Chapter 352
What they failed to notice, however, was that at this exact moment, Adam had brought Cecilia to the area where the black lizard had seemingly discovered something earlier.
The location was nestled between a few small hills, the shrubbery and plants here had been entirely flattened, and the ground was covered in massive footprints.
"Young Master, why are we here?" Cecilia asked in confusion.
"I don’t know either, which is exactly why we’re here!" Adam carefully scanned the ground with his eyes, but he couldn’t spot a single clue, what on earth did that demonic beast discover? Adam rested his chin in his hand, his brows locked in a tight frown.
Far away, in the deepest reaches of the Heavenly Court, inside a massive building concealed by a supreme formation.
A group of Heavenly Soldiers clad in armor were staring intently at light screens before them, occasionally forming hand seals.
On the light screens, the numbers floating above the heads of cultivators who had just killed demonic beasts would actively update.
"General, a demonic beast inexplicably regained a sliver of its sentience and paced around an exit for quite some time!"
"Oh? Have you found the reason?" A Heavenly General sitting on the highest raised platform looked down in surprise at the reporting soldier.
"It’s likely because the dosage wasn’t properly controlled initially!" the Heavenly Soldier lowered his head and replied.
"No matter, it’s the final time anyway, have any other demonic beasts exhibited similar behavior?" the Heavenly General continued asking.
"No, General, however, one cultivator seems to have noticed the anomaly with that beast and is currently inspecting the entrance!"
"Let him be, no one below the Saint Realm could possibly discover the truth behind it, he probably just assumes that since the beast was pacing there, there might be some hidden treasure." The Heavenly General shook his head, entirely unconcerned.
"Yes, General, then I shall return to my duties!"
"Wait a moment, have there been any accidents at the Life Cities?" the Heavenly General suddenly called out.
"Reporting to the General, none at all!"
"That is good, you are dismissed!"
After the Heavenly Soldier withdrew, the Heavenly General raised his head again, looking at the largest light screen in the room, it displayed live footage of every single demonic beast.
Adam observed carefully for a long time, even after Soren and the others had left, he remained in that spot, observing meticulously.
He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a problem here, Adam trusted his intuition immensely, along the way, his Omniscience of All Things had helped him a great deal, it was just that he hadn’t yet pinpointed the exact crux of the issue.
"Young Master, are we not leaving?" Cecilia asked with a puzzled look, seeing Adam still deep in thought.
"No rush, there’s a problem here!" Adam shook his head, his gaze refusing to miss a single detail.
Did I forget something? No, I need to mentally review everything from the very beginning.
Adam began tracing back his memories to the moment they entered the Azure Cloud Field Hunt.
Right after entering, he first killed a First Heaven Deity Realm demonic beast, then a Second Heaven, Fifth Heaven, Sixth Heaven, just like that, he had been killing demonic beasts nonstop until now, besides slaughtering beasts, he didn’t seem to have done anything else.
Wait a minute, killing demonic beasts? Killing demonic beasts? Killing demonic beasts?
A crisp chime suddenly echoed within Adam’s soul, and the Primal Chaotic Azure Lotus swayed gently, Adam’s eyes instantly snapped clear.
Right! The strength of the demonic beasts here was simply too weak, so weak that it defied basic common sense, Adam had actually thought of this earlier, but the thought had merely flashed through his mind before vanishing.
At this moment, Adam felt as if he had been struck by lightning, all his thoughts converged entirely on this single point, he looked around him.
The strength of these demonic beasts was indeed far too feeble, vastly different from the legendary tales of the Azure Cloud Field Hunt.
For someone of his caliber, First and Second Heaven Deity Realm demonic beasts were utter child’s play, it was normal for him to kill them instantly.
But along the way, whenever he encountered Fifth, Sixth, or even Seventh Heaven demonic beasts, they all gave him a very strange feeling.
That Seventh Heaven beast from just now, even though he estimated he wouldn’t defeat it in a head-on clash, still failed to give him any real sense of oppression.
This was highly abnormal.
"Cecilia, do you remember the descriptions of the Azure Cloud Field Hunt from before we came?" Adam asked in a deep voice, he already had a certain speculation forming, but he needed more evidence to confirm it.
Cecilia thought for a moment. "I remember, it’s said that the Azure Cloud Field is a gathering place for all kinds of demons, ghosts, and monsters."
"Exactly, so what do you think is the reason for this?" Adam asked back with a smile.
"This... Young Master, how would I know?" Cecilia tilted her head in thought.
"This might be the very last Azure Cloud Field Hunt." The corners of Adam’s mouth curled up.
"Why is that, Young Master?!"
"I’ll explain later, right now, it’s just a guess, I can’t be completely certain!" Adam shook his head, profound runes flowing within his eyes.
He didn’t know why, but ever since entering this place, his train of thought seemed to have been artificially restricted, even when he noticed something wrong with the demonic beasts, he wouldn’t think deeply about it, he just automatically assumed it was normal for the beasts here to be weak.
But thinking about it carefully, a First Heaven Deity Realm demonic beast not only lacked any corresponding divine abilities, it also seemed to lack basic sentience.
This was extremely unnatural.
Furthermore, he had always felt that this secret realm seemed artificially created, relying on the unique perspective of his past life’s memories, he was able to grasp this point, yet he hadn’t delved into the thought.
This completely contradicted Adam’s usual mindset.
If he were on the outside, Adam would have definitely inspected this secret realm inside and out.
As long as a secret realm was artificially created, with the exception of a very few supreme treasures that contained their own pocket dimensions, it had to be supported by one foundational condition, a formation!
