Chapter 899: Jin Hai, Dead

Jin Hai nodded, remaining silent.

His gaze remained fixed on Ling Feng the entire time.

Ling Feng was carrying a small bag in his hand.

Judging by that bag, it seemed what he said was true, that he really had come here to swim.

After exchanging a few words with Jin Hai, Ling Feng headed to the changing area on the first floor.

Five minutes later.

Ling Feng reappeared, no longer in his usual casual clothes, but wearing only a pair of black swimming trunks.

Along with goggles perched on his head.

Since Ling Feng wore nothing but a pair of black swimming trunks, Jin Hai, standing over by the swimming pool, could clearly see Ling Feng's physique.

Ling Feng had a great body. For a man, eight-pack abs were something many men would dream of having.

Staring intensely at Ling Feng's perfect physique, a jealous rage burned deep within Jin Hai's eyes.

Every time he saw a man like this, someone with a normal body and a great figure.

It reminded him of his own body, one that would never grow.

Comparing the two, he felt deeply uncomfortable inside.

Ling Feng put on his goggles and got into the water to start swimming.

His swimming technique was elegant.

If there were any women around, they would easily be drawn to him.

After swimming a few laps back and forth, he made his way over to where Jin Hai was and asked with a smile, "Little buddy, aren't you coming in for a swim?"

Jin Hai shook his head. "I don't know how to swim."

Ling Feng smiled. "I can teach you."

"Swimming is good for the body."

"Especially for a kid your age."

"It helps you develop faster, grow better."

"It also exercises your body, improves heart and lung function, and so on. There are plenty of benefits."

After rattling off a whole list, seeing that Jin Hai showed no intention of getting in the water.

Ling Feng went off to swim on his own.

Jin Hai remained standing where he was, sneering inwardly, "Good for a kid my age to develop? Even if I swam all the way from here to America, my body still wouldn't grow."

Jin Hai sighed and turned to leave.

But then, something he never expected happened.

That man named Ling Feng happened to swim back over to his side again.

After reaching his side, he didn't turn back like he had before.

Instead, he suddenly lunged onto the shore like a big white fish.

That lunge was like a crocodile snapping its jaws shut on its prey.

In that instant, Ling Feng's right hand grabbed hold of Jin Hai's right foot.

With a startled yelp from Jin Hai, he was dragged straight into the swimming pool.

"Little buddy, I'll teach you how to swim."

Ling Feng pressed Jin Hai down with one hand, his mouth saying he was teaching him to swim, but in reality, he was furiously forcing him underwater.

Although Jin Hai was 38 years old, his body was that of a 10-year-old.

And more importantly, he genuinely didn't know how to swim. How could he possibly overpower Ling Feng in the water?

So as he struggled desperately, flailing his arms and legs, all he managed to do was churn up a big splash of water in the pool.

His body was pinned firmly underwater by Ling Feng, and soon the splashing grew weaker and weaker, until Jin Hai gradually stopped moving altogether in the water.

There had been some bubbles gurgling up at first, but in the end, even those disappeared.

"What a pity. I'm not very good at teaching. In the end, I still couldn't teach you how to swim, little buddy!"

Ling Feng withdrew his smile and reverted to that calm, placid expression as usual.

After drowning Jin Hai alive, he simply dumped his corpse in the swimming pool and climbed out himself.

Once out, he cast only a brief glance at Jin Hai's body floating in the pool, then turned and headed for the changing room on the first floor to get dressed and leave the place.

The reason Ling Feng killed Jin Hai was simple.

Because he knew Jin Hai was a lab rat, and killing him would earn him privilege.

That was all there was to it.

As for Jin Hai's actual age of 38, Ling Feng had no idea.

He had always believed Jin Hai was just a 10-year-old kid, and even so, for someone to lay a hand on a 10-year-old boy he believed to be a child, it was proof enough that this guy was no soft-hearted soul.

His psychological cruelty and ruthlessness far surpassed that of ordinary deranged criminals and deranged serial killers.

As for Jin Hai.

His name contained the character for "sea," tying him to water, and yet he never expected to die in a swimming pool.

One could say it was ironic, and that wouldn't be wrong.

Of course, he probably never imagined he would die so unceremoniously. Not caught by Zhang Yao and the others, having something terrible happen to him.

Instead, he died hastily at the hands of someone he had just met.

In the live stream room.

The number of viewers was not particularly high right now. Probably many people watching were busy with other things, so the live stream room only had a little over 70,000 viewers at the moment.

Those 70,000-plus people also witnessed Jin Hai's death in its entirety.

None of them could have imagined that Ling Feng would make his move so decisively.

He hadn't shown the slightest hint of murderous intent toward Jin Hai, and then suddenly launched a sneak attack.

Just like certain dogs.

They don't bark, they don't bare their teeth and snarl, they just quietly creep up on you, then suddenly bite you out of nowhere.

Then run off after the bite.

Evil Wolf: [Interesting. This Ling Feng guy.]

Little Aunt: [Pretty terrifying. Honestly, people like this are the hardest to guard against. Not a single sign of what they're about to do.]

Evil Wolf: [Yeah.]

Little Aunt: [Sometimes, after watching this stream so much, when I go out and see someone, I can't help but be extra cautious, afraid they might be some psychological freak who's got their eye on me.]

Evil Wolf: [Hahahahaha... That's way too exaggerated. How many freaks can there really be in this world?]

Fairy Sister: [Actually, in this world, a lot of people are psychological freaks, just to varying degrees. Did you see that video online earlier, the one where someone almost pushed a monkey that was eating off a ten-thousand-meter cliff?

Tell me, would a normal person do something like taking a life like that? Even if the other party was just a monkey.]

Evil Wolf: [Alright, fine. Actually, everyone is hiding something, just never getting the chance to unleash the evil in their hearts.]

[After all, humans are born with an innate nature toward evil.]

Round 33. Jin Hai was dead.

Only three lab rats remained now.

Jiang Ran, Huang Kaiyu, and Yang Qi.

The live stream continued, and although there were still several days left in the broadcast.

Its watchability had already taken a major hit. There wasn't much left to it.

Because, not to mention Jiang Ran, that man who never falls over.

Take Huang Kaiyu and Yang Qi, especially Yang Qi. He was already starting to give off the same feeling as Fang Xiao from back then.

And the one thing he had over Fang Xiao was that he wasn't a hopeless drunk.

Although Yang Qi had his own bad habit, being a night owl, the king of staying up all night.

Jin Hai's body was discovered seven or eight hours later.

Another resident went to the pool for a swim and found it.

He had been happily heading over for a swim, changed into his swimsuit, and walked to the edge of the pool, just about to get in.

Then he suddenly noticed.

A child floating on the surface of the water.

At first, he thought the kid had come to swim too, but after staring for a while, he saw that the kid wasn't moving at all.

Besides, the water in a swimming pool wasn't like a river or a lake outside. It wasn't flowing water.

The water in the pool was stagnant, and since this was indoors.

There was no wind either, so on the perfectly calm surface of the pool, the child's corpse floated there, completely still.

Face down.

This resident was pretty bold.

Of course, anyone who could get in here was bold. Bold enough to kill.

He walked over to the edge of the pool. Called out a few times, but didn't get in the water. Figuring the person was already dead, he called the building manager to report it.
