Chapter 2514: Usurping Gods.

The half god of killing’s first reaction was one of shock that someone was capable of requesting a divine fragment from the Ocean of Blood. His second emotion was disbelief because there was only one person who should be capable of requesting a divine fragment from the Ocean of Blood, but that person shouldn’t be able to do it so quickly.

He said in disbelief, “But he just became an angel? Is a god helping him? Who is helping him?”

There are two types of authority of a pathway. The first one is the physical object of great power that can transform one into a god. The second authority of a pathway is the amount of influence that a godclad has on their pathway.

The second type of authority is highly significant to godlings and gods. The more influence someone has in a pathway, the more the physical authority of the pathway will favor them, and the easier it will be for them to fuse with the physical authority of the pathway and become the god of the pathway.

In fact, with enough influence over a pathway, a godling can cause the rank of a god to fall as the physical authority of the pathway deserts that god. Then the godling can take over the position of the god.

Usually, this kind of thing only works when the god of a pathway is inactive. The authority of the pathway will try to replace its wielder, so it will look for a replacement with a lot of influence over the pathway.

This is the kind of struggle that is going on in the machinery pathway. The god of crafts has been absent and inactive for a while now. Some people say he is dead, while others say he has been imprisoned.

Whatever the case might be, the absence of the god of crafts allowed the god of steam to appear. Now the god of electricity has also appeared.

If the god of steam is allowed to acquire more influence, he will replace the god of craft and become the true god of the pathway. This is something that has happened before. It is also something that the half god of killing is experiencing right now.

Legion hasn’t become a godling for long. But he can already tell that the Ocean of Blood likes Legion because he is losing influence at a fast rate.

His eyes widened in fear, and he said, “His talent for the pathway of blood must be extremely compatible. If he does something that affects the entire pathway, then I will be doomed.”

Influence is usually acquired through action. Legion hasn’t done anything yet, but he is still gaining influence. This can only be explained by Legion possessing a talent that is highly attractive to the Ocean of Blood.

If Legion’s talent is very attractive, the Ocean of Blood might move across the world to find him. In fact, the Ocean of Blood might have already found Legion if not for the fact that its movement is restricted.

As the half god sensed the rate at which he lost influence, he was sure that if not for the fact that the movement of the Ocean of the Blood had been restricted all this while because it was trapped, the Ocean of Blood would have found Legion and stayed with him even if he wasn’t an angel.

So now that Legion has become a godling, if Legion performs an action that will affect every killer in the pathway or affect the whole world, he will gain even more influence quickly. The more the half god of killing thought about this, the more fear he felt.

His fear turned into panic. Then his panic transformed into determination.

He said to himself, “I will keep fighting.”

Then he turned away from Legion’s direction and went back. His destination became the god of disaster. He is going there because the god of disaster is the only one he knows who can help him.

Now that Legion has become a godling and a talented one at that, he is sure that he won’t be able to defeat Legion even if he encountered Legion alone. There is also the fact that the Ocean of Blood might be under the control of a god.

Finally, there is the suspicion that Legion is being supported by a god, which was why Legion was able to grow so quickly and subdue his avatars so fast and become a godling so soon.

All of these reasons made him decide not to fight Legion now. He decided to upgrade his existence and acquire power quickly before he goes after Legion or the Ocean of Blood.

He already has a method that will help him grow quickly. This method is to recover all of his divine flesh and reform his divine body.

This method was something favorable to the god of disaster since he would have to kill a lot of lamp bearers in order to recover his divine flesh.
