Chapter 2367: Resolved Not To Act.

The legendary noble thought extensively about the possible enemies that might be working together to besiege his beloved city. What he thought of was not encouraging.

He couldn’t what was going on exactly. The only thing he could say was, “If the undying godclad is the one and only enemy, I won’t be surprised.”

“In that case, the undying godclad must be trying to tire me out because there is nothing they can do against me. They can only take a beating.”

He is hoping that the enemy will be the undying godclad in the energy spring because this whole thing will be easier for him to handle that way.

The competition between survival and achieving one’s goal in a fight between legends is a dance. One wrong move and one can fall and be trampled on. So one must be cautious.

This need for caution is why the legends of the city didn’t come out to defeat the beasts when they first breached the wall and watched so many people get killed by the vine plants.

It wasn’t until the vine plants began to overextend their reach that the nobles reacted. The nobles were cautious because the line between victory and defeat or legends is very thin.

They were right to be cautious, as was proven when the first two legends who appeared to make a move ran mad and had to be put down.

This was a recent event, so the legendary noble has a lot of reasons to be cautious. The only reason he won’t have to be cautious is if the enemy is the undying godclad.

Undying godclads are difficult to kill. That much is common sense. But it is also common sense that undying godclads are harmless.

Undying godclads are harmless because they don’t have a single means for attacking. They are turtles that only know how to preserve their lives.

So if the enemy turned out to be the undying godclad, he will have very little to be scared of. He will be able to capture the undying legend and force them to pay reparations for the energy spring or even help it recover.

It will be a good thing if the enemy is the undying godclad. But until he is sure of the identity of the enemy, he will remain cautious and will try not to make any move.

Legion sensed this resolve when they saw through their slaves outside the barrier that the legend had refused to make a move. They too sneered and decided to up the ante.

The legendary noble had guessed that they were trying to slowly cook him. He was right about that completely.

Legion-1 sneered and said, “Let’s see how long you can last. If you’re so great, then stand by and do nothing for as long as possible. Let me see the extent of your patience.”

Then they had their slaves begin to attack the noble families in the inner city. They also released the plagues and curses that they had prepared.

The city that had just calmed down became chaotic again. The avatar of the angel of killing, who was watching this, was laughing and clapping in excitement.

He said, “Bravo, bravo. He must be trying to meet one of the advancement requirement for the legendary rank of killing. What a greedy fellow.”

After clapping and laughing for a while. He sighed and said, “This reminds me of that time I slaughtered everyone in the forest in order to advance. Those were the good old days.”

He could already guess what the killer in the energy spring was doing because he had done something similar before.

What he had done was a little different from what was currently going on. For one, there was no one to stop his rampage in the forest, while there were many people to stop the killing here, so he was curious to see how it would turn out.

He shook his head and said, “Things are not so simple. I bet that this guy can kill the whole city and might even be able to completely fulfill his advancement requirement right under his enemy’s nose.”

“The legends won’t act to stop him until it is too late. They are just too cautious for their own good.”

“This undying might even be able to advance to the legendary rank of killing soon after advancing to the legendary rank of the pathway of undying. He can even advance under that barrier without coming out. How epic would that be?”

He laughed off his wild imagination and said, “It is a pity that can’t be his goal at all. After all, he just survived one advancement. It would be suicidal to attempt another one so soon.”

“He should just be trying to create an opportunity to escape and maybe achieve an advancement requirement along the way. I should help him a little.”

He chuckled and said, “This will be very interesting to watch.”

He had guessed some of Legion’s goals, but he doesn’t think that Legion will try to become a legendary killer now. In fact, he doesn’t think that Legion will survive the process at all.

He doesn’t think that Legion has mastered all six divine abilities of the pathway of undying to 50% as well as the six divine abilities of the pathway of killing in just 200 years of life span.

Even if Legion has done this, he still doesn’t think that Legion will survive the process, especially not after just surviving a recent advancement to the legendary realm. It is something that he is willing to bet on.

Be that as it may, he found the whole thing interesting because the fight looks like a game between Legion and the nobles.

The interesting part is that the nobles have the power to stop Legion from fulfilling the advancement requirements of killing 1,000,000 people right now. But the nobles won’t stop him because they are too afraid to take action.
