Chapter 947: Chapter 385: Merlin’s TNT_2

"Not yet." Seamus scratched his head and said, "I plan to tell them after school starts, what do you all think?"

"Hah!" Ron slapped the arm of the chair: "Wait until after school starts? By then it’ll be too late! Listen to me, mate, if you don’t make a move, what if someone else beats you to it? What will you do if Lavender Brown becomes someone else’s girlfriend?"

"What should I do then?" Seamus got anxious, "There’s still more than a month until school starts..."

"It’s simple." Ron said confidently, "Why not write her a letter now? You can tell her how you feel in the letter."

Who would’ve thought that the typically honest Neville would voice his disagreement.

"I think that lacks sincerity," he said, "Think about it, confessing your feelings in a letter, is that what a man should do? If you’re going to confess, it should be done face-to-face, don’t you think?"

Everyone agreed that this made sense.

But this proposal, surprisingly, came from Neville...

"I never expected," Seamus said with some emotion, "that one day I’d have Neville advising me on how to pursue a girl..."

"Hey!" Neville said, displeased, "I’m still right here!"

Everyone laughed together, and after a while, Seamus spoke up again.

"Then I’ll write Lavender a letter and ask her to meet up, how about that?"

"Sure, of course." Everyone said together.

Seamus was of the impulsive type — if he said it, he’d make it happen.

So, he picked up pen and paper and wrote a carefully worded letter to Lavender.

"Anyone who doesn’t know better might think you’re trying to court Juliet," Hermione said, rolling her eyes.

"So, shouldn’t you all tell me what’s happened now?" Harry took the chance to ask Hermione.

Hermione’s expression soured again.

"Why not ask your good friend Ronald!" Hermione said angrily.

"What’s wrong with me?" Ron was annoyed, "It’s not like I didn’t go skiing at the Alps with you, but I think it’s important to hang out together during the holidays, right? Instead of us going off alone to have fun, don’t you think I’m right?"

The last sentence was directed at everyone else.

Everyone face-palmed.

Gorgon running wild...

Ron really was hopeless.

"Did you ever consider..." Harry tried to put it nicely, "that maybe Hermione didn’t want to go skiing at the Alps?"

"Then why is she mad?" Ron retorted.

Harry slapped his forehead, turning back to Cassandra: "See, you guys said I was clueless."

Cassandra turned her head, stifling a laugh as she looked at Vivi, who was doing the same.

Indeed, as the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. Harry’s best friend being clueless did fit the pattern.

"Hermione just wants to enjoy some private time with you!" Neville said, frustrated and heartbroken, "Did you ever consider that possibility?"

Ron finally understood.

"Looks like you’re not entirely hopeless," Harry shook his head and said.

But now it’s too late to head to the Alps, as they’ve already arrived at number 12 Grimmauld Square, and the Grangers have left the United Kingdom for a vacation in Asia.

In the evening, Seamus received a reply from Lavender.

"Merlin’s TNT!" Seamus exclaimed in joy, "Lavender wrote me back! She said she’ll meet me at six in the evening, at Florin Ice Cream Shop in Diagon Alley..."

"What are we waiting for?" Ron urged impatiently, "Let’s hurry up then; it’s six in the evening... It’s already half-past five, and Lavender Brown might be in Diagon Alley now... Let me think, it might be a bit too late for the Knight Bus — how about using Flue Powder instead?"

"Great idea." Harry nodded immediately, "Seamus, get ready; we’ll set off right away — oh, someone should inform the kitchen that we won’t need dinner for the few of us tonight!"

"You go ahead." Vivi said with a light smile, "Cassandra and I will stay home... Hermione, are you going or not?"

"I’m not going!" Hermione crossed her arms, huffed, and said, "Let them handle this themselves!"

The only ones planning to accompany Seamus to Diagon Alley were the boys; there were four of them in total, holding Flue Powder as they stood in front of the fireplace.

"Diagon Alley!" Seamus shouted from inside the fireplace.

A burst of green flames appeared, and he vanished inside the fireplace.

Everyone followed suit, reaching Diagon Alley via Flue Powder.

After cleaning up, Seamus adjusted his clothes and anxiously asked Ron, "Ron, is there anything that seems off about me?"

"You’re fine." Ron replied, "Hurry to the ice cream shop, don’t keep Lavender waiting."

They arrived at Florin’s Ice Cream Shop, and sure enough, found Lavender waiting at a table.

Seeing them arrive, Lavender waved at them.

"Hi, Lavender." Seamus greeted Lavender openly.

"You two chat away." Harry said to Lavender, "We’ll sit off to the side for a bit."

The three of them sat not far from Seamus and Lavender, ordering three ice creams.

Harry was partial to the chocolate and raspberry ice cream with hazelnuts that Hagrid had once brought him, so he ordered the same again.

Sitting there, the trio ate ice cream while watching Lavender and Seamus chat.

"Do you think it’ll work?" Harry asked as he scooped a spoonful of nut-filled ice cream.

"I think it should," Ron chuckled, "it’s pretty close to a sure thing, you know, Seamus is pretty good-looking —"

As he said this, Ron was clearly not being quite sincere.

Yet, to Ron’s surprise, after chatting for just a short while, Seamus already had his arm around Lavender’s shoulder.

Simultaneously, Seamus gave everyone a thumbs-up.

"That rascal." Neville said through gritted teeth, "He’s quick with the moves!"

"Who isn’t?" Harry laughed, "Alright, as friends, we’ve got to show our support, don’t we?"

As they were gossiping over ice cream, a furious middle-aged man strode into the shop.

Standing at the door, he scanned the room and zeroed in on Lavender, who was cozying up with Seamus.

He marched directly to Lavender, pointed at her with trembling hands, and finally uttered a sentence.

"Lavender, you’re unbelievable..."

"Dad..." Lavender was clearly shocked to see her father here.

"You’ve really let me down." Mr. Brown said, pointing at Lavender, "You’ve really grown, haven’t you, Merlin’s beard..."

With that, Mr. Brown covered his face with a hand.

Seamus had already stood up by then, seeing how things were turning, he said to Mr. Brown, "Mr. Brown, please don’t be upset..."

Mr. Brown impatiently brushed Seamus aside.

"Dad, don’t be like this!" Lavender pleaded.

"What’s wrong with it?" Mr. Brown was laughing in anger, "Your uncle told me you were at Diagon Alley having ice cream, and I said it’s impossible! Lavender is a good child, she’d be at the hospital with grandma, not having ice cream at Diagon Alley! Oh my... Merlin’s pants..."

"Mr. Brown..." Seamus bravely spoke up, "This isn’t Lavender’s fault, it’s mine..."

"Your fault?" Mr. Brown laughed angrily, gave Seamus a shove: "What good does blaming you do?"

"Dad!" Lavender tugged at Mr. Brown’s arm: "Can you not be like this!"

"How am I being?" Mr. Brown yelled angrily: "Lavender, your grandma is sick, do you know that?!"
