I returned to the class to attend the lectures.

Meanwhile,

Paul Lin contacted Head Howard and told him everything, including Vincent Carey’s accusations. After hearing that, Howard immediately summoned him to his office.

Not only that, Howard summoned Elder Stella as well.

About 10 minutes later,

Head Howard Mason was in his cabin. In front of him, Elder Paul Lin and Stella were present. Paul Lin had just briefed him on everything.

“Where is the locket?” Howard asked.

Hearing that, Paul Lin gave him the black locket. Inside the locket, there was a thin piece of cloth.

Stella’s eyes filled with surprise. She had just heard the briefing as well. She didn’t expect that kid’s luck would be too good.

Howard opened the black locket and took the thin piece of cloth in his hands to examine it. Howard saw the layout of the pinewood forest as well. It was drawn using black ink.

He could confirm it too. The layout was the same as the Pinewood Forest near the Anderson Family Territory. His eyes flashed with surprise.

“That kid has easily solved the centuries old mystery,” Howard commented.

“Elder Stella, what do you think?” he asked while handing the black locket and thin piece of cloth to her for examination.

Stella received it before starting to examine it with her own eyes. She is the Head of the Intelligence Tower. She knows almost every important place in the Ancient Redwood Country, including the forbidden places forgotten by people.

She immediately recognized the triangular pinewood forest. It’s the same as the forbidden pinewood forest near the Anderson Family Territory.

She then looked at the black locket. It’s a necklace worn by female wizards. She thinks it might be an heirloom as well. Then she looked at Paul Lin before turning toward Head Howard.

“Head, I think it’s a necklace worn by an ancient female wizard. If Vincent Carey felt the response to his gravity magic, then this ancient female wizard was likely to be a Gravity Wizard as well,” she said.

“I think the same as well. It could either belong to a wizard family or some kind of organization,” Howard said.

Then he noticed the reaction of Elder Paul Lin. Paul Lin seemed to be thinking about something else.

“Elder Paul, what’s going on?” Howard asked.

“Head, I’m thinking about the person who is targeting Vincent Carey,” Paul Lin said.

Howard’s smile disappeared.

He asked, “Do you really believe that?”

Because he thought other Department Wizards were targeting Vincent Carey. It was not serious, as conflicts between Department Wizards are common.

But no one dared to break the law by releasing magic spell inside the campus.

He then turned toward Elder Stella.

“Elder Stella, what do you think?” Howard asked.

Stella furrowed her eyebrows. She had heard the accusations as well.

“That kid is not an alarmist. If he feels someone is genuinely targeting him, then we should look into it. I think it’s also time for the people from the Aristocratic Faction to take action,” Stella replied.

Howard’s eyes flickered.

“If that’s the case, then you should follow him to see who’s causing trouble. I’ll look into the Pinewood Forest as well,” Howard said.

Then they spoke about a few other topics before leaving the place.

Time passed,

When all the lectures were over, I went to the Mana Chamber to practice. After a few hours, when it was time for me to leave, I remained seated and called out the status panel.

After going through the status panel, I dismissed the panel. Then I stood up to leave.

When I was ready to leave the Special Mage Department, I found Elder Paul Lin coming toward me.

“I spoke to Head Howard about the pinewood forest. He was shocked as well. He has decided to explore the place by himself,” Paul Lin said.

Hearing that, I was genuinely surprised. I knew Head Howard had promised me that, but still, that place was dangerous. To think he was ready to explore it made me unsure of what to say.

Then I thought about Charon Perry and his senior brother. My expression turned solemn again.

“Elder, what about the attacker?” I asked.

“Well, I told him about it as well. He didn’t believe it at first. Then Elder Stella told him that there is a possibility for the Aristocratic Faction to take action.”

“Then Head Howard told me to keep an eye on you,” Paul Lin replied.

“Glad to hear that,” I replied.

Then Elder Paul told me that he would follow me in secret. So I decided to leave. I walked out of the Special Mage Department and started heading back to the dorm building.
