Grinding to the Martial Sage from the White Ape Fist

Chapter 422 - 404: The Power of the Profound Bone Realm

  • Next Chapter

Qin Fangqiong and Ding Yi arrived together, stepping into Huyan Mansion.

Li Jingxuan and Tiemu Cha were the first to see the two masters, and their expressions grew grim. The fight between them came to a tacit halt.

Tiemu Cha’s mission today was to save the Huyan Family, but now that Tiemu Bo was dead, they had already lost their chance.

Now, with the appearance of Profound Bone Realm masters, his own combat prowess could no longer decide the battle’s outcome. Besides, fighting the Li family was troublesome regardless of the result, so he held back.

Li Jingxuan knew what the other man was thinking and was naturally unwilling to fight any further.

He had assisted Su Yu today and done all he could to help. The rest was up to Su Yu himself!

However, seeing two Profound Bone Realm masters make a move for Su Yu’s sake, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

It was natural for Qin Fangqiong to act, as he was Su Yu’s master. But even Ding Yi, a master all the way from Liangzhou, had formed an alliance with Su Yu. It seemed he wasn’t the only one who saw potential in the young man and was willing to invest in him.

’Perhaps I can increase my investment in Brother Su!’

An idea flashed through Li Jingxuan’s small, round eyes. He decided he would go back and ask his sister and the others in the family for their thoughts.

’Isn’t that monster in the clan always looking for talented allies to follow? With Brother Su’s talent and strength, he’s more than qualified!’

...

"Younger Brother Su, let’s go. Time to meet that Huyan Muyuan." Ding Yi, dressed in a green scholar’s robe with a short sword at his waist, had a calm and reserved aura. He smiled as he joined Su Yu.

"Yu’Er, in a moment, I’ll let you witness a Profound Bone Realm battle. With your talent, you can get a head start on understanding this realm."

Qin Fangqiong was immense. Perhaps due to his previous injuries, his frame had seemed somewhat stooped. But now, having returned to the Profound Bone Realm, he was like a dead tree blooming in spring, or an old ape living a second life.

He stood tall and straight like a pine, a two-meter-long great saber slung across his back. His aura radiated outwards, wild and unrestrained, making him resemble a ferocious Demon Ape.

With these two by his side, Su Yu’s confidence surged. He nodded slightly and followed them through an ornate gate into the Inner Courtyard.

By now, it was nearly dusk. The setting sun cast down strands of red afterglow, which fell upon the century-old ginkgo tree in the rear courtyard.

Dappled light filtered through the lush canopy, casting shifting shadows upon Huyan Muyuan, who stood beneath the tree. It made his expression seem dark and grim.

"Su Yu, this ancient ginkgo of my Huyan Family grew from a seed brought from the Great Snow Mountains north of Liangzhou. It is now more than a century old. You, a mere junior of twenty, are truly ignorant and fearless."

Huyan Muyuan stared coldly at the three of them, his voice low as he spoke.

Su Yu smiled and replied softly, "Huyan Muyuan, from the moment you set your sights on Zhen’Er, the Huyan Family was doomed to perish."

"Rest assured, after the Huyan Family is gone, this century-old mansion will remain. This century-old tree will also remain. Its master will simply no longer be of the Huyan Family."

A dangerous glint flashed in Huyan Muyuan’s eyes. ’If not for the two people flanking Su Yu, I would have already charged over and killed this little thief with a single blow!’

’As if I’d be standing here wasting words on him!’

"You two," he said, turning his attention, "my Huyan Family came from the Great Snow Mountains and has been entrenched in Black Stone City for a century. Are you certain you want to move against us?"

As he finished speaking, an aura so tangible it seemed to have substance erupted from Huyan Muyuan. A ginkgo leaf falling above his head was visibly coated in a layer of frost, then silently split into three pieces as it drifted down.

A grave look flashed in Su Yu’s eyes. Sweeping the area with his Divine Sense, he could feel Huyan Muyuan’s aura enveloping a one-meter radius around him.

’Although I don’t know what this aura is, it seems to be a more profound application of it. It’s unlike my own usage, which is mostly simple and crude, like infusing it into my fists or using it to suppress an enemy’s spirit.’

"Not a bad aura."

Qin Fangqiong commented softly, stroking his beard. From his expression, however, he did not seem overly wary of Huyan Muyuan’s aura.

"Mr. Ding, allow me to test his strength first."

Qin Fangqiong drew the great saber from his back and stepped forward, one pace at a time. As he approached, an equally powerful aura erupted from his body.

One step, two steps...

When he reached Huyan Muyuan, his aura clashed with his opponent’s, and a series of booming collisions echoed through the air.

"Qin Fangqiong, since you’re courting death, don’t blame me for what happens next!"

Huyan Muyuan’s expression darkened completely. A long saber materialized in his hand. Gleaming with a cold light, its entire body was snow-white, and it emanated a frosty chill the moment it appeared.

’A Profound Tier Treasure Saber!’

Su Yu, with his astonishing perception, recognized it at a glance!

CLANG!

In the next moment, the two figures clashed!

The great saber in Master Qin’s hands seemed unremarkable, but when it collided with the snow-white long saber, its power was actually superior, and it showed no signs of damage.

’It’s also a Profound Tier Treasure Saber, as expected!’

Su Yu had already anticipated this, so he wasn’t surprised. His eyes were fixed on their battle, his Divine Sense constantly probing the clash of their auras.

Master Qin’s figure was sometimes as agile as a shadow ape, other times as ferocious as a Demon Ape. The great saber in his hands moved at will, its strikes shifting between heavy and light. His Demon-Subduing Aura made him impossible to guard against.

As for Huyan Muyuan, he wielded his Cold Blade Gale technique. The light from his saber carried a biting chill, and within the range of his aura, gusts of fierce wind and blade shadows swirled.

In the blink of an eye, they had exchanged more than ten blows. Wherever they passed, large branches of the century-old ginkgo tree were instantly shredded, turning into debris before they could even fall to the ground.

Huyan Muyuan’s aura radiated a bone-chilling cold, causing the temperature in the entire rear courtyard to drop noticeably.

Su Yu watched with a grave expression. Every single one of their strikes was terrifyingly powerful. If a Jiao Tendon Realm cultivator were to face them, they likely wouldn’t be able to withstand even a single blow.

’So this is a Profound Bone Realm master... I never expected them to be this powerful!’

’Even a casual strike from either of them is on a completely different level from one of my own strikes enhanced by two auras. It seems that besides their powerful foundation of Qi and Blood, there’s something else at play!’

He quickly swept his Divine Sense over them, trying to discern the secret to their power.

"Younger Brother Su, have you figured out the trick to it?"

Ding Yi had a keen eye. He could see that while Qin Fangqiong and Huyan Muyuan were close in strength, Master Qin had a slight edge. Noticing Su Yu’s frown, he guessed the young man was puzzled and asked his question, his own expression now a little more relaxed.

Su Yu observed them exchange a few more moves, then nodded slightly.

"I think I see what’s going on. As expected of Profound Bone Realm masters! Besides the power of their Profound Bones, their application of aura is also far superior!"

Su Yu said softly, looking at Ding Yi.

Upon hearing this, a look of astonishment flashed across Ding Yi’s face, and he couldn’t help but ask for more details.

"Younger Brother Su, you can discern how they are applying their auras?"

Su Yu nodded again in confirmation.

He currently commanded two types of auras. One of them was the Demon-Subduing Aura, which had even sublimated into Demon-Subduing Power after Breaking Limit.

Although he didn’t know exactly how his master was using it, he had already perceived a clue with his Divine Sense.

’The reason my master’s every strike is so powerful is that there’s an invisible force imbued within it!’

’This force is somewhat similar to my own Demon-Subduing Power. Perhaps it’s a similar type of energy!’
