Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons
Chapter 611: [R-18] The Night - Part 2
She kissed him again and this time it was slower.
Deeper.
She sank into it like someone who had been holding her breath for months and had finally been allowed to exhale.
Her hands moved from his neck to his chest, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as though she feared he might disappear if she let go.
Thoren responded in kind.
His free hand found her waist, settling there with a firmness that drew a quiet sound from her throat.
Hmmm.
He was not passive anymore; he was present, engaged, and the shift made Fidelia’s heart hammer against her ribs.
When they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing harder.
She looked down at him, and something in her expression cracked open. The confidence she had worn like armor since entering the room was gone.
What remained was raw.
"I was afraid," she confessed. "After you left. I kept telling myself it was foolish. That I was just another awakener you happened to cross paths with. That I would forget."
She swallowed. "I didn’t."
Thoren’s gaze remained steady on hers and he did not interrupt.
"I told myself if I ever saw you again, I would be satisfied with just that. Just seeing you alive." Her voice wavered. "But the moment I saw you on the Muster ground..."
She trailed off and Thoren’s hand at her waist tightened slightly, grounding her.
"You don’t have to explain," he said.
"I know." She shook her head. "But I want to. I want you to understand that this isn’t—" She paused, searching for the right words.
"This isn’t just the wine. This isn’t just tonight."
He watched the way her fingers trembled against his chest, the way her eyes glistened but refused to spill over.
She was holding herself together by sheer force of will, and he found that he respected her more for it, not less.
Slowly, he sat up beneath her, shifting their positions until she was the one leaning back against the headboard and he was the one hovering close. His hand came up to cup the back of her neck.
Her breath caught and then she stopped holding back.
She pulled him down to her, and the kiss that followed was not tentative or questioning. It was the kiss of someone who had made a decision and intended to see it through.
Her hands moved to his shoulders, then his back, pulling him closer until there was no space left between them.
Thoren met her with equal intensity.
For a long while, the room held only the sounds of whispered breaths and the rustle of fabric. The magical wine bottle lay forgotten beside them.
The distant laughter from downstairs faded into irrelevance.
Fidelia’s hands found his face, cradling it as she kissed him again and again, each one softer than the last, until the urgency melted into something tender.
His breathing changed. What had been steady and controlled now came in shallow, measured pulls through his nose, each exhale heavier than the last. The calm mask he wore so effortlessly began to fracture at the edges.
His jaw tightened.
His fingers, still tangled in her hair, curled reflexively.
Fidelia felt it; all of it.
The shift in his posture.
The sudden rigidity pressed against her ass, close to her cave entrance.
The way his chest rose and fell with restrained effort and she smiled. A soft, erotic laugh escaped her lips, low and knowing, vibrating against his mouth.
That sound undid something in him.
Without hesitation, Thoren moved. His arm hooked around her waist, and in one fluid motion he turned, reversing their positions.
Fidelia’s back met the mattress with a muffled thud, her hair splaying wild across the sheets, and he was above her. He pinned her there with the weight of his body and the intensity of his gaze.
She gasped, but it was not fear.
Her eyes widened with delight, pupils blown wide, and that laugh came again, breathier this time, catching in her throat as she looked up at him.
Thoren’s fingers found the hem of her blouse, pushing it upward with deliberate slowness. His gaze dropped, fixed on the newly exposed skin as he pulled the fabric higher.
He did not meet her eyes as his attention was wholly consumed by the sight of her.
When his palm finally closed over her breast, warm and full beneath his hand, his thumb brushed across the peak.
Fidelia’s breath hitched, back arching into his touch.
He watched his own hand move against her, mesmerized. The way she responded. The way her skin flushed under his fingers.
He lowered his head, lips replacing his thumb.
Clothes became obstacles, and obstacles meant to be removed.
Fidelia tugged at his shirt, and Thoren pulled it over his head in one motion. Her hands found his chest immediately, palms flat against the hard planes of muscle, exploring with an urgency that matched his own.
He unfastened her gown with practiced efficiency, sliding it from her shoulders, and she wriggled free of her remaining clothes while he shed the rest of his.
Within seconds, nothing remained between them.
And for a moment, they paused.
Fidelia lay back against the pillows, completely bare, her skin glowing in the dim candlelight.
Her chest rose and fell with quickened breaths, and her thighs pressed together instinctively. This was not from shame, but from the overwhelming awareness of being seen.
Thoren knelt above her, equally exposed, and his eyes traveled the length of her body with unhurried attention.
He did not rush.
He looked at her the way someone might study a rare and precious thing and with hunger.
Thoren positioned himself at her entrance, the tip of him pressing against her slick warmth cave entrance.
Fidelia’s breath caught, her fingers digging into his shoulders.
He moved slowly.
Deliberately.
Inch by inch, he sank into her, her wet walls yielding around him with a soft, yielding resistance that drew a guttural exhale from deep in his chest.
Fidelia gasped, her back arching, her thighs trembling as she took him in. Her nails raked down his back.
"Thoren..."
His name broke on her lips, half plea, half prayer.
He paused once fully sheathed, giving her time to adjust, his forehead pressed to hers, breathing heavily.
And then he began to move.
