Chapter 1688: Hidden Hall

Chapter 1688: Hidden Hall

From MC’s Perspective

I saw that the dark root vine monster was clearing out the sand blocking the path. Then, I turned towards Patrick and told him to clear out the sand path as well.

Swoosh!

The next second, Patrick used his magic spell. A long red and green vine shot towards the sand.

Boom!

The vine entered the sand and started drilling it as well. Now, both vines were working at top speed.

Otto was using magic to observe the surroundings. Hank had started using magic to survey the place. If there were secret rooms, they could be found.

A hint of relief flashed in my eyes.

Everyone’s magic was working in synchronization. I guessed I had subdued a good team. Hank had more interest in this ruin.

If he got a breakthrough opportunity, it would be best. Then, my team members would all be Supreme Wizards.

Time went by.

The narrow path became wider after the sand removal. My eyes flashed with a brilliant idea.

Then I told the Vine Monster to block the entry. Hearing that, the others were shocked. I told them that I didn’t want the city guards to follow us from behind.

Swoosh!

The next second, the vine monster rotated its long, extending body parts. The sand was blown off.

It all fell in front of the entrance. In the blink of an eye, the entrance was blocked, leaving behind only small holes.

The light inside the path was reduced. Hank and the others used their gadgets to illuminate the path.

Time went by.

We came across a door a few minutes later. I used the system function to check. There was no danger.

Boom!

I ordered the Vine monster. The vine monster struck the door. The door was blasted into pieces. The next second, I saw an empty hall inside.

Hank shone his gadget. The bright light illuminated the place. The floor was covered in dust.

Then, we entered the building. Hank’s gaze fell on the statues. There were five human statues. They immediately attracted everyone’s attention.

Then I walked up to the statue and stood in front of it.

My gaze fell on the faces of those statues. There were three male and two female statues. Especially the male in the middle.

The male statue appeared to be wearing a mage robe. The other four statues were all lifelike.

It appeared that the person who made the statues based them on real life figures. I didn’t know who all these people were.

Then I saw the others were exploring the place. The vine monster entangled the pillar. Hank was checking the floor.

Patrick and Otto were checking the walls. They wanted to see whether any hidden rooms were present or not.

I could use the system function to check the place. But if I did that, then what was the use of them? This ruin was a good place to test their magic powers.

Otto used a magic spell. Concentric circles appeared in front of him. The next second, the magic power struck the walls.

It was not a destructive spell. Instead, it was an inspection spell. If there was anything hidden behind the wall, he would know.

Only Patrick stopped using his magic spell. His magic was not useful for inspection and search. So, he stood behind Master Vincent to protect him.

The Vine Monster was still entangled around the pillar.

As time passed, I continued to watch Otto and Hank. They were continuing the search.

A few minutes later,

“I found something,” Hank shouted.

Hearing that, everyone turned towards Hank. Hank was kneeling in front of the 10ft statue. The 10ft statue was a middle aged man in a magic robe.

Hank found a secret compartment hidden underneath the floor. It took him so long because it was buried 10ft deep in the ground.

“10ft statue. It was buried 10ft in the ground,” Hank muttered.

Hearing that, the others understood the situation.

“Master, there is treasure buried 10ft in the ground,” Hank said.

I nodded to him and ordered the vine monster to dig it up. The vine monster was entangled around the pillar.

Suddenly, it moved from the pillar and shot towards the ground. It destroyed the floor and went deep inside.

“I didn’t find anything on the walls,” Otto said.

Hearing that, I furrowed my eyebrows. The ruin must be big. It was impossible for the ruin to end in this hall.

Before figuring it out, my attention fell on the ground below. The vine monster reached 10ft into the ground and found a storage box buried there.

The vine parts wrapped around the box gently, and it moved upwards.

In a flash, it brought the storage box in front of everyone and placed it before the master.

“Let me check it,” I said to them.

“Master, it could be dangerous. Let us check it first,” Otto said.

“No,” I replied before using the system function.

[Ding! Warning!]

[Ding! A rare earth stone was detected. But poisonous stones were detected around it. Remove the poisonous stones to use the earth stone.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. My eyes narrowed.

“There is an earth stone placed among poisonous stones inside. Drink the potions first,” I said to them.

Gasp!

They exclaimed in surprise. They didn’t know what was hidden inside the storage box. But Master Vincent was able to know it without opening the storage box.

Then they took the potions out and consumed them. I consumed the potion as well. I decided to hide the vine monster inside the Gregor Mansion.

We didn’t know how potent the poison was.

A few minutes later,

I put the vine monster inside the Gregor Mansion. The potion had taken effect. I confirmed it with the system.

Then I opened the storage box. The next second, a green mist shot towards us.

[Ding! Warning!]

[The poison is dangerous. The host has consumed the potion; it won’t affect the host.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. The green mist went through everyone’s body. At first, it was uncomfortable as the poison entered the body.

But because of the antidote, the poison couldn’t take effect.
