Chapter 1045: Chapter 434: This Is a Good Thing! (Part 2)

"Not too many," Alfonso answered truthfully, "You know, master, their breeding ability is just too strong. I saw no less than ten thousand Eight-eyed Giant Spiders in the Forbidden Forest. During that time, I ate probably... hmm, around a few hundred."

"So many?" Harry was a bit shocked. He had thought there would be a lot of Eight-eyed Giant Spiders, but he never imagined there would be that many.

"You don’t know, master," Alfonso hissed in response, "Those spiders lay hundreds of eggs at a time... so their breeding speed is like a disaster... If the ecosystem in the Forbidden Forest could sustain them, I think their numbers wouldn’t be at this scale."

"You’re right, Alfonso." Harry nodded, imagining those tens of thousands of Eight-eyed Giant Spiders and feeling a shiver run down his spine.

Just the thought was terrifying enough.

If Ron were to experience it personally, wouldn’t he be scared out of his mind?

It’s just too frightening!

"Alright." Harry said, "Thank you, Alfonso."

"You’re welcome, master." Alfonso replied obediently, then asked, "Can I go back..."

Before he could finish, Harry said, "You can, but not right now—you know, I’ve been quite busy with studies lately. Once I’m done with this period, I’ll come here to get you."

"All right, just don’t forget, my master!" Alfonso hissed a bit aggrievedly.

"What are you guys talking about?" Vivi suspiciously asked, looking up.

"Alfonso wants to return to my side." Harry shrugged, "But I’ve been busy lately, don’t have time to take care of it, so I told it to wait for a while."

For a while?

Vivi chuckled and shook her head; that ’while’ might just be as long as a year and a half.

You know, Harry still has a year and a half before graduating from Hogwarts, so Alfonso will have to wait.

At this moment, Vivi also finished her work.

"Alright, things are done." She stood up and invited Harry, "We should get down to business now—"

Harry didn’t return to Hogwarts until Monday morning, so-called absence makes the heart grow fonder, and the meeting with Vivi left him feeling refreshed.

On Monday morning, when parting, Vivi reluctantly asked Harry when he would come to see her next.

"Maybe over the weekend if I have time," Harry replied.

During the morning Spell Class, Harry told Ron and Hermione about his plan—of course, first using earplugs on the surrounding students, otherwise if those non-Dueling House students want to participate, it would be troublesome.

Harry was not good at refusing others.

"Wow!" Ron exclaimed when Harry finally finished speaking, waving his Magic Wand around, unaware of what he was doing, "Wow, are you really going to hold such an event? I mean—are we really going to deal with the Eight-eyed Giant Spiders? I think you’re crazy!"

"Ron, you’re creating snow," Hermione said kindly, grabbing his wrist to stop the Magic Wand from pointing at the ceiling, where large white snowflakes had already begun to fall.

Harry thought, love really nourishes a person, just see—Hermione has even learned to be gentle.

The sun must’ve risen from the west.

However... Hermione might revert after a while.

"Oh, by the way," Ron looked at his own shoulder, somewhat surprised, "Sorry... we’ve got annoying dandruff on us..."

He brushed away some fake snowflakes from Hermione’s shoulder, flashing a wide grin.

Just then, Professor Flitwick approached.

Only Hermione and Harry had turned their liquids into wine, their flasks filled with deep red liquid, while Ron’s flask still contained a murky brown-yellow.

Near them, Neville was the same, but he wasn’t chatting.

However, Professor Flitwick clearly didn’t plan to let Neville off, perhaps due to a heads-up from Neville’s grandmother.

"Alright, alright, kids," Professor Flitwick scolded sharply, "Less talk, more action... let me see you do something..."

Ron and Neville lifted their Magic Wands, concentrating as they pointed them at the flasks. Neville’s vinegar turned into ice, while Ron’s flask exploded.

"Well... homework..." Professor Flitwick said, crawling out from under the table, brushing off glass shards from the top of his hat, "Practice."

After Spell Class, it was a rare common free time, and the three walked back to the common room together.

"It’s almost time for the match against Ravenclaw," Ron said, "Any thoughts on it?"

"My thought is you guys should intensify your practice." Harry tossed his clothes over his shoulder and said, "Oh, I almost forgot, I need to organize a pre-match training... hmm, let me think, remember to help me notify Ginny and the boys later, and you get Ginny to notify the girls."

"Alright, Captain." Ron saluted playfully.

Quidditch practice is quite a thrilling affair, of course, as long as the weather is fine during practice, not crazy storms or severe cold.

The Gryffindor Quidditch Team gathered on the pitch and started training.

Ginny didn’t seem bothered at all by the breakup; on the contrary, she was even more cheerful, joking and playing with her classmates, especially loving to imitate her brother Ron’s awkward moments.

Ron didn’t seem bothered by Ginny’s antics either, after all, his sister just broke up, better not to do something he shouldn’t, lest he hit a nerve.

If his sister got upset and told his mom, that would be trouble.

As the Seeker and Captain, Harry wasn’t too busy, he just needed to direct everyone nearby Ron on what to do.

"You know?" Ron suddenly said nonchalantly, "Ginny broke up—I really didn’t expect her to break up so quickly."

Harry thought for a long time and couldn’t think of how to respond, finally squeezing out, "That’s a good thing!"

"It definitely is a good thing," Ron nodded and agreed, "At least my sister won’t be kissing someone dark-skinned—I really wonder how she even managed it."

"Uh, a bit of racial chivalry there, Ron," Harry tried to remind Ron.

"No big deal," Ron said indifferently, "It’s just you and me here, what’s the harm in being biased? I just can’t stand it... Of course, the annoying part is yet to come, guess who’s told me he likes my sister?"

Saying this, Ron casually swatted the Ghost Flying Ball away from him, looking quite stylish.

"Who?" Harry’s gossiping heart was piqued by Ron.

"Speaking of which, it’ll shock you." Ron said somewhat exaggeratedly, "Ha, Malfoy, he actually likes my sister..."

"Draco?" Harry asked in surprise, playing along.

"Yes, Draco." Ron sighed, "I really didn’t expect it to be him, what do you think, does he have a problem? Or did he lose his mind? How could he like Ginny?"

Harry held back, saying nothing.

What could he say?

Your sister’s first and foremost a Pure Blood, which is the most important.

Secondly, your sister is pretty.

Then, your sister plays Quidditch well.

Finally, your sister is quite a capable witch.

Every point strikes right at the heart of Young Master Malfoy! The only flaw in the ointment may be that Ginny is in Gryffindor, not Slytherin, otherwise you think he wouldn’t crash into the wall for her?
