Chapter 1634: Auction day!
Chapter 1634: Auction day!
From MC’s Perspective
The Mana Core Evil Artifact successfully took control of the mana core and started absorbing it.
“AAahhhhh!”
The old man let out a scream. The black book appeared out of his chest. It tried to break away from the old man, but it wasn’t able to flee.
My heart skipped a beat. It was the first time I had faced this type of situation. The magic book was acting independently, as if it had consciousness.
“Aaahhhh!”
The old man continued to scream. This place was located on a narrow street. No one would hear the scream.
But I didn’t want to take any chances. I will kill him before anyone comes here.
The Mana Core Evil Artifact continued to consume the mana core. In the blink of an eye, the mana core’s size began to reduce.
A few minutes later,
The whole mana core was consumed. The Mirror Artifact retracted the black tentacles. The next second, I collected the Mirror Artifact into the system space.
Then my gaze fell on the black book. The black book had lost its power. Now, it was starting to turn gray. In the blink of an eye, the book turned to ashes.
“The sound came from this street.”
I heard a voice from outside. I quickly moved toward the old man’s corpse and brought it inside the Gregor Mansion.
Then I put the corpse back into the system space. After doing that, I appeared before the control mirror and saw a few people walk into the room.
They searched the room but found nothing. Then they left the house. I raised my eyebrows.
I had wasted time unnecessarily. In a few hours, it would be early morning. Then I could attend the auction.
I collected my thoughts and went to the bedroom to sleep.
Time passed.
That morning, I left the old run-down house and the narrow street. Last night was an unforgettable experience.
It was a pity that I couldn’t use him. The black book was so evil that I had to kill him. I collected my thoughts and started heading toward the auction.
I was wearing a new navy suit and overcoat. I was also wearing a mask. I didn’t know what was going to happen today.
I had asked for help. Lord Charlotte told me someone would come to help, but I had yet to see that person.
A few minutes later,
I got closer to the City Auction House. While walking, I came across many people. I even sensed pressure greater than that of Supreme Wizards.
“Magic Lords,” I said in my heart.
Then I started using the system to clear my doubts. The system results showed that they were indeed Magic Lords.
My heart started to race. As I guessed, many big figures had come. But there was no sign of the Forbidden Wizards.
I knew the Elder behind Young Master Hale Sutton was a powerful wizard. I didn’t know whether these Magic Lords could confront him.
A hint of expectation flashed in my eyes. “I’m hoping the rumors about the outer space auction items were true,” I uttered.
Soon, I arrived at the auction building.
There was a huge line in front of the building. People with tickets were allowed to enter one by one. I stood in the line and started observing the people around me.
There were more than a hundred people here. Most of them were Level-8 and Level-9 Wizards. There were a couple of Supreme Wizards.
There were Magic Lords here and there. I continued to wait. Suddenly, I saw a familiar person again. The Black Tower Wizard, Rowan, showed his ticket and walked into the building.
Seeing that, I shook my head. I had thought Black Tower Wizards were cunning. But this person turned out to be an exception. He was being fooled by an allied family.
Meanwhile
Inside the City Lord’s Office, Elder Abel was seated at the main seat. Young Master Hale and Guardian Marvin stood before him.
The City Lord was in the Auction House right now.
Elder Abel looked at Hale and asked, “Are you ready?”
“Quite a few Magic Lords have come. The fight is going to be unavoidable,” he added.
Hearing that, Hale nodded his head and said, “Elder, as long as the Magic Lords are killed, the plan will be successful. I will raise the power of my magic.”
“Let’s just hope the Forbidden Wizards won’t come. Even if one Forbidden Wizard comes, we have to act carefully,” Abel said.
Then he took out a silver and gray ore.
“Take this and go to the auction. If the Magic Lords cause a problem, you can show it. Then they will be silent,” he said.
Hale stood up and accepted the ore. His heart was racing. He was receiving an Unranked Treasure. According to the plan, both his magic talent and this Unranked Treasure were important.
He couldn’t afford to lose it.
“Elder, what about you?” Hale asked.
“I’ll come right before the end of the auction,” Abel said.
Hearing that, Hale nodded and decided to leave. Guardian Marvin then asked for permission before leaving.
When they were gone, Elder Abel’s old eyes flickered. His heart was restless. He felt that something was not right.
But he couldn’t make an independent decision. It was a decision made by the Family Elders. The family had decided to take such a risk.
Young Master Hale was the only legitimate heir of the Sutton Family. His talent was weak. He would reach the Supreme Wizard, but that was it.
He wouldn’t become a Magic Lord, let alone a Forbidden Wizard. But if he didn’t become one, the family would become weak centuries later.
Then their position in the Mage Union would be questioned. Similarly, their influence in the Black Tower would be reduced.
So they had to take a risk for the future. Even if a Forbidden Wizard came to intervene, he decided to use his life to provide a chance to Young Master Hale.
If Young Master Hale heard this, he would be shocked to the core. His plan had to succeed. Otherwise, he and his family would face terrible consequences.
