Heavenly Dungeon: My Subordinates Are All Woman Monsters
Chapter 2: I Got Reincarnated?
Chapter 2: Chapter 2: I Got Reincarnated?
Silence, an endless silence.
Time seemed to lose all meaning. Perhaps only seconds had passed, perhaps centuries. Ragnar had no way of knowing.
Then, his consciousness slowly returned. A groan escaped his lips.
"...What the hell just happened?"
His eyelids felt incredibly heavy. With great effort, he slowly opened his eyes.
The first thing he noticed, was the cold sensation beneath him.
It wasn’t his old office chair. It felt like solid stone.
He blinked several times as his blurry vision gradually became clear.
Towering black pillars stretched toward an impossibly high ceiling.
Ancient crimson banners swayed gently despite the absence of wind.
Massive braziers burned with eerie dark-red flames that cast dancing shadows across polished obsidian walls.
At the end of the chamber stood an enormous throne carved from black crystal.
He was sitting on it.
"Huh...?"
Ragnar frowned deeply. His breathing slowed.
He looked down at his hands, and they were pale. Far paler than before.
His fingernails were unnaturally sharp, while strange black armor covered his body as though it had always belonged there.
Slowly, he lifted his head and examined the hall once more.
For some reason, every corner of this place felt incredibly familiar.
"I’ve... seen this before..."
His brows knitted together.
Then, like a dam breaking. Memories flooded into his mind.
The towering pillars, crimson flames, and obsidian throne.
The exact arrangement of the statues. Every single detail. He had personally designed them.
His eyes widened.
"No way..."
"This..."
"This is the throne room..."
"My dungeon’s final boss chamber..."
Ragnar shot to his feet so quickly that the sound echoed throughout the silent hall.
His heart pounded violently.
He looked around once more, this time with growing excitement mixed with utter disbelief.
"Don’t tell me..."
"I got reincarnated?"
He paused, his expression suddenly froze.
"...Wait."
"How the hell did I even die?"
The last thing he remembered was.
A sword that had emerged from his computer monitor.
"...That wasn’t a dream..."
Ragnar slowly touched his chest. There was no wound, and blood.
Yet the memory of that unbearable pain remained crystal clear.
He swallowed hard, an uneasy smile slowly spread across his face.
"If this really is my dungeon..."
His eyes gleamed with anticipation.
"...Then does that mean..."
"...I’m the Dungeon Boss now?"
Ragnar took a deep breath to calm his racing heart.
If this really was his dungeon of Dungeon Maker, then there should only be one way to confirm it.
"...Status."
The moment the word left his mouth, the space before him suddenly rippled like the surface of water.
A faint blue light gathered in front of him before expanding into a transparent screen filled with familiar menus and symbols.
"...Holy shit."
Ragnar’s eyes widened.
"It actually worked."
The interface floating before him was almost identical to the one from the game. Every icon, every menu, and even the layout were exactly as he remembered. It looked as though the game’s user interface had been pulled directly into reality.
For a moment, Ragnar simply stared blankly at the screen.
He had only spoken out of curiosity.
He hadn’t actually expected anything to happen.
Yet here it was, a fully functioning system.
His heartbeat quickened as excitement gradually replaced the confusion in his heart.
"So... I really did become the Dungeon Boss."
Without wasting another second, Ragnar began examining each menu one by one.
The first tab was his Status.
He tapped it.
Another transparent window expanded before him.
[Name: Ragnar Lindgren
Race: Demon
Class: Dungeon Maker
Level: 1]
"...That’s it?"
Ragnar blinked several times before reading it again.
There were no fancy titles, powerful skills, or legendary traits. Only three pitiful lines.
"I’m only Level 1?"
His mouth twitched.
"This has to be some kind of joke."
He clearly remembered the final boss he had personally designed for this dungeon.
That monster had been Level 100.
It possessed several devastating skills, immense physical strength, and enough health to challenge an entire party of beginner adventurers.
Compared to that, he was practically a newborn.
"So I inherited the position..."
"...but not the strength."
Ragnar rubbed his forehead helplessly.
"That’s one hell of a scam."
Closing the status window, he immediately selected the next menu.
Dungeon.
The transparent screen shifted once again, transforming into a detailed map floating before his eyes.
The moment he saw it, Ragnar instantly recognized every corridor and every room.
It was his dungeon, there was absolutely no mistake.
The entrance hall. The winding stone corridors. The monster rooms. The trap chambers. The treasure room.
And finally, the throne chamber where he was currently standing.
Everything was exactly where he had designed it years ago.
However, something immediately caught his attention.
"Huh?"
His brows furrowed.
"My dungeon had two floors."
Yet the map displayed before him contained only a single floor.
The entire underground section had disappeared as though it had never existed.
"What happened to Floor Two?"
No matter how much he searched, there wasn’t even an option to switch between floors.
It was simply, gone.
A strange feeling of unease slowly crept into his heart.
Then he noticed something even more alarming.
According to the game’s interface, every monster inside a dungeon should appear as a small colored dot on the map.
Green dots represented friendly monsters. Red dots represented invading adventurers. But now, the map was completely empty.
Not a single green dot could be found anywhere.
"...No monsters too?"
Ragnar’s expression stiffened.
He zoomed in on every room individually.
The goblin village, gone.
The cemetery where the skeleton skeleton spawns, gone.
The slime breeding pit was also gone.
Even the rooms that should have contained elite monsters showed absolutely nothing.
His carefully constructed dungeon, had become a hollow shell.
Ragnar swallowed nervously.
"...Don’t tell me..."
"I’m the only living thing in this entire dungeon."
Unable to sit still any longer, Ragnar decided to confirm it himself.
"Let’s look around."
There was no point in staring at menus forever. If he truly had become the Dungeon Boss of his own dungeon, then he needed to understand exactly what kind of situation he was in.
