“Are you sure this will work?”

“No problem!”

Mars swam across the surface of the sea like a squid. The sight was unbearable to look at. He looked like some kind of squid monster, complete with one large pincer.

He was getting used to his new body. After expressing his gratitude, he began to say goodbye to Yang Yi, preparing to reclaim his ship.

And his chosen means of transportation was... himself.

“Are you sure you don’t want some dried fish?”

Yang Yi held the unfinished Needlefin Pipefish from earlier and ate it as he asked.

“No need. I can just dive into the water and catch some myself!” Mars politely declined.

He would have to swim a long distance through the sea. Carrying food with him would be inconvenient, so he might as well catch something fresh and eat it in the water.

“Okay, then go ahead.” Yang Yi nodded.

“Alright. Thank you, One-Eyed Boss. Once I take my ship back and have some money, I’ll contact you immediately!”

Mars replied before sinking beneath the sea and disappearing without a trace.

Yang Yi switched to the fleet interface.

The One-Eyed Fleet (Official) had not changed since its creation, but today, two members had been added: Vice-Captain Suna and Team Leader Tricia.

The coordinates of all the fleet members could be displayed on the fleet map. The map’s origin point had been set to their current location.

Therefore, Mars could be seen on the map moving toward the side of the Nightmare Star at an astonishing speed, traveling at approximately 50 knots—faster than ordinary magic ships.

And this was not even Mars’s full speed. Once he became more accustomed to his body and learned how to swim properly, he might become even faster.

Looking at it this way, as long as humans were willing to step outside the boundaries of what it meant to be human, many problems would become much easier to solve.

Yang Yi glanced at the chat history. Mars had left the coordinates of his ship there. According to those coordinates, it was roughly fifty days of sailing away, and it was still slowly moving.

Mars would have to retrieve his own ship himself. Yang Yi had no intention of changing course.

If he eventually found the headquarters of the Spider-Limb Cult, then Yang Yi might head there and explore it.

The exact coordinates could be transmitted after 11 p.m., when World Chat opened.

After all, the function that displayed the locations of fleet members only worked within 10,000 nautical miles. Beyond that distance, their locations would no longer be displayed.

..............

The voyage continued.

As planned, the Nightmare Star continued heading toward the location of Cook Island. It was expected to arrive in thirteen days. At that time, they might still need to use the lookout tower to determine its exact location.

Over the past two days, apart from exercising, Yang Yi had not been idle. He had read quite a few books, especially Hot Siren Paradise, Volume Three. He had gone through it at least seven or eight times and had finally found a clue.

The clue had been hidden extremely deeply, concealed within the illustrations of the sirens and recorded in the form of tattoos.

If one had not been deliberately looking for it with a specific purpose in mind, it would probably have been impossible to discover this secret.

All of these tattoos were written in pinyin. When arranged according to the order of the book's pages, they formed the following message:

“Follow the wind, and you can find the source of the wind.”

Yang Yi told Suna about his discovery, but he did not tell her which book he had found it in.

The two of them agreed that this information was related to the Storm Sea. Perhaps by sailing with the wind, they could reach some special location, or it might even be connected to the Player Islands.

After uncovering the secret hidden in the book, Yang Yi hid the book away. He tossed it into a remote corner underneath the bed.

This book is Volume Three, so there might be several other volumes, and perhaps they also contain similar secrets. Yang Yi planned to keep an eye out and collect them.

After reviving Mars and saying goodbye to him, the Nightmare Star resumed its voyage. Yang Yi continued exercising and practicing swordsmanship while also taking stock of the food and fresh water in their supplies.

Because they regularly harvested fish, their food supply was currently more than sufficient. Even with Yang Yi's large appetite, it would be enough to last another six to seven months.

He checked his attributes. His base Constitution had officially reached 10 points, and the experience of his other attributes had also increased.

Perception, in particular, was an attribute Yang Yi had been improving relatively slowly.

However, after seriously practicing swordsmanship, the rate at which his Perception experience increased had risen dramatically.

This should be related to high-concentration activities, such as shooting. That was why Yang Yi occasionally unleashed a Sacred Saint Slash—in reality, he was also grinding experience.

“Your vertical slash still isn't precise enough.

“You need to make full use of the weapon's weight and follow through with the strike. Otherwise, using such a large sword is a waste.”

Tricia commented as she demonstrated with a wooden “greatsword" made according to her height.

However, she only had the movements and no strength behind them, so Yang Yi still had to grasp the actual feeling himself........

By dinnertime.

Yang Yi, Suna, and Tricia gathered together and enjoyed a hearty meal. Today, they caught a Black Thread Corpse Manipulating Worm. It had been caught by the Old Captain and was made into black Dragon Beard Noodles by Little Three.

Combined with the seasoning packet from the instant noodles, the meal was extremely satisfying. Suna herself ate three bowls.

Tricia was eating too, using a smaller bowl and sucking up the noodles one strand at a time while standing as far away from Suna as possible.

Normally speaking, Light Fairies did not eat food. They only needed to drink Holy Water regularly.

However, under Suna's guidance, Tricia broke this taboo.

Suna had argued that since she could decompose living creatures, she should definitely be able to eat food as well.

So Tricia started eating, and once she got started, she became unstoppable. At one point, her appetite was even comparable to that of an ordinary adult man.

As it turned out, she not only had a mouth like sulfuric acid, but her digestive ability was equally impressive. The food she ate seemed to be converted entirely into light stored inside her body.

After the meal, Suna prepared to return to the laboratory.

After reviving Mars, she had shifted the focus of her research to that alchemy manual rather than continuing to develop other potions.

This was because Suna had discovered deficiencies in the knowledge she possessed. Only after finding a way to control and reduce the variables would she have any chance of consistently producing higher-quality potions with stable effects.

“Wait a moment. I'll go to the laboratory too.”

Yang Yi spoke up.

He had not forgotten about the changes in the laboratory. The drop in temperature inside might be some kind of bad omen, so he decided to inspect it carefully.

The two of them returned to the laboratory together. Tricia followed them as well, though she hid inside Yang Yi's pocket.

“No matter how many times I look at it, it still feels evil...” Tricia complained.

Yang Yi entered the laboratory and carefully sensed the surroundings with his skin. There was indeed a chill.

But when he stepped back outside, the chill disappeared again.

After thinking for a moment, he switched to his Third Eye to inspect the area. This time, he finally discovered something.

There were glue-like substances smeared across the laboratory floor, on the containers, and on the table. They had structures resembling faces, as though they were crying out in agony.

Yet when he switched back to his naked eyes, those disgusting things disappeared again.

Yang Yi tried twice and confirmed that he had not seen it incorrectly.

“Suna, there are some extra things in your laboratory. I'll take a screenshot and show you.”

He sent Suna a black-and-white photograph.

In reality, however, this was the result after being processed by the system. There was no color in the field of vision provided by his Third Eye.
