Chapter 455: The Resurrection That Changed Everything
The Resurrection That Changed Everything
"What!"
The single exclamation tore through the stunned silence.
For a moment, nobody seemed capable of understanding what they were seeing.
"It’s actually Guardian Elder Leon..."
The students stared toward the figure who had just appeared, their expressions frozen between disbelief and confusion.
The elders were even more dumbfounded.
"F*ck..."
One of them could not help but curse under his breath.
"Is this Fellow Brother Leon so rich? He used immortal pills?"
Another elder sucked in a cold breath.
"Hiss... Didn’t they say that they weren’t on good terms? Why is he suddenly so generous? He even took out immortal pills?"
The words spread quickly through the crowd.
Nobody had expected this.
Leon and Shera had never exactly been known for having a harmonious relationship. In fact, the grudge between them had existed for years.
There had been arguments.
There had been clashes.
There had been countless moments when the two had stood on opposite sides of an issue.
Yet now, at the moment when Shera had already fallen into the jaws of death, Leon had actually taken out an immortal pill and brought him back.
That alone was enough to overturn everyone’s understanding of their relationship.
Even Mike stood motionless.
His grey hair fluttered in the cold wind.
His black eyes remained fixed on Shera, and for several breaths, he simply could not speak.
Leon was actually willing to take out an immortal pill to save Shera?
Mike knew better than anyone how deep the grudge between Leon and Shera had once been.
He had watched it develop.
He had seen the tension between them.
He had never imagined that Leon would extend a hand when Shera was truly at death’s door.
But that wasn’t even the most shocking part.
Leon had saved someone who had already died.
That fact alone was enough to make even a pinnacle expert like Mike struggle to comprehend what had happened.
The surrounding air seemed to grow strangely still.
Even the violent clash that had shaken the Sky Breaker Academy moments earlier seemed distant.
Everyone’s attention had shifted to Shera.
He stood there alive.
Not only alive.
His aura was powerful.
His body was young again.
And the Mana circulating through him carried an intensity that vaguely touched the pinnacle Realm.
It was almost as if death itself had been forced to release its grip.
Mike’s fingers tightened slightly around his weapon.
What exactly had Leon become capable of?
The question flashed through his mind, but before he could find an answer, Shera finally arrived.
The instant he appeared, everyone stopped in shock.
The students stared.
The elders stared.
Even those who had witnessed countless miracles throughout their lives found themselves unable to look away.
The battlefield, which had been filled with killing intent only moments ago, suddenly fell into an uneasy silence.
The atmosphere had changed completely.
Even the cultivators from Sky Breaker Academy, who had been preparing themselves for a desperate confrontation, could not stop themselves from glancing toward Shera.
Yet while the Celestis Academy was still struggling to digest the revelation, someone else had already understood the situation.
Gareth.
His expression darkened.
At first, he had been confused by Shera’s resurrection.
Then he connected the pieces.
The reason for the battle.
The death that had triggered Mike’s fury.
The supposed murder that had pushed the Celestis Academy into attacking the Sky Breaker Academy.
And now Shera was standing alive before them.
Gareth’s face became increasingly ugly.
A cold laugh escaped his lips.
"Hah! In the end, this is just an excuse you guys came up with to start a war with my Sky Breaker Academy."
His voice carried anger, but beneath that anger was something else.
Unease.
He had originally wanted to settle the matter peacefully.
If Shera had truly died, then the Sky Breaker Academy would have been placed in an extremely difficult position.
But now Shera had returned from death.
The entire nature of the conflict had changed.
Gareth had been hoping to use that fact to force Mike to reconsider.
Instead, the sight of Shera standing alive only made the situation more complicated.
The point of conflict between the two sides had suddenly disappeared.
And yet the blood had already been spilled.
The students of the Sky Breaker Academy had already fallen.
The elders had already died.
The hatred between both sides had already reached its peak.
There was no simple way to turn back.
Gareth’s gaze hardened.
"Mike, I will make you pay a heavy price today."
The moment his voice fell, the sky changed.
Dark clouds rolled across the heavens.
They gathered above the battlefield like an enormous black sea.
The light disappeared beneath them.
The wind became violent.
Then—
Boom!
A bolt of lightning tore across the sky.
Its blinding radiance illuminated the battlefield for a single instant.
The thunder rolled through the Academy Premises.
The earth trembled.
"Roar..."
A deep and savage roar suddenly shook the heavens.
The Gluttony wolf’s severed arm, which had been hanging limply moments earlier, suddenly began to regenerate.
Flesh and bone rapidly reformed.
Mana surged through the restored limb.
In the blink of an eye, the arm had returned to its original state.
The beast lifted its enormous head.
Its eyes burned with a terrifying ferocity.
Then its massive body suddenly shot into the sky.
The clouds seemed to bend beneath its pressure.
It crossed the battlefield in an instant and slowly descended toward Gareth.
Gareth stepped forward.
His robes whipped violently in the storm wind.
Then he placed one foot directly upon the head of the Gluttony wolf.
The moment his foot touched it—
Boom!
A destructive force erupted.
The surrounding space trembled.
The pressure descended like a mountain.
The ground beneath the beast cracked apart, and countless fragments of stone were blasted into the air.
Mike’s expression changed.
"Oh no!"
His eyes sharpened immediately.
He understood.
Gareth was no longer trying to negotiate.
He wanted to fight to the death.
The destructive aura spreading from Gareth was enough to make even the strongest experts present feel their scalps turn numb.
Mike immediately turned around.
His voice became sharp.
"All of you, retreat."
