Ragnar’s eyes moved rapidly across the list.

There were so many choices that he almost forgot that these were supposed to be the cheapest monsters available.

Some groups contained three monsters.

Others contained five.

The stronger creatures generally came in smaller groups, while weaker monsters could be purchased in larger numbers.

There were no patrol monsters wandering through the corridors, no creatures guarding the entrance, and no traps capable of slowing down intruders.

If humans returned in greater numbers, his goblins would have to fight every enemy themselves.

That wasn’t ideal.

"I don’t necessarily need powerful monsters."

Ragnar slowly tapped his finger against the armrest.

"I need numbers."

Ragnar stared at the monster list for several seconds, his eyes moving from one option to another as he considered how to spend his remaining Soul Points.

He only had five points left.

Five precious Soul Points that had taken him several days to accumulate.

He couldn’t afford to waste them.

At the same time, keeping them locked away forever wouldn’t help him become stronger. The entire purpose of obtaining resources was to turn them into power, and right now, his dungeon desperately needed more monsters.

Ragnar slowly scrolled back toward the Forest Wolf Group.

Ragnar stared at the three wolves displayed within the system window.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Let’s start with these."

The wolves were the first monsters he had encountered after awakening in this world. He still remembered how dangerous the first one had been when it attacked him.

More importantly, he had seen how difficult it was for his goblins to deal with them.

The goblins had eventually won through teamwork, but the battle had been far from easy.

Three more wolves would provide his dungeon with another capable hunting group.

"Purchase."

The moment Ragnar pressed the button, the system responded.

A strange feeling immediately spread through the dungeon.

Ragnar could sense it. It wasn’t exactly mana, but was more like the dungeon itself had acknowledged the purchase.

A faint ripple passed through the stone beneath his feet before disappearing into the corridors.

Ragnar’s eyes narrowed.

"So they should be somewhere inside the dungeon now."

He immediately opened the dungeon map. There’s three new markers appeared.

They weren’t inside his throne room. Instead, they had been placed in an open section of the first floor not far from the Goblin Camp.

Ragnar couldn’t help but smile.

"Perfect."

The wolves would be close enough to reinforce the goblins if necessary while still having enough room to roam.

He then returned to the Monster Shop.

"Four Soul Points left."

His eyes scanned the list.

He considered purchasing another group of wolves, but immediately shook his head.

"Not yet."

Having too many creatures of the same type wasn’t necessarily the best choice.

His dungeon needed variety.

Different monsters could serve different purposes.

A creature that could fly would be useful for scouting.

Something capable of setting traps would help defend the corridors.

And creatures with unusual abilities could become extremely valuable against adventurers who weren’t prepared for them.

Ragnar continued scrolling.

His eyes soon landed on another option.

[Poisonous Bat Group]

[Description: Small flying monsters possessing sharp fangs and weak natural poison. Capable of flying through narrow spaces and detecting movement through sound.]

Ragnar’s expression immediately brightened.

"Bats."

He imagined them flying through the dark corridors.

Unlike wolves and goblins, they could move above the ground.

That alone gave them an advantage.

If an adventurer entered the dungeon, the bats could follow them from above, monitor their movements, and potentially attack from unexpected angles.

"They could also act as scouts."

Ragnar nodded approvingly.

"One Soul Point isn’t expensive either."

He selected the group.

"Purchase."

Ragnar closed the notification.

"So far..."

"Three wolves and three bats."

He leaned back slightly.

"Not bad."

But three Soul Points remained.

Ragnar continued browsing.

He skipped over several monsters before stopping when he saw another creature that caught his attention.

[Description: Large arachnid monsters capable of producing strong, sticky webs. Their webs can restrict the movement of creatures and are particularly effective when used within narrow passages.]

Ragnar stared at the image.

Three enormous spiders were displayed inside the window, each one covered in dark fur with eight long legs and several sharp fangs protruding from its mouth.

His gaze shifted toward the dungeon map.

The first floor contained several long corridors.

Perfect locations for spider webs.

"If I place them properly..."

"They could turn the entire corridor into a trap."

Ragnar smiled.

"Buy."

Ragnar Also purchased the Forest Rat.

After that, the system window disappeared.

Ragnar remained silent, and he looked at the number for several seconds.

Once again, he was completely broke.

"...And there goes everything."

Ragnar couldn’t help but laugh, he had started with six, now he had nothing. Yet, unlike before, he didn’t feel disappointed.

He had gotten exactly what he wanted.

Ragnar stood from his throne.

"Let’s see what I bought."

He opened the dungeon map.

The markers representing his newly purchased monsters immediately appeared throughout the first floor.
