God-Tier Villain
Chapter 160
"Master?"
"You... how are you here?"
Seeing that he was intact, Soren huffed, his tone didn't change.
"If I hadn't come, you'd be halfway to meeting the King of Hell by now."
Orathis laughed like an idiot, he stepped out of the demonic aura and put his feet on the ground, having Soren standing there filled him with more confidence than the situation deserved.
Only Orathis, Bruce and the others knew what Soren actually was, he had left Black Dragon Mountain a Lower-Tier Demon Ancestor and here he stood a Middle-Tier Demon Ancestor.
Orathis felt the pride swelling in him and couldn't keep it off his face.
Soren's next sentence made the corner of his eye twitch.
"You left Black Dragon Mountain without my permission, and then nearly threw your life away doing it."
"When we get back, don't blame me for kicking you to death."
Kicking to death was a figure of speech, it meant a beating, and it meant discipline, Orathis knew his master wasn't going to actually kill him.
He was also guaranteed to come out of it missing a layer of skin and half his lifespan.
A cold sweat came up on him.
Orathis rubbed his hands together. "Ah, Master, violence isn't the answer, we should all be standing firm against domestic violence."
"Besides, didn't Little Dragon do all of this for the sake of your future happiness?"
He cut his eyes meaningfully toward Liana, still crouched on the ground.
"My sister, Liana, is she pretty or is she pretty?"
"If I gave her to you as a wife, would you take her?"
"Ahem." Soren covered his mouth with a hand and arranged his face into something grave.
"Shut your mouth."
"Don't try to bribe me with women."
"Heheh, understood, understood, master doesn't like easy mode, master prefers hard mode, you want to handle it yourself, I understand, I understand."
Liana watched the pair with a blank look.
Her dantian was sealed, so she couldn't hear a word passing between them.
Sibling instinct filled in the gap, and it left her annoyed.
Because the expression on Orathis's face was frankly lecherous.
He was absolutely discussing something unspeakable with that Soren.
"Hahaha! Interesting, truly, deeply interesting."
"You're standing at the edge of your grave, and you still have time to chat about women."
Kain was laughing and the mockery was thick in it, but the corner of his eye kept twitching.
Everything the two of them said and did made it plain that neither had him in their eyes at all.
He needed the laughter to cover what was going on underneath, he had already settled on exactly how he was going to butcher Soren, his boot came down and spiritual energy exploded out of him.
It braided into his aura and became a Kunpeng phantom several hundred meters across, the same technique that had put Orathis on the ground.
The phantom moved like a stroke of lightning.
It went for Soren.
Kain narrowed his eyes, contempt written all over him.
To his mind, this much pressure was more than enough to crush a Middle-Tier Demon Ancestor and leave him crippled in the dirt.
But seconds before Kain moved, Soren had already waved Orathis toward the rear.
"My methods can regenerate your body, they can't put your Spirit energy back."
"So get to the back."
"Don't get in my way."
His tone was flat and thin as ice, it sounded callous, it was meant to keep the dragon from picking up a second set of injuries.
Orathis understood exactly what his master meant, he still felt hard done by. "Master, that's too far, that is genuinely too far."
"Why are you acting exactly like my sister?"
"Even the tone you use on Little Dragon is the same as hers."
"If somebody told me you two weren't made for each other, nobody would believe them."
The Kunpeng phantom came on with force enough to break the world.
Looking at it, Orathis got a vivid reminder of what that thing had done to him minutes ago.
"Oh, shit."
His legs went into high gear, he put a great deal of distance behind him.
Soren swore inwardly.
This kid's body is honest, I'll give him that.
Whatever, his turn.
Boom!
Soren's foot came down with the same weight.
A pitch-black Demonic Dragon roared its way into existence.
It launched like an arrow off a string.
Dragon and Kunpeng phantom met, and the collision threw out a tide of spatial turbulence.
Of everyone on that field, Liana, who couldn't call up a thread of Spirit energy, was the only one it picked up and threw.
She landed staring, her eyes had nothing in them but disbelief.
Soren's image was fixed in her pupils, tall and overbearing, burning itself deeper by the second.
What kind of aura is that? Is he really only a Middle-Tier Demon Ancestor? Why does his strength feel level with mine?
Azel's spiritual energy caught her and held her in midair.
He was every bit as astonished, it had never occurred to him that Soren could cancel Kain's full-force strike on raw martial coercion alone.
His assessment hadn't changed, in a real death match, Soren was no match for Kain.
But he had to look at this young Middle-Tier Demon Ancestor again, properly.
"There's real substance in this brat."
"That coercion he put out was almost certainly his ceiling."
"Kain used seventy, maybe eighty percent."
"Hmph."
"Dangerous all the same."
"Exalted Continent was blockaded by the supreme factions of our four continents, there's nothing left in this soil but scrapings of destiny, and it still produced a native-born Middle-Tier Demon Ancestor."
"Lucky we found him now."
"Let him keep growing and there's every chance he reaches Upper-Tier one day and puts a knife to the standing of all four supreme lineages."
"Heh."
Hm?
The moment his muttering stopped, Azel's pupils shrank to pinpoints.
His face emptied out.
A silhouette went past his side spitting blood, dragging a straight white scar through space behind it.
The turbulence that came off it whipped around him in a storm.
Every ripple worked like a razor against his armor.
A small sting on his cheek brought him back.
He couldn't believe what he had watched go by.
Was that Kain? Kain, vomiting blood? I looked away for a fraction of a second.
