GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2217 - 2217: Traceless Transaction.

The way that Legion-10 looked at this world changed after seeing so much of it. He felt as if he was standing on a minefield. It was a different behavior from everyone else.

Everyone else was either drinking or eating. They didn’t appear to care about the origins of this world or its possible controlled state. But they didn’t let the behavior of everyone else affect them.

They couldn’t feel weird because everyone else felt that there was nothing wrong. In their opinion, the fact that the majority believed in something doesn’t make it right. Especially if the majority is a bunch of mortals who know nothing of world gods and creators of universes.

While he was thinking to himself, the amount of energy water that he needed became enough. He signaled to the trading platform that he was ready to complete the deal.

He didn’t need to stand up and return to the wall to do this. Because he had touched the wall before and has continued to maintain the mental connection to the trading platforms, he can use the trading platform without touching it again.

Space doesn’t work the same in the Mindscape. All that matters here is the power of the mind and its connection to this world.

So as long as he maintains a mental connection with the trading platform, he doesn’t need to have a virtual body in this world for him to initiate and complete a transaction.

He doesn’t need to, but he stayed back to see if he could glean anything about this world by watching how an exchange of goods is done.

But no matter how he looked, he didn’t see anything going on in the virtual world. It was just like how no one saw how he received energy water and how no one noticed that he was in possession of energy water.

Everything that was happening was happening in the background. First of all, after informing the trading platform about his interest in completing the transaction, the energy water within him entered the trading platform through the connection he had with it.

No one noticed the transfer of 120 liters of energy water. The transfer was also instantaneous. One moment it was within Legion-10, and the next, it was in the trading platform.

The only change was that some spiritual energy was consumed from Legion. Aside from that, it might as well have been an illusion that he once possessed energy water large enough to need three kegs of 50 liters each to contain.

After the trading platform took his energy water, the legend who set up the trading platform took 5% of it and sent the divine flesh that he had received from the seller to Legion-10.

Legion-10 didn’t see any of these happen, of course. All he noticed was that divine flesh had appeared within him.

This divine flesh was white. It looked like silver except that it was soft and malleable like rubber. These features helped Legion-10 identify it as the rank 4 divine flesh of the pathway of the telepath.

He didn’t say anything. Not that there was anyone to speak to. The transaction was done just like that, and he didn’t even know who the seller was. He liked that very much.

So Legion-10 thought to himself with a smile, “I am very satisfied.”

He and the other clone suspect a lot about this virtual world. But as long as they can continue to easily grow stronger, they won’t complain about anything.

This is a temporary truce of peace, of course. When they are strong enough, they will revisit this decision, and odds are that they will choose to kick up a lot of fuss.

They don’t need any justification to covet more power. But there is a good reason here for them to interfere with whatever is going on. That reason is to prevent someone capable of blocking their path to power from rising in the pathway.

They are not like stupid mortals. They don’t put their hopes in others, and they don’t believe that the appearance of a true god in the pathway will be a good thing for the rest of them.

Legion-10 looked around one last time and thought to himself, “Who knows. They might have all been brainwashed through the food and drinks that they enjoy here.”

“They are telepaths, and powerful ones at that. If we can brainwash someone with a rank 3 divine ability, it should be expected that Legends will have a better way to do it.”

After thinking of this, he left the virtual world. His ghostly figure turned into a phantom and eventually dissipated.

He left quietly, but he and Legion had made up their minds to make a lot of noise in the virtual world in the future.

At the end of the day, they might not get the authority of the pathway; they will make sure that whoever gets it will not have it easy.

Even though Legion-10 left, his mental connection with the trading platform was still maintained. So it was easy for him to find another seller and initiate a transaction with them.

This time, the item they wanted to buy was the rank 4 divine flesh of the pathway of slavery. After Legion assimilated the rank 4 divine flesh of the pathway of the telepath and were sure that it was fine, they went ahead to acquire the last piece of divine flesh that they needed.

The acquisition of the rank 4 divine flesh of the pathway of slavery was successful at the cost of 150 liters of energy water. Its assimilation was also successful.

The process of assimilating the extra two rank 4 divine flesh was more painful and took more than double the time it took to assimilate the first two, but the power they gained was well worth it.

After assimilating the four rank 4 divine flesh, they instructed their three hammers to issue a recruitment notice to expand the manpower of the gang in preparation for the expansion of their territory.
