Harry Returning from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 938 - 381: Lily’s Memories
Chapter 938: Chapter 381: Lily’s Memories
Harry sat docilely in place, having no intention of provoking Snape.
Looking up to observe the surroundings, Harry noticed a fish tank on Snape’s desk.
The fish tank was empty, except for a few decorative rocks and some aquatic plants.
Where’s the fish in the tank?
Thinking to ask Snape, he realized the other was searching for something.
Harry decided to ask later.
Soon enough, Snape found the magic potion meant for Professor McGonagall and placed several potion bottles in front of Harry.
Or perhaps they weren’t magic potions, but clear liquid, with each bottle containing a larva-like object.
Seemingly sensing Harry’s confusion, Snape began to speak slowly.
"This is dew that hasn’t been exposed to sunlight for seven days, nor touched by humans," he said, "inside it are the pupae of ghost-faced moths."
Harry immediately thought about what this stuff was used for.
"Animagus?" he asked.
"Yes," Snape replied slowly, "now you can take these things back to report to Professor McGonagall."
Harry put away the magic potions but didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving.
Snape’s expression darkened.
Or rather, his expression had never brightened.
"Do you have something else?" he asked.
"Professor." Harry pointed to the fish tank on the table and asked, "I’m curious, what happened to the fish in that tank?"
Snape’s expression grew even darker.
He seemed to recall some painful memory, and even as a master of the Mind Sealing Spell, his pupils couldn’t help but flicker a few times.
Harry noticed that Snape seemed to be struggling with whether or not to speak, but eventually, Snape spoke up.
"This was given to me by someone else," Snape looked at the fish tank with a soft tone, "it used to house a little fish, but one day, that little fish..."
Seeing Snape unable to continue, Harry somewhat understood what was going on.
"It was conjured by magic, right?" he asked, "The caster died, so that little fish disappeared, right?"
Snape snorted heavily through his nose.
Harry knew, without thinking too much, who had given Snape such a cherished fish tank.
Who else but his mom, Lily?
"By the way, Professor." Harry tried to change the subject, "I remember my aunt seemed to know you? She sent me a photo of you and my mom when I was in first grade, were you neighbors?"
"Oh, your aunt."
At the mention of Penny, a cold smile appeared on Snape’s face.
"Not exactly," he said slowly, "her family lived not far from Spider’s Tail Alley. Anyway, you’ve got what you wanted, now take your magic potions and leave my home—"
"Just one last question, Professor." Harry quickly said, "—Do you know Aunt Penny? Why does Aunt Penny always have a bad expression when it comes to my mom?"
But Snape simply ignored him.
"Or did my mom ever do anything to hurt her?" Harry asked again.
He actually planned to have Aunt Penny meet his mom when he got the Resurrection Stone, hoping the sisters could mend their relationship.
If his mom had once hurt Aunt Penny, it would be... a bit difficult to handle.
As soon as he spoke, Snape’s expression darkened even further.
He stepped forward, with a gloomy face, and thrust those potion bottles into Harry’s arms.
"Get, out!" he said, enunciating each word.
Afterward, Snape turned away, never to look at Harry again.
Harry scratched his head, what was up with Professor Snape? Why was he so angry?
With such confusion, Harry left Snape’s house with the potion bottles.
Once Harry left, Snape quickly shut the doors and windows and sat in the chair, staring at the fish tank, lost in thought.
After delivering the items to Professor McGonagall, Harry returned to Grimmauld Square No. 12, and upon entering, saw Vivi reclining on the sofa in a daze.
Seeing Harry, Vivi waved and greeted him.
"Hey." She said with a smile, "Where have you been? Why did you take so long to come back?"
"I went to Professor Snape’s house." Harry said with some regret, sitting by Vivi’s leg, and casually placed his hand on her shapely legs, "Professor McGonagall asked me to help her fetch some magic potion for Animagus transformation."
"Why do you look like that?" Vivi said, raising her leg slightly and pinching Harry’s hand up and down, "You look like a child who didn’t get a Flying Broom."
"Ah..." Harry scratched his head, "I wanted to ask Professor Snape why my mom and Aunt Penny’s relationship is so strained, given they knew each other since childhood, and I thought he might know the reason."
"Why did you go ask Professor Snape?" Vivi looked at Harry with amusement, truly unable to understand why her boyfriend sought trouble with Snape in this regard.
Isn’t this picking the worst topic to bring up?
"It’s about breaking the Resurrection Stone’s curse." Harry said, "So I was thinking of having Aunt Penny use the Resurrection Stone to meet mom, I thought they should resolve their issues, don’t you think?"
"Oh... so that’s it." Vivi said with a smile, "I know about it, wait... just hold on for a moment."
Having said that, she disappeared from where she stood, and moments later, returned with a Meditation Basin placed on the table.
