Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage

Chapter 299: Supreme Sovereigns

Priam’s vision began to darken. Just as collapse seemed inevitable, a gentle, warm natural energy flowed through his veins, stopping the bleeding and beginning the regeneration.

Common Ether recovery pills were already useless to Priam, but they still worked perfectly on Mirra. Because of that, she had a few emergency pills to keep him alive.

*BUZZ!*

A sharp, crystalline hum cut through the silence, drawing his attention.

Before him, a mass of celestial-blue energy condensed. It stood just over a meter tall, the sphere gently twisting like a living, hypnotic flame.

Priam blinked, confused. An old memory from his life on Earth surfaced spontaneously.

"Is that a Wisp?"

"No, I am Heaven’s Will." The mechanically neutral voice calmly echoed. "I do not possess a physical body, and this form is the simplest and most stable way to condense my consciousness. In many worlds, it is common for spiritual races to converge into this same visual manifestation."

Priam silently nodded. In fact, Mirra had also looked like a Wisp when she was born, but since she had been such a tiny ’flame,’ he hadn’t been all that surprised.

He had already noticed something both surprising and fascinating: on Earth, a planet apparently inhabited only by powerless mortals, there were records and legends about countless races and magical phenomena. What humanity considered pure fiction was actually a distorted echo of the multiverse’s reality.

Something truly special had definitely happened on that planet.

"First of all, I offer you my sincerest thanks for eliminating those invaders." The entity’s voice gained subtle hints of emotion, though it still sounded slightly synthetic.

Priam gave a slight nod. Although he had possessed the power necessary to win, his lack of experience had almost cost him his life.

But there was no way to blame him. After all, deep down, he was still James Wube; this new life had lasted barely over a decade for him. Compared to beings that had existed for thousands of years, Priam was practically a newborn.

Fighting with a blade at his throat while reasoning flawlessly about every available resource in the heat of battle was a mastery that couldn’t be acquired overnight. Sometimes he made mistakes; sometimes he hesitated. But the fundamental thing remained: he kept moving forward and learning.

"As promised, I will give you everything I know, and I will grant you a reward worthy of your deeds," declared the Heaven’s Will.

The bluish flame shone intensely and twisted. The next instant, an image was projected directly into Priam’s consciousness.

The vision that unfolded in his mind was majestic. Compared to concepts from Earth, it looked like a colossal three-dimensional spider web suspended in the void.

The entire structure shimmered in a celestial-blue hue against the infinite darkness, and at every intersection of the strands, a point of pure white light shone, looking like a star.

There were millions of glowing points, like an ocean of stars interconnected by webs.

"What you are looking at now is a fundamental representation of the Whole."

"The Whole? You mean..."

"Yes. *Everything* that exists. Each white point is an individual world. There are exactly 7,777,777 worlds in the Whole. Each has its own laws and peculiarities, but the primordial structure remains the same."

Priam swallowed hard. The sheer scale of the revelation made his mind waver. A single world was already something far beyond his comprehension... and there were nearly eight million of them? The possibilities of existence were truly endless.

"Can you see the center of everything?"

Priam focused his attention. Indeed, all the lines of the ’spider web’ converged toward a single point at the heart of the cosmos, where an orb of white light shone, much larger and with a different radiance from the others.

"That is the Ur-World—the world where you currently live. It was the first to be created and is the core of all existence. Being the first of all does not necessarily make it the most prosperous or the best. But it grants it a unique property: from the Ur-World, it is possible to access any other existing world with relative ease."

The Heaven’s Will paused briefly before continuing:

"Escaping from a world is almost impossible—even if a world’s Heaven’s Will were to burn its own existence away in an attempt to accomplish such a feat, it would still be extremely difficult. Even with the slightest chance, one could only go to a nearby world. But in the Ur-World, it is possible to connect with the threads of reality and travel anywhere. However..."

The entity’s voice became solemn:

"There is a natural anomaly that has slightly higher chances."

"In all worlds, mortals are born carrying a singular spark. They are like seeds, with the potential to ascend to infinity. Under certain conditions, a mortal can reach Immortality. But there is an infinitesimal chance of breaking through the supreme limits: awakening within oneself the absolute power of Creation—the primordial force that gave birth to everything. These are those above an immortal, commonly known as Sovereigns."

Priam let out a deep sigh. The conversation was reaching levels so far removed from his current reality that it almost felt abstract, but he knew those words would become the foundation of his future.

"When a mortal reaches mastery over Creation, they can distort the very logic of reality and break through dimensional barriers. The Sovereigns of the Ur-World are individuals who have reached this level. Being the oldest world, six figures of such magnitude emerged over countless ancient eras."

"Together, these six Sovereigns discovered that by combining their powers, they could cross the boundaries of the Ur-World with extreme ease. Once they realized they had privileged access to all 7,777,777 worlds, their greed became insatiable. They became interdimensional predators, invading worlds and plundering the power of each one to become invincible and truly supreme."

Priam even forgot to breathe.

The true scale of it finally sank into his mind: the Sovereigns weren’t merely local tyrants of the Ur-World; they were a cosmic plague tormenting the existence of countless worlds at the same time.

"But..."

Suddenly, the Heaven’s Will’s voice changed, taking on an almost solemn tone of admiration and reverence.

"No one could have predicted such a shocking outcome. Those six invaded and plundered worlds for ages, until, finally, they crashed into an impenetrable steel wall."

"They invaded an extremely distant world. And there... the one who ruled it wasn’t an ordinary Heaven’s Will, but a mortal who had ascended to the same level as the Sovereigns. That world was absolutely unique. Something catastrophic had happened there in the past, to the point that even the world’s fundamental pillars had been destroyed."

The entity paused briefly before emphasizing:

"Believe me: the pillars of a world are priceless. When even a single pillar is destroyed, the entire world becomes almost uncontrollable for Heaven’s Will. And if all of them are destroyed? The world descends into irreversible chaos, where no life can survive for long, eventually culminating in the absolute collapse of everything... exactly like my own realm is about to become."

"However, that mortal took the burden of existence upon his own shoulders. He rebuilt every pillar in a unique way, stabilizing and reshaping the entire world. The level of ability, creativity, and control required for such a feat is beyond reality itself. Even I can barely comprehend how it was possible. The level of that existence is indescribable... I would call him a Supreme Sovereign."

"And it doesn’t end there. That same world gave birth to a second entity with the exact same capabilities as the first: a second Supreme Sovereign. Normally, the coexistence of two beings at that level would cause a disaster—two tigers cannot inhabit the same mountain. However... those two possessed an absolute connection. Not only did they never come into conflict, but they joined forces to transform their world into something beyond imagination."

"Their combined efforts created something priceless. The universes of that world became cradles where life emerged and flourished endlessly, under the benevolent supervision and protection of both of them. The duty that should have belonged to the Heaven’s Will was carried out by two mortals devoid of greed or tyranny. They never needed to drain the world’s energy to grow stronger; instead, they forged an entirely new path of ascension. Over time, two more figures reached the level of Sovereigns in that place. Even so, all four acted in perfect harmony, like a single existence."

After a pause, the voice became serious:

"And that world... is exactly where you and the Goddess came from."

Priam’s eyes widened, his heart pounding in his chest. Where had he come from? Was that fabulous, legendary world the very same place where the planet Earth existed?

"When the six Sovereigns of the Ur-World invaded that place..." the Heaven’s Will continued, "...even with a numerical advantage of six against four, only *one* of those two Supreme Sovereigns was more than enough to face all of them at once. The six invaders suffered a humiliating and catastrophic defeat. They only managed to escape at the last second because they had previously devoured the power of dozens of other worlds..."

"At least that’s what they thought. I believe letting them escape alive was at least somewhat planned."

The voice paused thoughtfully before continuing:

"Even after managing to flee back to the Ur-World, the wounds inflicted upon their bodies and souls refused to heal. It was as if they had been marked by an eternal curse. Even I cannot comprehend the extent of the power possessed by those two Supreme Sovereigns."

"I know all of this because I spent ages using my last remaining energies to exchange minimal messages with the Heaven’s Wills of other worlds. It is a complicated method, but it is possible."

"After driving the invaders away, those Supreme Sovereigns began investigating their origins. He established contact with distant worlds, gathering information until he finally discovered the truth about the Ur-World. They were the ones who spread this knowledge."

"However, even for those two Supreme Sovereigns, crossing the boundaries to the Ur-World was impossible. Besides, within his own domain, a Sovereign possesses power amplified several times over."

"This final piece of information was what the Goddess transmitted to me in the past." The Heaven’s Will’s voice became extremely grave.

"If the six Sovereigns of the Ur-World were left alone, they would eventually heal themselves by devouring the essence of other vulnerable worlds. They use Mages and Sages as pawns to carry out this filthy work while they recover in the shadows."

"Imagine how much destruction and death that would cause. Besides, who can guarantee that after accumulating the power of thousands of destroyed worlds, those six wouldn’t rise to a level where they could threaten even the Supreme Sovereigns?"

Priam felt his blood run cold in his veins. The scale and gravity of his journey were finally revealing themselves with brutal clarity.

The Sovereigns of the Ur-World had to be eradicated at any cost. They were a deadly virus threatening the very fabric of the cosmos.

"Do you understand now?" it concluded seriously. "You and the Goddess were sent to this world for a meticulously planned purpose. The responsibility resting on your shoulders is immeasurable."
