Goblin Dependency
Chapter 1213 - 597: Blood Stone Anchor (2)
"These leg guards are quite a remarkable piece of equipment."
"Although they might no longer meet the conditions for continued use, the fact that you are still able to stand here steadily proves it has fulfilled its mission."
"Judging by the craftsmanship... were they made by ’Rock Hammer’ Barn?"
"If possible, I would like to reclaim these leg guards to refine my forging skills."
"The price will certainly be higher than the market average, let’s just consider it as the tuition I pay to that ’Barn’."
"Pearl Spinning," a well-known high-end custom equipment store in Suo Yu Bay, actually doesn’t usually engage in low-level equipment reclamation business.
But just like the previous time Xia Nan also sold the [Pulse of Purgatory] here, as a fellow blacksmith, Celeane admires River Valley Town’s ’Rock Hammer’ Barn and is willing to pay for the remaining craftsmanship even when the equipment itself is already scrapped.
Feeling the goodwill of the half-elf in front of him, Xia Nan nodded slightly, shifting his gaze from the leg guards to the [Abyssal Stream] armor.
"What about this one, is it scrapped as well?"
In battle, it underwent a hit from the Fireball Technique and the brute force of the Blood Skin Shark Beast, and was finally flushed by the residual fire from my [Embers Resonance] state.
Judging just from the level of damage on the surface, the damage on the [Abyssal Stream] armor appears even more severe than the leg guards.
I originally thought it was inevitably scrapped and would need complete re-customization.
Unexpectedly, in response to Xia Nan’s inquiry, Celeane gave an unexpected answer:
"Hmm... it’s considered half-destroyed but still within repairable range."
"Oh? How so specifically?"
As the blacksmith of the armor itself, the half-elf obviously knows more than Xia Nan about the specific design details of the [Abyssal Stream] and the overall structure information of equipment.
The two were both free at this moment, not in a hurry, so they elaborated to Xia Nan carefully.
The [Abyssal Stream] armor is not the kind of common one-piece armor found in the market.
With Xia Nan’s abundant materials, ample financial support, and Celeane’s excellent forging skills, this equipment was completely designed at the start to fit his combat style and suit the local environment.
It is composed of two main parts.
One is a thick outer shell made of special metal, and the other is an inner lining sewn with the shark beast’s skin, with the chest position featuring a core material from the shark beast monster as the energy source connecting them.
In the battle on Stodd Island, against the high-intensity combat from the Sha Hua Fishman and Blood Skin Shark Beast, the [Abyssal Stream] armor seemed to suffer extremely severe damage.
But in fact, the impact was only on the outer metal armor, while the inner lining remained in a relatively undamaged state and was not completely scrapped.
"So, it can still be repaired?"
"Theoretically, yes." The half-elf nodded, "If you have monster material similar to that of the previous shark beast, repairing won’t be difficult."
What a coincidence.
Xia Nan gestured to a wooden cart at the entrance of "Pearl Spinning" where the Blood Skin Shark Beast’s body was stored.
"Shall we take a look?"
...
Compared to the ordinary shark beast monster previously used to make the [Abyssal Stream] armor, the Blood Skin Shark Beast is, whether in terms of actual combat power or material quality, an all-around superior substitute.
The only pity is, due to Xia Nan’s intervention, by the time it was summoned to the Material Realm, it was already in a severely weakened state with its skin full of wounds, with only a very small part remaining intact.
Just perfect for repairing the inner lining part of the [Abyssal Stream] armor.
"This fish bladder is pretty good!"
Due to a previous experience dealing with shark beast material thanks to Xia Nan, Celeane carefully extracted a peculiar fish bladder from the shark beast’s body, approximately the size of two adult fists, semi-transparent crystal-like all over, emitting a blood-colored halo.
His facial expression showed slight surprise.
The key to repairing the [Abyssal Stream] armor is its chest where the energy source made with the shark beast fish bladder as the core was originally placed.
Since there is a substitute at hand now, he had to carefully check if the Blood Skin Shark Beast’s fish bladder is usable.
Thanks to Xia Nan’s penchant for ending with head region weakness targeting, this key item of the shark beast material was well preserved.
Even though the body has been dead for several days, when extracted from the flesh, it still rhythmically pumps out intense blood-red light like a heart.
The extremely rich smell of blood inflows the nostrils with each breath, and the scarlet light makes Xia Nan recall the explosive type skill released by the Blood Skin Shark Beast during the battle.
"With the material to repair the inner lining secured, and the core fish bladder perfectly usable, even better, the shark beast’s bones and some tendons can serve as excellent auxiliary materials."
"The remaining task is just to find a suitable special metal."
Gently placing the glowing fish bladder into a small box made of unknown black metal used to store special materials temporarily.
The half-elf Celeane proposed to Xia Nan:
"For the last construction of the [Abyssal Stream] armor, there is still some special metal left in my store, do you want to keep using this, or do you wish to switch to another type?"
When making the armor before, they thoroughly examined the compatibility between the special metal and the armor itself, and the defense strength had been tested in battle, Xia Nan thought there’s nothing wrong with continuing to use this metal.
Suddenly, he seemed to have thought of something.
"Wait a moment, see how about using this?"
With one hand, he slightly lifted the shark beast’s body on one side, while the other hand rummaged in the carriage for a moment.
Soon, accompanied by a dull sound from the friction of some heavy metal and wood.
A giant anchor, surface stained with blood and tethered with a thick chain on the end, was pulled out from beneath the corpse by Xia Nan.
It fell to the ground with a heavy thud.
This anchor was, naturally, the weapon used by the Blood Skin Shark Beast at that time.
It seemed unremarkable, as if showcasing exaggerated destructive power solely relying on its own weight and the Blood Skin Shark Beast’s immense strength during the battle.
But upon Xia Nan’s careful inspection later, he found that the metal used in this anchor was extraordinary, perhaps slightly lacking in resilience, yet the defense capability was astonishingly strong.
After such intense combat, the surface barely had the most basic few scratches.
Thus, he was wary enough to summon its attribute panel specifically.
...
[Blood Stone Anchor]
Type: Anchor
Introduction:
An abandoned anchor from Shelrusk Deep Sea with once incredibly glorious history numerous years ago, but after the light faded, it could only be wielded with brute force as a weapon.
Note:
"No time left, drop the anchor! Quickly drop the anchor!"
——The dying words of Sahog of the ’Blood Stone’
...
Unlike serious equipment, ordinary items like this with no stated quality do not provide much information on the attribute panel.
There are only two clues, the "’Blood Stone’ Sahog" regarding the anchor’s origin, and the "Shelrusk Deep Sea" location provided in the introduction.
About the former, Xia Nan inquired the adventurers for information on the way back, but no one had heard of the name "Blood Stone."
Based on the wordings "numerous years ago" in the introduction, it is estimated not a character of this era, and if one needs to find a specific origin, it would require time to search relevant literature in libraries.
As for the latter... Xia Nan finds it very familiar.
Shelrusk, located in the Mysterious deep sea between the icy crevices of Stegia, the fifth layer of the Hell of Bator.
Shark Nest.
The place of honor for Sha Hua Fishmen.
Also the dwelling of their divine being, [Giant Shark] Sekola.
An anchor from the Shark Beast Divine Country.
Seems just perfect for being used as the main material for the armor.
