational, Song Tan would have agreed straight away.
Meanwhile, Mr. Yang remembered the matters his son mentioned in the dead of night after his busy morning.
Though a businessman, he has good friends too, understanding his son at the moment.
So he called his secretary to investigate, fulfilling Xiaoyang’s trust by noon, offering several directions:
"Considering Qiaoqiao’s situation, inviting him means taking responsibility for all aspects concerning him."
"You’re a freshman; most of your time will be at school; leaving him home alone is unfair."
"I consulted, and you could consider having our company donate educational equipment to a nearby special education school, applying for an adult audit slot to attend classes."
This audit slot is limited; many schools don’t offer slots for those over sixteen, some up to eighteen.
Qiaoqiao is nineteen already, so Mr. Yang only offered a possibility.
"There’s also a private showcase center focused on talent and life skill development training, suitable for Qiaoqiao."
But like a care home, it requires extensive checks to ensure reliability.
Someone like Qiaoqiao needs reliable people as assistants too.
"Another option is the local daycare center organized by the disabled association."
But since government-funded, the threshold is low, making the personnel mixed.
"... You must carefully select and scrutinize these places if you plan a place for Qiaoqiao."
"Moreover, Qiaoqiao himself is quite smart, capable of many things."
"Regarding his intellect, aside from social skills, I think he’s comparable to regular people."
With age, it’s clearer that many in the world only appear normal; many can’t comprehend communication.
So Mr. Yang’s advice was sincere.
"These are only suitable for him to broaden his horizons, observe other lifestyles, experiencing a class daily suffices."
"But regarding the direction, I’ve given it to you. Now that you’re an adult, it’s all up to you to consider thoroughly."
