Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage

Chapter 421: Ravenous Beast

  • Next Chapter

It was early in the day when a fleet of dozens of Flying Ships arrived at the inner sect. They all landed on a planet surrounded by radiant metropolises.

As soon as the doors opened, several thousand figures emerged from inside. They were almost all humanoid races, and they were certainly completely overwhelmed with emotion.

Among those people, there was a single wolf-like beast race.

On one of the ships, two figures appeared at the entrance.

"Father, Mother, we’re finally in our new home."

Priam’s voice sounded softly as he looked at the two of them, frozen in place, still unable to believe that this was real.

Orlaith was there as well, together with the Beast group. She looked outside and saw her two children in tears. She took a deep breath and ran out in a hurry. She stopped in front of Shione and Lumiere, hugging them tightly.

Dandara greeted everyone of her race as well, her eyes trembling with emotion.

...

...

...

All the newcomers were settled in the main city. They were given high-level houses and would receive a generous monthly allowance from the sect for 100 years.

During this period, they were expected to get used to their new environment and find work to contribute to the planet’s community and the sect.

Those who lived there worked in all sorts of ways. Some became Alchemists, Blacksmiths, Inscription Masters, or Merchants. The Merchants could leave in sect caravans and travel outside the domains, bringing back valuable resources.

There were many options. One of them was to focus on training and studying, thus creating the next generations of disciples. If they succeeded in raising important figures, these disciples could provide for the relatives living there.

After everyone settled into two enormous houses, Priam explained that his father could officially establish the Ylisse Clan on that planet. They could start out as a clan of Alchemists and merchants, and as they gained more members, they would gradually expand their businesses.

As for resources, all they had to do was send Priam a message, and he would bring everything directly from the sect at no cost.

Thus, the Ylisse Clan’s new beginning officially started.

It would no longer be a clan exclusive to the Vanculari race, and it would have several supporters. On top of that, it would expand and grow at an incredibly fast rate, driven by the knowledge Priam had provided.

A few days later, Priam was in the inscription building that took him to the Celestial Cloud.

He began trying to create his Sun, but he was still far from succeeding. He really needed to raise the level of his secret world so that this process could be faster.

Any Sage in his position would take hundreds of years to cross this threshold, and would be happy if they managed to do it in such a short amount of time. Priam might not even take a century to accomplish it, but to him, that was still an absurdly long time.

It was at that moment that he received a message from Dandara.

Without hesitation, he left the building and returned to his faction.

Upon arriving, Dandara quickly explained. "All the elite soldiers managed to find a compatible one, and they correctly comprehended one of the Paragon Arts the Boss gave them."

Priam nodded, satisfied. The chance to evolve had arrived.

"Let them all rest for a day. After that, gather everyone."

...

One day later, Priam rented a more isolated training region in the sect for his faction.

There were many planets in the inner sect that were overrun by nature and deserts. These planets were deliberately left that way because they served multiple purposes. Any disciple could pay to rent them and use the locations for secret training, or whatever else they wanted.

Priam chose a planet that was almost completely lifeless and rented it for a week free of charge.

All of the little over 2,000 elite soldiers were brought to the location.

They arrived in a deserted, mountainous region.

Priam turned toward the group and announced, "Everyone must activate the Paragon Art together."

When those words left his mouth, everyone swallowed hard. No matter how much they had imagined this possibility, hearing it directly from him still left them frightened.

In the inner sect, there were many profound records about Tribulations and Heavenly Punishments that weren’t available in the outer sect. During the past few days, Priam had studied a little in the library.

This knowledge came from other worlds they had "visited" on missions. In some worlds, people could absorb Qi or other forms of energy and, through that, improve their power in every way. This was called cultivation.

During this cultivation, at certain thresholds, people would face the fury of the world’s laws, just like when a Mage or Sage tried to use a Paragon Art.

Heavenly Tribulations were faced by a single person, but they could implicate several others nearby if they didn’t immediately flee far away. If several people used them at the same time...

According to the knowledge Priam had read, the fury of the heavens would accumulate and multiply, becoming practically even more powerful and deadly.

Obviously, doing this was considered absolute suicide.

But Priam was asking them to do exactly that.

All the soldiers took deep breaths and gathered their courage. Dandara and the other eight who had previously obtained Paragon Arts from the world fragments would also go through the same process now.

"Boss... you can step back. I’ll take care of everything."

Dandara spoke with complete confidence. It was obvious that Priam couldn’t stay there, or he would be implicated for no reason.

But...

Priam smiled. "There’s no need. The world’s laws are giving us a gift, and I’ll happily accept all the excess."

Dandara was confused, but she readily nodded.

Once everyone had calmed down and focused, Priam gave them permission to begin.

He remained in the center of everyone while the army spread out into a large circle, keeping a few meters of distance from one another.

At that moment, Priam focused his thoughts on the system.

[Activate Transcendental Concealment] [Yes / No]

Priam accepted. Immediately, his entire aura and presence were completely erased from existence itself.

**BUZZZ**

The heavens roared, and terrifying dark clouds began to cover the entire planet.

Priam looked around, seeing all the elite soldiers covered in colorful, pulsing energy scales. At the same time, he felt a devastating and invisible energy descending from the heavens and locking onto each of them.

And what about him? Priam looked up and smiled. He was completely free. Not even the world’s laws could sense his presence at that moment.

Suddenly, everyone felt the hairs on their bodies stand on end as an impending sense of death invaded their hearts.

The entire environment became dark and gloomy.

**RUMBLE!**

At that moment, a rain of lightning swords plummeted from the heavens, piercing the body of every disciple.

The scene looked like the very firmament was collapsing.

Everyone roared with all their strength, but blood inevitably sprayed everywhere. Their bodies were almost completely pierced through.

They all held their ground, although those with weaker defenses were already drenched in blood.

In mere seconds, the tribulation clouds roared again, with even greater fury.

**BOOOOOOOOOM!**

This time, an incomparably larger sea of lightning swords descended upon the soldiers. They felt the space around them freeze, leaving them with no way to dodge.

Those with the weakest defenses felt overwhelming despair. They were absolutely certain they wouldn’t be able to withstand it and would be left on the brink of death. However...

’Gather at the center.’

Priam’s voice echoed directly in the minds of all those who were most vulnerable.

Without hesitating for even a moment, they all rushed toward the center, where Priam was waiting for them.

The deadly lightning reached them at that very instant. Then...

Priam raised his hand toward the heavens.

In his chest, the Heart of Life and Destruction was activated.

All the lightning bolts directed at those disciples suddenly changed trajectory, converging directly toward him.

Then, the devastating storm simply disappeared—as if it had been swallowed whole by a colossal, ravenous beast.
