Chapter 474: Chapter 334: Yin Jiu and Qin Zhen, the Moonless Night
The Sun Family Tower, top-floor office.
The atmosphere in the vast, almost extravagant space was heavy and oppressive.
This wasn’t just due to the grim-faced Sun Fusheng, but also because of the two men sitting across from him.
One of the men was burly, his features resolute. Even seated, he exuded an aura of indestructibility, like a stone tempered by heavenly lightning.
He was none other than Qin Zhen, the master of the Earthquake Prison Martial Arts Hall and a renowned Divine Sight Realm martial arts expert in Qing Province.
Next to him sat a man dressed in a black robe.
The man’s face was as pale as paper, his lips as red as blood. Combined with his dead-fish eyes, he looked just like a paper doll. Even in broad daylight, his appearance was chilling.
Yin Jiu!
He was one of the most distinguished Magic-users in Qing Province, unrecruited by any of the major families.
A solid fifth-level Cultivation.
That was secondary. The crucial part was his specialization in extremely sinister Magic, specifically hexes and curses.
This type of Magic was formless and intangible. Once afflicted, it was as difficult to remove as maggots burrowing into bone. What made it worse was the sheer variety of his hexing techniques, making them impossible to guard against. For this reason, it was known as the most troublesome form of Magic.
Furthermore, Yin Jiu was known to be sinister, vicious, and vengeful. No one would dare provoke him unless they had absolutely no other choice.
Over time, he had earned the nickname Old Ghost Yin.
And today, unexpectedly, he was here.
"Gentlemen!" Sun Fusheng spoke, his voice extremely hoarse and full of exhaustion.
The recent events had left him utterly exhausted; both his mental and physical stamina had reached their limits.
’Thankfully, all of this is about to end!’
He sat up straight, his gaze sweeping over the faces of Qin Zhen and Yin Jiu.
"I’ve invited you two here, and I’m sure you both understand why. This Wu Liangchen..." Sun Fusheng paused, a look of grim determination flashing in his eyes.
"He must die!"
Yin Jiu said nothing, merely cackling a few times, his face etched with disdain.
His laughter was grating, almost like the wail of a ghost. The sound made Qin Zhen, seated beside him, frown slightly. He said nothing to Yin Jiu, however, and instead addressed Sun Fusheng.
"Patriarch Sun, based on our intelligence, this young man managed to achieve Opening Veins on his own at a young age. His talent is nothing short of extraordinary. Now that he’s a level-four Magic-user, he’s even more formidable. He is by no means an easy opponent."
Before Sun Fusheng could speak, Yin Jiu finally spoke up.
"Qin, it seems your years of living in luxury have made you timid. He’s nothing but a snot-nosed brat. So what if he has a little power? Does he really think he can overturn the heavens?"
Yin Jiu’s tone was filled with contempt; he clearly didn’t think much of this Wu Liangchen.
And he certainly had the right to be arrogant.
After all, there was an insurmountable gap in power between a level-five and a level-four Magic-user.
In addition, Yin Jiu had been honing his skills in this realm for many years, with an endless arsenal of strange techniques. He felt that crushing this Wu Liangchen would be no different from crushing an ant.
Qin Zhen raised an eyebrow slightly, then gave Yin Jiu a deep look.
"Old Ghost Yin, this isn’t a matter of being timid or not. This young man really has some skill. It never hurts to be careful."
"That’s enough, you two!" Sun Fusheng promptly stopped their argument, then said with a solemn expression.
"Regardless, as long as you can execute this fiend, the reward will definitely satisfy both of you. Moreover, whoever kills Wu Liangchen, I am willing to add an extra fifty million in resources."
Fifty million!
Even for men like Qin Zhen and Yin Jiu, that number was enough to make their breath catch.
Then, Yin Jiu stuck out his tongue, licked his lips, and chuckled sinisterly. "Patriarch Sun, rest assured. I’ve always made a living by taking money to eliminate people’s problems. Since this Wu Liangchen has repeatedly made an enemy of the Sun family, I’ll make him understand just how miserable the consequences are for offending a prominent family."
Qin Zhen frowned but didn’t say much more. He simply nodded. "Patriarch Sun, rest assured. Since I am here, I will naturally do my best."
Only then did Sun Fusheng let out a slight sigh of relief. "Good, then I’ll be counting on you two!"
Soon, news of Wu Liangchen’s impending attack on the Sun Family Tower spread like wildfire online.
All sorts of media outlets, relevant or not, began scrambling to report on the matter.
After all, this was the kind of explosive news that only came around once in several decades.
All kinds of speculation and analysis were rampant.
Some believed Wu Liangchen was simply throwing an egg against a stone—courting death.
After all, no matter how strong he was personally, he couldn’t possibly be a match for a prominent family that had been operating for a hundred years.
Of course, a small portion of these people were simply gloating over his misfortune, but many more felt it was a pity.
This was because Wu Liangchen’s recent actions had earned him considerable popularity online. Even people who weren’t his fans still had a favorable impression of him.
In other words, he had great public appeal.
"I hope Mr. Wu sees this message. The Sun family has invited experts from all over Qing Province, and the tower is heavily guarded. Please don’t act on a moment of bravery and walk right into a trap!"
Messages like this appeared in the comment sections under major news websites.
Seeing this, Lin Wei couldn’t help but feel a warmth in her heart as she skillfully liked and commented on them.
During this time, aside from staking out the coffee shop across from the tower, Lin Wei’s most important job was to monitor the comment sections of major media outlets, keeping track of online public opinion.
And whenever she saw a comment that was favorable to Wu Liangchen, Lin Wei would be overjoyed.
