Chapter 306: Xie Huaizheng’s Sister

Huang Jiqin could see Su Zhaozhao was so moved that her eyes were shimmering with tears, and her heart went out to her.

’This poor girl,’ she thought. ’She lost her mother so young. Life must have been tough all these years, getting by under a stepmother and a biased father, right?’

She simply patted her hand. "You two put your luggage away. You can rest for a bit or have Huai Zheng show you around. Whatever you’d like."

Huang Jiqin then went downstairs.

Xie Huaizheng walked over to Su Zhaozhao and wrapped her in a hug. "Zhaozhao, you’re already this moved? At this rate, you’re going to spend your entire time here on the verge of tears."

Su Zhaozhao buried her face in Xie Huaizheng’s chest. "I’m not. I just think your family is much nicer than I imagined."

"Is that so? It seems you always misjudge me, Zhaozhao. Did you really think my family would be a bunch of monsters?"

"Honey, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have thought that about your family, and I shouldn’t have said that about you. In my heart, you’re the best man in the world, and your family is wonderful, truly. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this kind of warmth from a family."

Everyone was taking care of her, so naturally, Su Zhaozhao was moved.

"I don’t believe you." Xie Huaizheng pursed his thin lips, putting on a cold expression.

His dark eyes looked at the worried girl in front of him.

"Not enough. Don’t think you can bribe me with such a paltry offering!"

Su Zhaozhao sighed and plopped right down onto Xie Huaizheng’s lap.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and brought her face close to his.

Her eyes fixed on his face. Staring at him, she put on a pitiful look. "Honey, you really can’t forgive me?"

She kissed him again.

Feeling his body suddenly tense up, she couldn’t help but laugh inwardly, though she did her best to restrain herself.

’Just two little kisses and his body is already reacting, yet he’s still trying so hard to hold back and control himself.’

At that thought, Su Zhaozhao couldn’t be bothered with him anymore. She stood up and said, "Forget it, forget it. You can just cool down by yourself."

With a pull, the man yanked her into his embrace.
