This was precisely why Arthur had invested so heavily in placing all ten of his cousins among the top ten players in the level rankings. By helping them advance with Divine Foundations, he had ensured that their rewards would be far more valuable than those received by ordinary players.

Once they collected their rewards, his ten cousins would collectively obtain more than thirty-five million Divine Gold.

Arthur’s lips curved into a faint smile as he considered the implications.

That money hadn’t been generated through his talent. It was legitimate currency obtained through the ranking rewards, meaning it could be multiplied without relying on an inflated or artificial source of wealth.

Once his cousins transferred the thirty-five million Divine Gold to him, his Infinite Multiplication talent would transform it into an astonishing three hundred and fifty billion Divine Gold.

That amount would provide enough resources for him to advance toward level thirty or potentially beyond.

At that stage, his strength would become increasingly difficult for ordinary players to comprehend. More importantly, he would finally acquire the ability to fly, granting him an entirely new degree of mobility and freedom.

However, before enjoying those advantages, he needed to secure the Heavenly Mirror of Fate.

Arthur’s smile widened slightly as he considered the opportunities ahead. Obtaining the mirror early would allow him to locate rare materials, uncover hidden opportunities, and potentially discover secrets that even powerful organizations had failed to identify.

He couldn’t afford to let Varian obtain it first this time.

Soon, Arthur and his subordinates reached the surface of the ocean, where their aircraft hovered in the air nearby. His generals immediately escorted his ten cousins, Anastasia, and Sebas toward the aircraft, ensuring that everyone could return safely to the territory.

Arthur, however, had no intention of accompanying them.

Instead, he turned his attention toward a nearby island. Without wasting another moment, he activated his full speed and crossed the distance almost instantaneously.

Upon reaching the island, Arthur landed on the beach and sat down quietly. The gentle waves washed against the shore while he closed his eyes, allowing his senses to extend into the surrounding environment.

He had come here to enter the game and to get the mission associated with the mysterious NPC, but something else had caught his attention during the journey.

There was a strange fluctuation emanating from this island.

Arthur intended to locate the NPC in the game first, obtain the Heavenly Mirror of Fate, and investigate the anomaly afterward.

As soon as Arthur arrived at the beach, he closed his eyes and connected to the game. Ten seconds later, his consciousness appeared inside the game world. Without wasting any time, he teleported out of his shelter and summoned his Shadow Panther.

The forest outside Heiran City was quite far from the city. If he ran at his normal speed without using Atomic Body Control, it would take him approximately three hours to reach his destination. However, with the Shadow Panther, he could cut that time in half and arrive within just an hour and a half.

"I hope that NPC is still there and nothing has changed because of the butterfly effect," Arthur muttered to himself as he rode the Shadow Panther toward the city.

Soon, he arrived at the city gate. Heiran City was currently in a ruined state, which was precisely why so many monsters had taken up residence within its walls. However, the city was not beyond restoration, and there was a way for players to reclaim it.

Every city had a special position known as the City Lord. Anyone who successfully challenged and completed the trial to become a City Lord would gain proper control over that city. One of the most important privileges of this position was the ability to establish a powerful barrier that could drive out the monsters and protect the city’s inhabitants.

Furthermore, a City Lord could impose taxes on the players living within their territory. Although the game imposed strict regulations on taxation, preventing City Lords from arbitrarily extorting billions from their residents, the annual revenue was still an enormous sum of money.

Arthur had already made plans for his ten cousins. He intended to have them become the City Lords of the surrounding cities, allowing his family to establish a powerful territorial foundation. As for himself, he had a much more ambitious goal in mind. He planned to participate in the trial to become the King of the Sun Kingdom.

That position was also vacant.

Although numerous players had managed to become City Lords during the ten years of his previous life, not a single person had ever succeeded in becoming a king. The requirements were simply too demanding, even for the strongest players of that era.

To become the King of the Sun Kingdom, a player had to defeat a Level 60 Mythical Boss, along with its accompanying Epic-ranked General Bosses and Royal Grade Boss soldiers. The combined strength of such an army was practically insurmountable for players at the time.

Even those who had reached the peak of their development had failed to accomplish this feat. Once players reached Level 61, they would also need to enter a domain to continue their advancement, making the challenge even more difficult.

Consequently, no player in the world had ever managed to defeat such an overwhelming lineup while still at Level 60.

Arthur had learned about the kingdom’s royal position during his previous life. He remembered reading an ancient history book that mentioned the incredible benefits of becoming a king. According to the records, the king would gain control over the entire fortune of the kingdom, and that fortune could be converted into attribute points, dramatically increasing the king’s strength.

Unfortunately, Arthur had discovered this information too late in his previous life. By the time he learned about the opportunity, he had already reached Level 80, and the chance to take advantage of it at the appropriate stage had long since passed.

This time, however, things would be different.

As Arthur continued thinking about his plans, the Shadow Panther carried him deep into the wilderness. Towering trees stretched across the forest, their dense branches intertwining overhead until even the sunlight struggled to penetrate the thick canopy. The deeper he ventured, the darker and more oppressive the surroundings became.

Eventually, he reached the core of the forest.

The NPC should be somewhere around here.

Arthur remembered the man well from the stories he had heard during his previous life. The NPC was severely injured and would offer players a quest to rescue his daughter from a Level 30 Legendary-ranked Boss Monster. However, the man himself belonged to a powerful clan within the empire and had been hunted down by rival clans, leaving him gravely wounded.

That was the background story behind the quest, and it was hardly a secret. Varian had recounted the incident on numerous television programs and at various public gatherings, making the story familiar to many players.

He did not have to search for long before his eyes landed on a middle-aged man leaning against an enormous tree. His clothes were torn, his body was covered in wounds, and his pale face revealed just how severely injured he was. Despite his condition, he was still alive.

Arthur immediately examined the NPC’s information.

[Name: Jiang Han

Level: 96

Background: One of the five surviving members of an ancient demigod Jiang family in the Mega Mana Empire. He has been severely injured by his enemies, and his daughter has been abducted by a monster.]

Arthur dismounted from the Shadow Panther and slowly approached the injured man. The moment Jiang Han sensed his presence, he cautiously opened his eyes and looked at the young man standing before him.

"Young man, can you save my daughter?" Jiang Han asked weakly, his voice filled with urgency. "If you can bring her back safely, I will give you our family’s heirloom. And if you can also bring me the monster’s core, I will offer you another opportunity."

As soon as he finished speaking, a notification rang out in Arthur’s mind.

[Ding! A player quest has been issued. Quest Grade: Epic.

Rewards:

For rescuing his daughter: Heavenly Mirror of Fate, a top-grade Epic-ranked artifact.

For killing the monster and bringing back its core: The Jiang Family’s Secret Artifact Refining Method and an opportunity to awaken a second class, Artifact Refiner.]

Arthur’s eyes widened as he read the quest rewards. He gulped, struggling to contain his excitement. It was the first time he had learned that a player could possess two classes. Throughout his previous life, he had never heard of anyone achieving such a feat.

"Damn! This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I think I understand why Varian was never particularly happy when he told this story," Arthur muttered to himself.

Every time Varian recounted the incident, his expression had seemed strange. It was as though he had not gained an opportunity but lost something more precious.

"So that’s how it is. Hahahahahaha!"

Arthur suddenly burst into loud laughter as he finally understood the truth behind the story.
