GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2476: Counterattacking.

Chapter 2476: Counterattacking.

The 6 demigods were at a disadvantage in this fight. They were outnumbered 2.5 to 1, so there was no way they could win the clash.

The right decision to make this time around was to withdraw from the battlefield. The 6 demigods decided to make this decision. But their enemies didn’t let them go.

Their enemies destroyed their Mind Plagues and traced the mental link back to their sources. Then they found the minds of the 6 demigod telepaths and began to attack it with their own Mind Plague divine ability.

Legion watched this happen with some faint amusement. Then they activated their Gestalt Mind divine ability.

The Gestalt divine ability is a divine ability that transforms the mind of someone else into that of the mind of the angel that used this divine ability. It is only the divine ability of telepaths that affects the third layer of the mind.

The third layer of the mind is the ego layer. It is the smallest part of the mind and also the solid part of the mind.

This third layer lies at the very bottom of the mind. Because it is solidified and because it uses the brain as its foundation, changing parts of it is nearly impossible.

Ego is the core of what a person considers to be their identity. It is the cornerstone of their identity. Even if the memories of someone are changed to make them believe that they are someone else, there will always be a dissonance because their ego hasn’t changed.

But the Gestalt Mind divine ability can change the ego. To be specific, it can change the ego of a target into that of Legion so that the target will come to believe without a doubt that they are Legion.

This is more terrifying than brainwashing because even the foundation of the mind has been changed, not just the memories. What is more terrifying is that the Gestalt Mind divine ability works well with the Mind Plague divine ability and even strengthens it.

The people who invaded the mind of the 6 demigod telepaths discovered the terrifying potential of this combination. But it was too late when they did.

They came to invade the minds of some demigod telepaths, but what they were doing was invading the mind of Legion. This was because those 6 demigods have already become part of their minds. This gave Legion the opportunity to use the Gestalt divine ability on them.

The Invisibility Shield divine ability was also used, so the invaders didn’t resist the influence of the divine ability at all. They watched in a daze as tendrils of mental energy came out of the minds of the 6 demigods and followed the mental link between them to enter minds.

If not for the fact that the 6 demigods have become a part of Legion now, what they were doing with the Gesalt divine ability wouldn’t have been hidden from the invaders.

Without the help of the Invisibility Shield divine ability, the invaders would have surely noticed the invasive tendrils trying to enter their minds and would have used the Mental Armament divine ability to defend their minds just like they had done to resist the attempts of the angel of telepathy to convert them.

Not only would Legion have failed, but their advancement to the rank of angel of telepathy would have also been exposed.

But thanks to the combination of the Gestalt Mind divine ability and the Invisibility Shield divine ability, the 6 invaders’ minds were quickly invaded. The tendrils of mental energy penetrated the first and second layers of their minds to reach the third layer.

Then their ego was modified into that of Legion, and their identity changed. This enlightened them to the fact that they are and have always been part of Legion. They didn’t know this before because they were ignorant.

Now that they have been enlightened, they have to do their best to further Legion’s agenda. Right now, that agenda is to storm the Mind Palace and take it over.

While this was going on, there were still nine demigods watching by the side and waiting for the outcome of the mental battle to be decided.

These nine demigods are part of the group of 15 demigods. Some of them didn’t think that the six that went to take advantage of Legion were going to succeed and gain anything.

After all, they would be attacking with only the Mind Plague divine ability, while the mind of the person they were invading would have access to all of their divine abilities.

This wouldn’t be the first time that someone was defeated in the Mind Palace, and it wouldn’t be the first time that the minds of the defeated were attacked. Nothing rarely came out of the invasion, which was why the defeated could always return to join the fight in the future.

This problem was one of the reasons why ownership of the Mind Palace hadn’t been decided after so long. So these nine demigods were expecting the six to return without something to show for their efforts.

The 9 of them were a little surprised when the 6 returned a few seconds after they were to invade the minds of the defeated. They were surprised because the battle seemed to have ended earlier than normal.

They were expecting the fight to drag on for a while before the outcome of a stalemate was decided. But it seemed that the fight ended in just a few seconds.

Not only did their 6 partners return earlier than normal, but also the 6 that were defeated earlier also returned immediately. Then the 12 of them began to attack the 9 that were waiting around for the outcome.

This turn of events was surprising. But things became even more bewildering when the first angel of telepathy suddenly appeared and joined the fight against the 12 demigod telepaths.

Legion decided not to hide anymore. They too entered the Mind Palace and joined the battle.
