Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage
Chapter 416: Supreme Inheritance
Learning the Sacred Yin Magic Art meant a drastic change in the life of any female Sage within the sect. Even if she only mastered the 1st stage, at the same power Rank, if an ordinary female Sage managed to learn this stage, her combat ability would immediately put her at the top among all the sect’s disciples.
Throughout history, it was impossible to count how many women who had once been considered average or unremarkable rewrote their destinies after mastering this technique.
The biggest obstacle, besides requiring high compatibility, was the lack of detailed information. The Sovereign Goddess had merely built the Palace for training and left behind a basic summary of the stages. Nothing more.
Everyone who wanted to learn it had to fill in the gaps on their own.
However, if the Magic Rune they created contained even the slightest flaw, the result would be a violent reversal of the energies in the future—most likely culminating in a bloody death. The danger of trying to structure magic this way was feared by every Mage or Sage in the world.
Naturally, over the countless eras, countless Elders and illustrious figures of the sect had developed their own variations of the method and passed this knowledge down to their disciples. For this reason, almost everyone who tried to learn it chose to follow a path that others had already explored.
Unfortunately, even so, very few achieved any success. And among the few who did, none had ever surpassed the 1st stage. The adapted methods introduced variables into the original technique, making the disciple permanently incompatible with the following stages.
Thus, those who truly wanted to reach the higher stages had to have the courage to create their own method from scratch, accepting all the deadly risks of the journey.
Thousands of years of dedicated effort were required, conducting meticulous tests while constantly being just one wrong step away from dying a miserable death.
Priam had already heard this entire explanation during the night he spent with Dandara. And knowing the current Dandara a little... he could say with certainty that this had been exactly the Goddess’s intention back then.
It was a brutal test of determination and courage. To master the technique, a disciple had to risk her own life without hesitation. Copying someone else’s path might help some understand the first stage, but it would never take them very far.
How many had died in this process?
It didn’t matter. The journey toward immortality was a battle against the very laws of the world and, above all, against oneself. If a person couldn’t overcome this barrier, even with so many resources left behind to help them, then it was better for their journey to end there.
That was the final lesson the Sovereign Goddess had left for all the women of her sect: a Warrior’s Spirit had to be forged in the fire of trials. There was no smooth or easy path in life.
You might be insignificant now, but if you had enough determination, you could reach the top with your own hands.
Reaching the 2nd or 3rd stage would turn any disciple into one of the most terrifying figures in the entire sect, far surpassing even the greatest prodigies. In the future, becoming a Central Elder would be almost guaranteed.
Compared to the absolute geniuses of the northern region, there would still be a huge gap. But raw power wasn’t the main point.
After overcoming such a difficult obstacle, no matter what barriers appeared in the future, that person would face them without fear. This unshakable will would become deeply engraved in their soul. Even if they failed to reach immortality in this life, the true lesson would be eternal.
Anyone who forged their Warrior’s Spirit would, essentially, be walking an extraordinary path.
Priam and Dandara entered the Palace with calm steps.
At that very moment, an overwhelming aura struck them like the blow of a giant’s hammer.
Priam’s eyes widened. That presence... it was as vast as an entire world, yet at the same time, it gave him an incredible sense of familiarity and comfort.
When he looked to the side, he saw Dandara go from one extreme to the other—her "Final Boss Mode" activated in the very same second.
Priam let out a soft sigh. That majestic aura undoubtedly belonged to the Sovereign Goddess. He didn’t even need to ask to know that Dandara was feeling a deep resonance.
It must have been bizarre and painful to return to a place and gaze upon your own creations from the past without remembering anything. Her consciousness resonated with every carving in the palace, leaving Dandara in a constant state of confusion, as if she were trapped in a never-ending déjà vu.
She had confessed to Priam that ever since she first entered the inner sect, whenever she closed her eyes, she felt as if she were about to remember something crucial, yet she could never reach that memory.
It was a true psychological torture.
Even so, Priam had reassured her by giving her one certainty: Once she became an immortal, she would understand everything that was happening.
He felt that once she reached that level, the seals on her Anima and the Wheel of Destiny would finally collapse. Although he wasn’t absolutely certain, someone as extraordinary as she would inevitably recover her glory and memories.
Realizing this sometimes left a trace of fear in him whenever he thought about it. Maybe the Dandara he knew would die that day; maybe she would lose interest in him. But... he quickly pushed those dark thoughts away.
It didn’t matter. More than anything, he still wanted to see her recover everything she truly was. To Priam, her happiness came first.
Back to the present.
The Palace revealed itself as a colossal, open hall stretching for thousands of meters. Scattered in every direction, thousands of women stared upward in absolute silence. The atmosphere inside was cold and austere.
Floating majestically above everyone was an enormous, golden, pulsating Rune Diagram, with all 9 stages of the Magic Art engraved within it.
Priam and Dandara silently gazed at the diagrams.
Upon seeing that projection, ordinary people barely dared to take a deep breath. The Diagram had been forged from the very essence of the Sovereign Goddess and emanated such terrifying majesty that it filled everyone’s chest with an irresistible urge to kneel.
Priam began analyzing the runic text from the very beginning, side by side with Dandara.
Several minutes passed in absolute silence...
Until he curled his lips into a faint smile.
’It’s really vague and fragmented. But... now I’m certain. She created this technique using the fundamental principles of Divine Knowledge of Magic and Energy, Natural Elements, and Combat Mastery. She synthesized concepts that only someone who had studied these disciplines deeply could understand with ease.’
Priam slowly drew in a breath. He already knew that, in the past, the Sovereign Goddess had possessed a system identical to his. She had risen to the pinnacle of the world by acquiring the same things he had.
This kind of knowledge provided by the system was vast and filled with complex theories. Even the basic subjects Priam had mastered in the past contained explanations he had never heard anywhere else, not even in the divine plane.
That perfectly explained why no Sage in the sect had ever managed to surpass the 3rd stage. Without understanding the fundamentals that Priam and the Sovereign Goddess shared, breaking through that barrier was practically impossible.
She had designed the technique knowing this, deliberately leaving gaps so that there would be a minimal margin for interpretation through the study and individual effort of others. However, that understanding had a very clear limit.
As for why the Pixies could reach the 8th stage... he still didn’t fully understand. Perhaps the unique magical nature of these Beasts made the process easier, and the technique had been shaped with that affinity in mind.
Priam turned toward Dandara.
She kept her eyes fixed on the golden diagrams, completely absorbed.
Holding her hand, Priam sent her a mental message:
’Can you understand any of this?’
She blinked slowly without taking her eyes off the sky. ’I think so... but my mind is confused. It’s like trying to see a person standing on top of a distant mountain. I try to focus on the details, but it feels impossible to see them clearly.’
’Hmm... that’s fine. Just listen to me and follow my explanation.’
Priam discreetly pointed toward the beginning of the Diagram, and Dandara followed his gaze.
Mentally, Priam began deconstructing what the Sovereign Goddess had actually intended to convey. He simplified the explanation as much as possible, adapting the concepts so Dandara could at least form a solid foundation.
Anyone else would have become even more lost with concepts this advanced. But... Dandara’s eyes began shining like stars.
It was as if Priam were telling her something she already knew but had forgotten. Although she had no memories of her past life, his words made absolute sense to her, allowing her to assimilate everything with frightening ease.
...
The hours slowly slipped away.
Five entire days passed with the two of them standing there.
The two were sitting in a corner of the hall, side by side, holding hands and immersed in their own world.
Mentally, Priam explained the technique to Dandara stage by stage. She asked specific questions and, after a few short minutes of discussion, she already understood the essence of what he was trying to convey.
Then, finally, the explanation reached the legendary 9th stage.
The first eight stages were simple for Priam to decipher. However, that final one was a massive question mark.
It didn’t seem to be derived from any theoretical knowledge he possessed through the system. This made him wonder whether the Sovereign Goddess had actually intended for anyone to learn the final stage.
Priam communicated mentally with Dandara, his tone slightly helpless:
’This final part is the strangest one for me. Even I can’t figure out exactly what she meant. It seems she required the creation of a peculiar Magic Rune capable of controlling and resonating with all the others. But... from the perspective of traditional magic, the structure seems flawed...’
’I know what it is!’ Dandara suddenly exclaimed excitedly. ’This is a Principle from the Goddess’s Heritage that I received!’
’Oh?’ Priam was slightly surprised.
She turned toward Priam, staring deep into his eyes.
Priam watched a radiant and enchanting smile blossom across her face—a completely genuine expression that made his heart race.
Dandara was truly happy, and that happiness infected Priam, leaving him exhilarated.
’I can create it!’ she declared mentally.
Priam nodded, and suddenly, a peculiar realization surfaced in his mind.
Had the Sovereign Goddess created that 9th stage knowing that no one would ever be able to learn it? Was it a safeguard left behind in the world in case she died, ensuring that her future reincarnation would be the only one capable of inheriting it?
After thinking for a second, Priam became absolutely certain.
Dandara had always been calculating and thought ten steps ahead... when she was taking things seriously. Without a doubt, that 9th stage was a supreme inheritance she had left for herself in the future.
