Chapter 2490: Two Bad Options.

At the rate of killing 100 blood beasts per day, it will take her 274 years to kill 10 million of them. This is clearly a very long time.

He was willing to wait for nearly 300 years of time for her to become an angel of killing. But Legion suddenly appeared and threw his plans into disarray.

Legion is clearly not a good target to possess because they have a lot of spiritual energy and can outlast him in the struggle for their body if he tries to possess them. But Legion should have become vulnerable after becoming an angel of killing.

Legion should be fighting with their avatars now in the struggle to become a complete angel of killing. So if he decides to possess Legion now, Legion won’t be able to resist him because they have to resist the other clones.

This is something that is highly possible with the speed of growth of Legion and because of the fact that they don’t have his divine flesh in their existence anymore and can’t sense their progress.

There is also the increased risk of losing the struggle for possession and having his remnant soul crack and die forever if he decides to wait until Legion becomes complete before making the attempt to enslave them.

So he had a decision to make.

He asked himself, “Should I make the attempt now in order to eliminate the trouble or wait for my perfect vessel while hoping that something bad happens to this usurper?”

He didn’t know which option to choose, and it caused him no small amount of stress. The stress made him angry, which in turn led to the death of a lot of people.

He knew what he wanted. He wanted to wait for the second option to grow and become an angel of killing. But he knew that he couldn’t wait for nearly 300 years of time while a potential usurper roamed free.

300 years is enough time for a demigod of killing to become an angel of killing, but it is also enough for an incomplete angel of killing to not only become complete but also assimilate the Ocean of Blood and become a god.

He can’t just stand by and watch while hoping that Legion dies. That will be placing his future in the hands of fate, and fate has always been unkind to him.

But he also didn’t want to possess an incomplete angel of killing. This left him with only one choice, which is to eliminate Legion as soon as possible.

The next decision was how to go about eliminating the usurper. It would be the first time he would be trying to eliminate a potential vessel, and it pained him to waste such a good opportunity, but he gritted his teeth and decided to go through with it.

To be honest, he felt relieved that Legion would be eliminated. In fact, it can even be said that he felt a lot of pleasure at the thought of destroying the upstart that disrespected him by subduing his divine flesh.

The more he thought about how to kill Legion, the more excited he became. He quickly came up with ingenious ways to do the deed as painfully as possible for Legion.

He had a lot of ideas to use. Unfortunately, he couldn’t use all of them.

The one limit to his choices was that he couldn’t act against Legion himself. This was to prevent the wear and tear on his soul and to keep his state of existence hidden from his enemies.

This limit cut down on the ideas he could use, as he couldn’t go and kill Legion with his own power despite being powerful enough, and he couldn’t use some plans in order not to expose his existence.

As he was ruminating on this problem, he sensed a peculiar sensation. He felt as if he had become sleepy.

It was an odd sensation because he hasn’t slept for thousands of years. For more than 99% of his life, he hasn’t had a need to sleep. Yet, here he is with a divine fragment and still feeling sleepy.

He knew something was wrong immediately when he became sleepy. This made him forget about the new angel of killing threatening his position and made him focus on the source of the problem instead.

As he examined his state of existence and everything connected to him, he was able to trace the problem back to its source. What he discovered was that one of his divine flesh was the one making him sleepy.

It was actually two pieces of divine flesh. And these two pieces were in the same place in the spiritual dimension. This caused him to quickly deduce where the problem was coming from.

He immediately snapped his attention to his food vessel in the spiritual dimension. It was a good thing that he did because something of grave importance was happening in the spiritual dimension.

This matter of grave importance was caused by the god of dreams. It happened because the god of dreams was looking for Legion.

When the god of dreams decided to find Legion’s body, the first place that he went to was the spiritual dimension. This was, after all, the only place where a powerful killer is known to be.
