Chapter 188 Touchdown!
Kyle was informed about the plan to leave by Ella. She wanted to leave back to her apartment to pack her clothes but Kyle wasn’t having any of that.
He informed her that there was no need for that because he could buy anything they needed.
Kyle just wanted to get out of there, he needed this more than them.
And his wish was granted because they were all ready to go in less than 30 minutes.
It took approximately an hour for them to arrive at their location or at least, in the city.
The scenery was different and Kyle could imagine how many spoiled rich kids grew up here.
Kyle liked the air here, it was different from the one he had grown accustomed to.
Ella and Jane were talking despite Jane sitting in the passenger seat.
She was his passenger princess but Kyle noticed Ella had gotten tense as they got closer to their destination.
“It is alright, you aren’t alone,” Kyle said and Ella flashed a weak smile through the rearview mirror where their eyes met.
“Besides, I want to see the kind of place you became this cringe emo edge lord,” Kyle teased and this made her smile.
Kyle’s eyes redirected to Jane and all he saw when his eyes settled on her was a loving woman.
“Don’t look at me like that, you’re making me nervous,” Kyle said but it was Jane who got flustered immediately.
“So fucking cute!” Kyle thought to himself.
He knew having Ella in the passenger seat would have been ideal because this would make it easier for her to give him direction.
However, Kyle wanted Jane beside him as opposed to having Ella because he wanted her to feel special.
“Are we almost there yet?” Kyle asked, it felt like they had been on the road forever.
“Yes, we are,” Ella said but Kyle realized that they were on a one-way road with a huge gate at the front.
“The hell…?” Kyle thought to himself. At the end of that gate, multiple buildings made it look like a gated community.
Jane had only been to Ella’s house once but she was very young so the perception she had of it as a kid didn’t do it justice whatsoever.
Kyle’s jaws dropped, tilting his head back as he looked at Ella in disbelief.
“Who the hell are you!?” Kyle asked in shock.
He was even more astonished that she was fighting for her life when she had such wealth under her thumb.
Or at least had, Kyle knew that the situation she found herself in when she was younger couldn’t be helped.
But it made her sacrifice all the more impressive but Kyle saw an opportunity here.
He needed to know more, he stopped at the gigantic gate stopping them from accessing the estate.
Kyle hoped that they would be allowed in because in a few seconds, a few heavily armed men approached them, they had assault rifles strapped on them.
“Is this the fucking military base?” Kyle whispered to her, the men didn’t equip their guns but their body language showed that they wouldn’t hesitate if the situation called for it.
“Hello there partner,” A man with a thick southern accent greeted, he was muscular but Kyle could tell he couldn’t escape old age.
The saggy skin hanging on his face told him that this man was well into his sixties and must be the leader of this little squadron.
“Hello there sir, I think I have someone here that belongs to you,” Kyle was cheeky but noticed that Jane’s body had stiffened.
“Can you lower the back window for me, partner?” The man requested to which Kyle complied, it would take a madman to try and rob this place with the amount of security present.

The back window was lowered and the man walked there to see who else was in the vehicle.
“Aren’t they expecting us?” Kyle thought to himself but the man soon screamed.
“EVERYONE ON THE GODDAMN GROUND! CODE RED! CODE RED!”
Jane’s heart sank but before it could escalate, they heard laughter from the back.
“You old bag! How are you still alive!?” Ella questioned.
“I’m a lot tougher than I look,” The man responded before signalling for the gate to be opened.
Ella knew him, he was one of the few people she got along with because she treated him more than security personnel but back then, he didn’t hold this position and was a normal security guard so he wasn’t treated with much regard.
This was why Ella’s treatment stood out for him because she didn’t need to do that but chose to.
“My parents should have taken a memo from your book,” Ella rolled her eyes and the man’s facial expression went cold.
“I’M KIDDING!” Ella had to quickly say when she realized she was using her humour with the wrong person.
“Don’t mind her, that is how she copes,” Kyle chimed in, grabbing Jane’s hand in the process.
This brought her back but Kyle didn’t even look at her and Jane felt her raging heart slow.
Kyle drove through the gates and knew that Ella was a different kind of money and was glad that he got into her good books.
If she could reconcile with her sister then there was no doubt that she could have a huge piece of this wealth that came with unimaginable influence.
Influence that money couldn’t buy but Kyle was getting ahead of himself and knew he had to calm down.
There were women in uniform, ladies and men he assumed to be maids and butlers waiting at the entrance of the biggest house within this compound.
Kyle realized the gigantic houses beside them were quarters for the staff, if anything he was looking at a building that rivalled the Whitehouse in size.
But if it was only one person living here, it wouldn’t make sense to live in such a big house alone but who was he to tell the rich how to live their life?
Kyle parked the car and before he knew it, a man sprung out of nowhere and offered to drive his car to the designated parking spot.
Kyle accepted but not before opening the car door for both Jane and Ella because he thought that Ella was exiled from this household but it looked like there were people who held her in high regard despite that.
This showed the kind of person she was if nothing else and Kyle wanted to show that he was treating her right so in turn, he would gain their favour.
Kyle glanced over at Ella and saw the look on her face, he had only heard bad things about this place but she was nostalgic just being here again.
Kyle knew she needed a moment to take it all in but wondered if her sister was around.
They didn’t throw her out or refuse her entry, did this mean that they recognized her as some sort of authority in this household?
“Are we going to go in?” Kyle asked with a raised brow and this brought Ella back from her nostalgic trance.
“Don’t mind me! Follow me!” Ella said, dragging Jane by the hand as the two ladies entered the house, leaving Kyle behind.
Kyle noticed the workers were on the younger side despite a few being older but at that age, what could they do?
There was a chance that they filled in the role of a mentor, who else was best equipped to train the younger generation than those who spent their entire life here?
Even though Ella remembered her parents hiring external workers so they could have an idea of how the outside world was.
Kyle shrugged, walking past them and inside the house, a single step within told him of the insurmountable wealth that these people possessed.
Every single thing here looked like they cost a fortune but Kyle had no idea where Ella or Jane were either.
“A house you can get lost in, what insanity…” Kyle mumbled but heard a voice beside him.
“Is there anything we can get for you, sir?” A man asked; he had on a white tuxedo with three maids behind him, waiting for Kyle to say what he wanted.
“Nothing for now, thank you very much but I do have a question,” Kyle said and the man gave him his full attention.
“What will that be, sir?” The butler asked but Kyle looked over his shoulder to make sure neither Ella nor Jane was behind him.
Once he confirmed he was in the clear, he proceeded with what he wished to ask the butler.
“Is Ella’s sister around?” Kyle questioned but the butler shook his head to deny this.
“I’m afraid Miss Cleopatra is not available but she will be joining us shortly,” The man responded.
Kyle was satisfied with this answer and caught a glimpse of the maids standing behind him but averted his gaze just as fast when he heard laughter in the next compartment.
“Found you…” Kyle muttered under his breath in relief.
“Women,” Kyle whispered to himself with a quirky smile.
