Harem Online: My Party Is Full of Beautiful Celebrities
Chapter 354: The Route That Brought Them Home
The silver doorway narrowed around Mireva’s outstretched arm. Martin threw the Galehook Trident through the opening.
Its prongs caught in the bronze relay frame behind her. Cast the Line marked the hit, and pursuit speed surged through his legs just as Hold the Line shattered behind him. The market reached him first.
A hooked chain wrapped around Breakwater Aegis. Two black hands seized the Worldshell plates over his shoulders. Contract seals opened beneath his boots, trying to register him as recovered property before the Sairren route could take him. Unyielding Grip tightened through both arms. Martin kept the shield.
He drove forward against the chain, following the trident’s pull while the silver doorway collapsed to the width of his body. Mireva caught his wrist. Rias grabbed the back of Mireva’s harness from the Belfry side, and Alexandra wrapped one arm around Rias’s waist. The market pulled in the opposite direction. Martin’s boots stopped at the threshold.
Elisebeth raised both hands. Silent Stage still surrounded the route-song, but black pressure had begun crushing the spell inward.
"I cannot hold both sides!"
"Then let this side hear us," Mireva called.
Elisebeth released the spell toward the Belfry. Every stored vibration burst through the relay at once. The Sairren bellkeepers caught it with their tuning forks and turned the noise into one sharp route call. Angel answered.
The Dragon Turtle rammed her shell against the relay platform. The bronze frame boomed under the impact, and the Sairren tuning forks caught that vibration as part of the route-song. A violent silver pulse raced back through the doorway and struck the market’s grip from the opposite direction, breaking one of the black hands off Martin’s shoulder. Alexandra and Rias pulled. Mireva refused to release his wrist even when the closing route cut a red line across her palm.
Martin crossed the threshold. The market chain followed him into the Belfry. Gloamneedle severed it before the hook could catch anyone else. The silver doorway snapped shut.
Martin hit the bronze floor on one knee. The Galehook Trident remained embedded in the relay frame above him, vibrating from the force that had almost torn him in half. For several seconds, nobody spoke. Then Kumoe’s curious head shoved beneath Martin’s chin and knocked him onto his back.
The right head inspected his armor. The middle washed restoration across the damage along his side, then rested her muzzle on his chest with the weary entitlement of someone who had done all the work. Angel lowered her massive head until one blue eye filled Martin’s vision.
"I’m alive," he said.
Angel snorted warm air over his face. "Yes, you helped. No, that does not erase the damage invoice."
Her eye narrowed. Mireva sat beside the relay while a healer wrapped her palm. "The market used our stolen resonance to hide its roads. We turned one road back toward its source."
Rias looked at the dead conductor pattern around the frame. "Can it be done again?"
The older bellkeeper struck one fork against the bronze. No silver light answered.
"Not through that seal," Mireva said. "The route burned when it closed. If the market repairs the connection, we may hear it. We cannot depend on that."
"We won’t," Martin replied.
The injured lynx lay inside a circle of Sairren healers. Kinnami moved among them, strengthening the healers’ supports while Katherine treated the lynx’s burns and the strain left by the broken restraints. The animal remained wary of every human hand, but it allowed Kumoe’s middle head close enough to share restoration. The market notices arrived once everyone was stable.
[Recovery Crew Evaluation: Complete.]
[Courier seal recovered.]
[Living courier recovered beyond contract requirements.]
[Protected demonstration asset removed from Beastslayer sponsorship event.]
[Unauthorized interference recorded.]
[Guest access suspended.]
[Property damage assessment pending.]
A separate notice appeared above Angel.
[Oversized Protected Companion structural damages: 2 doorframes | 1 wall section | 1 route seal.]
[Payment responsibility assigned to Unhoused Six.]
Angel stared at Martin. "You broke all of those."
She looked toward Alexandra. "Do not involve me," Alexandra said. "I broke people, not walls."
Kumoe’s curious head produced a strip of dried market meat from somewhere beneath her collar. The right head had another. The middle woke long enough to reveal a third before returning her chin to the floor.
Alexandra slowly turned toward them. "You carried food through that entire fight."
The curious head wagged. Even Mireva’s exhausted wardens laughed.
Rias ended the moment by placing the surviving sponsorship ledger strip inside a silver evidence field. Part of it had burned during the escape. The lines they had already copied remained intact.
"Evidence review," she said. "Facts first."
The party gathered around the relay platform. Rias opened six protected records.
"The market existed before Just Die joined the Dark Side. Just Die uses services connected to it, but we found no proof that the guild built or controls the network."
She opened the courier testimony. "Beastslayer procurement passes through multiple intermediaries. The courier never saw the patron, buyer, or market owner."
The sponsorship fragment followed. "At least three separate broker-protected accounts funded one Beastslayer candidate whom the market listed as having no Just Die affiliation. We have not independently verified that affiliation label. Each account carried the classifications Dispossessed Patron, Lineage Verified, and Beast Grievance Active."
Cassandra added what her market observations supported. "Different services appeared to receive separate payments. That suggests several controlling interests or branches, but it does not prove there is no central owner."
Katherine looked toward the erased crest patterns copied from the lodge and auction hall. "We repeatedly encountered noble language, inward signet rings, removed crests, household formations, inherited claims, and arguments about old agreements with intelligent beasts."
"Strong evidence of noble involvement," Rias said. "Not enough to identify a house, region, or single faction."
Alexandra rested a hand on Kumoe’s right head. "We know some of them blame beasts for abandoning roads, borders, and settlements."
"We also heard someone argue that humans tried to turn voluntary agreements into ownership," Martin said. "We don’t know which account was true, or whether both described different events."
Rias separated the remaining uncertainties into another window.
[Unresolved: Responsible house or lineage.]
[Unresolved: Market ownership and command structure.]
[Unresolved: Sponsor identity.]
[Unresolved: Any link between the conductor installer, the live-bond buyer, and the Beastslayer patrons.]
[Unresolved: How many dispossessed lineages support Beastslayers.]
Cassandra stared at the list. "We learned enough to know how the threat is spreading. Not enough to accuse anyone."
"Which is why we do not announce it," Rias said. "Our access is suspended, but the courier, the candidate, or the neutral buyers may create another route later. We protect what we know and wait for evidence instead of forcing the next door."
Martin agreed. The review ended only after every theory had been labeled. Alexandra waited until Rias moved to secure the records before catching Martin by the front of his damaged coat.
"Do not do that again."
Her voice carried no teasing. Katherine stood beside her, one hand still resting on her open tome. Cassandra approached more slowly.
Martin looked toward the sealed relay. "Someone had to remain until Angel crossed."
"I know," Alexandra said. "That is why I am not calling you stupid. I am telling you that watching the door close on you frightened me."
Katherine sat beside him on the edge of the platform. "All three of us knew why you stayed. Understanding did not make it easier to watch."
Cassandra folded her hands, then let them fall apart. "I almost began explaining why the decision was tactically necessary. I do not want to hide behind that. If there is another option, take it. If there is not, come back before the route closes."
Martin could not promise never to stand last. That would be a lie, and all three women would know it.
"I won’t do it merely to prove I can," he said. "And I won’t decide alone when there is time to ask."
Alexandra pulled him into a kiss before releasing his coat. Katherine remained against his shoulder afterward, and Cassandra took his hand without looking to Alexandra for permission or reaction. Alexandra did not pull either woman away.
Elisebeth watched from beside the lynx. Her grip tightened once around her staff, but she said nothing. Rias remained focused on the evidence, exactly where she wanted to be. Rias sealed the quarantined Contact Seal before anything else could crawl through the burned route.
"No more market tonight," she said. "We already know enough to make mistakes if we keep pushing while exhausted."
Alexandra still had one hand twisted in the front of Martin’s damaged coat. Some of the fear had left her face, but not all of it.
"Good," she said. "Because after we sleep, you owe me something painfully ordinary."
Martin smiled despite the ache in his shoulders. "I remember."
