GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2494: An Invitation.

Chapter 2494: An Invitation.

But the fact that the god of disaster didn’t need their faith didn’t mean he would allow some killer to slaughter his potential source of faith. So Legion either had to submit or die.

The god of disaster sent an angel of nobility to invite Legion to work for him. It was an invitation, but the goal of the angel was to recruit or kill Legion.

The arrival of this angel of nobility also coincided with the arrival of the angel of justice sent by the Church of Justice to kill Legion.

It can be said that Legion-3 was outnumbered. But Legion-3 sensed both sources of danger before they arrived and decided to escape.

The main reason for his decision to escape was that he had killed more than 60% of the people in the Hydra Kingdom and because he didn’t want to be too involved in the war on both sides.

If there was no god of justice or the god of disaster backing the two angels, Legion-3 would have surely stood his ground and killed them. But they had a god, and there is more than one god involved, and those gods are currently in a mood for violence. So Legion-3 escaped.

The two angels that were sent to catch him missed him. They gave up on chasing him since there was a war going on.

Instead of chasing him, they decided to fight each other. So Legion was able to slip away.

The god of dreams didn’t know about the intricate events that took place in the background. All he saw was that an angel of justice went to kill the killer in the Hydra Kingdom but was rebuffed by an angel of nobility serving the god of disaster.

This further reinforced his misunderstanding of the fact that the killer was working with the god of disaster. He obediently chose to focus on looking for his wayward telepath.

After his failure in the spiritual dimension, he had turned to other hints about Legion’s identity. The first and most obvious hint is that the second angel of telepathy is an undying godclad.

He got that hint after seeing the Aegis Shield around the dream island of the second angel of telepathy. Since it is the one hint that he is most certain about, he decided to go looking for powerful, undying godclads.

His second hint is that the second angel of telepathy can use a special divine ability or talent that can keep him hidden even when others are looking straight at him.

He isn’t sure how this talent or ability works, and there is no pathway that definitely has such an ability, so this hint is unreliable. This is why he decided to prioritize the Aegis Shield hint.

If he can’t find the second angel of telepathy among the powerful undying godclads, he will try to use the second hint to find them by going to see angels of knowledge to help him figure out who can possess such an ability.

He is not going to ask the god of knowledge for help even though he will surely be able to find the second angel of telepathy because gods eat each other.

Even if the god of knowledge doesn’t need his authority, the god of knowledge can still grow stronger by killing him and eating him. This is why even gods that are allies rarely appear together.

Unless divine allies swear on their authority, they won’t risk appearing with their true body to an ally. So rather than risk danger with the god of knowledge, it would be best to have an angel of knowledge, whom he can easily deal with, help him.

Legion was also looking for powerful undying godclads. This is something that became more difficult to do because the god of dreams was also looking for undying godclads.

Unlike them, the god of dreams couldn’t hide himself. The undying godclads were able to sense whenever his vessels or avatars were around.

The amount of danger that the undying godclads sensed scared them. So they decided to hide even better and change locations.

Even angels of undying went deeper into hiding. This made Legion’s hunt more difficult to complete.

Their hunt became more and more difficult the more intense the search for the god of dreams became. Once word got out that a powerful enemy was looking for undying godclads that were at the angel level, the undying godclads became even more difficult to find.

However, luck was on their side. They found someone they weren’t looking for all because the god of dreams was creating a mess.

The god of dreams was making things difficult for them, but he was also in the light, drawing all the attention to himself while they hid in secret, watching and waiting.

They would have preferred that the god of dreams not be making so much noise and making the undying godclads skittish, but since they couldn’t get what they wanted, they decided to take advantage of the unfortunate situation.

They used the virtual clones with the Mind Palace to help them search. What they were searching for wasn’t through sight or by location. Where they were searching was in the memories of people.

They created many virtual copies, which they used to scan the memories of everyone living in a city. Once they spotted someone suspicious in the memories, they would send virtual copies to check that person and identify their pathway.

Usually, old and ancient angels of the undying don’t show off their identities. They pretend to be normal people and constantly change their identities and places of habitation in order not to stand out.

These angels of undying have gotten the process down to a science after doing it so many times over many years. So it is very difficult to spot them.

They also have a shield that hides their aura and makes it nearly impossible to identify them by sight. This was why Legion used their virtual copies to search for them, not their eyes.
