Chapter 2504: Reward For Good Work.

The angel of knowledge dropped his knees to the ground and even bowed his head until his forehead touched the ground. As he did this, he said, “I beseech you, the all-knowing one, to bestow upon me the grace of immortality and divinity.”

“Liberate my pitiful existence and grant me your power. Please, make me into a better tool for your service.”

He was praying to the god of knowledge. This prayer is different from his usual one because he was asking the god of knowledge to make him a godling.

This is a large request that many have made before, but have been ignored or told that their qualifications were not enough. He, in particular, has asked for this many times, but has always been ignored. But this time, the god of knowledge replied.

Gods can also go back on their word and refuse to give their angels the divine fragment even if they are impressed. After all, each divine fragment given out is a loss to the god of the pathway. This is what made the god of knowledge so impressed and why the angel of knowledge had to become a godling.

Legion didn’t know that the angel of knowledge was going to use the information they provided to achieve what they came looking for. If they knew, they would become very angry with the angel and the god of knowledge.

But to be honest, their anger wouldn’t change much because even though they are not angry with the angel of knowledge right now, they have still decided to enslave the pathway of knowledge and devour all of their knowledge.

If they learned that the angel of knowledge had gained a great benefit because of them, they would only make the god of knowledge and that angel of knowledge experience more pain in the process of enslaving them. But the final outcome, which is to enslave the pathway of knowledge, won’t change.

Already, they have decided to enslave a godling of knowledge. If not for the fact that only angels of knowledge have access to the immense library of information that is present within the authority of the pathway of knowledge, they would have decided to enslave a demigod now.

It is because demigods of knowledge are mostly useless to them right now that they decided not to rush to enslave one yet. They will surely enslave one along the way, but they want to avoid drawing the attention of the god of knowledge for now.

The angel of knowledge became a godling. He doesn’t have an innate talent that is compatible with his pathway, but he still managed to advance because the god of knowledge was being generous.

Of course, this meant that he had to become a subordinate god whose existence was tied to that of the god of knowledge, not a godling with an independent existence. But he would still gain eternal life and wouldn’t die unless the god of knowledge died.

This is the benefit of having a god in the pathway. The authority of a pathway can never favor someone enough to help them advance when they don’t have a compatible innate talent. But the god of a pathway has the leeway in deciding who to help and how much to help them.

With his advancement, he doesn’t have to work in the white tower day and night anymore. So he left the white tower.
